Berapa dosis penggunaan VITERNA dan POC NASA serta HORMONIK pada budidaya ikan nila, bagaimana cara aplikasi yang efektif ?

JAWAB = 
Jika menggunakan ketiga produk tersebut, cara pencampurannya adalah : VITERNA dan POC NASA masing-masing satu botol dicampur menjadi satu, kemudian campuran tersebut ditambah dengan 1 – 2 tutup botol HORMONIK. Sedangkan dosis penggunaannya sama saja untuk semua jenis ikan maupun udang, yaitu 1 tutup botol campuran tersebut ditambah dengan 0,5 sampai 1 liter air yang kemudian dicampur dengan 2 ? 3 kg pakan ikan.

He is an aspiring mad scientist who spends just a little bit too much time in the genetics lab, and has a keen interest in the evolution and speciation of Southern African jellies. Bagaimana mengatasi kanibal pada ikan lele yang sering terjadi ?

JAWAB =
Kanibal pada ikan lele disebabkan oleh dua hal, yaitu pakan yang kurang atau padat tebar yang terlalu tinggi. Sehingga untuk mengatasinya harus disesuaikan dengan penyebabnya tersebut. Jika kurang pakan maka pakan harus ditambah sampai maksimal sampai 2,5% dari berat badan per hari. Atau secara mudahnya dengan melihat respon ikan terhadap pakan yang kita tebarkan. Jika terlalu padat (lebih dari 150 ekor per meter persegi) maka harus dikurangi dengan menempatkan lele yang berukuran sama.

For celebrating the Ocean Day in Japan, I make one more post of beautiful tiny stars of radiolarians. All these are acantharians, except for polycystine radiolarians, Spongosphaera, on the top right corner in the 1st slide. Acantharians’ spines and skeletons are made form strontium (Sr) dissolved in surrounding seawater. Other radiolarians including polycystines use silica (Si) for their spines and skeletons. -

It’s the Ocean Day (海の日) today in Japan. I got a newly published amazing picture book for radiolarians by Dr. Matsuoka, Niigata Univ. The book contains beautiful SEM pictures of complex and esthetic skeleton structures of fossil radiolarians. The publisher is @alicekan_ehon who always releases beautiful picture books for children, including science education books.

海の日の今日、出版されたばかりの新しい本を手に入れました。アリス館 @alicekan_ehon さんから出版された放散虫の絵本です。新潟大の松岡先生が撮影された化石の放散虫の電子顕微鏡写真が一杯です。普段は真鶴で生きている放散虫はよく観察していますが、その細胞の中にはこんなに美しく不思議な骨格が入っているのです。

Invasive species are those that have been moved to new parts of the world through human activity✈️🚢🚙, and have strong, negative, impacts on native species and ecosystems ☹️. Some famous examples are kudzu, zebra mussels, and lionfish. 
Native to parts of Australia, Africa, and Asia, this species has become invasive in lakes and ponds throughout most of the United States.
Because of its invasion potential and short lifespan, it makes a great study invader for my research.

Photo 2: basic Daphnia lumholtzi anatomy. This species typically bears live young, and you can see the black eyes 👁 of the developing juveniles in the area labeled “developing offspring.” Photo 3: video of several gravid (pregnant) females swimming.

'Z' for zooplankton....all done, finally finished!  I never imagined this little project would take me so long - 18months, 4 sets of miniature brushes and maybe 300 hours of painting. Feels a bit of an anticlimax now though, but nice to have it completed 🙌

After watching Close Encounters with the Third Kind this week, I realized #zooplankton don’t get more Hollywoodesque alien than the tunicate, Oikopleura dioidica. The popular depiction of extraterrestrial life as large heads with slender bodies 👽 indicates a primitive form that most people imagine to be shared by “intelligent” organisms. Oikopleura is distinguished by having a notochord, a primitive back bone common to all chordates, which is the yellowish rod in this (definitely) false color painting. In the ocean, the most alien-looking zooplankton is developmentally very similar to humans... an evolutionary close encounter. 🤭😂

Muggiaea atlantica (?) : small hydrozoan jellyfish, Order Siphonophora.  Siphonophorans are colonial marine hydrozoans and they are know to be the most complex colony organization of all animals. Body plan of Muggiaea specieis are distinguished by the two regions, nectosome and  siphosome. The former is one large swimming bell and the later is composed of many small feeding, reproductive, and defensive zooids, which are shown in 2nd and 3rd slides of closed-up photos. The last slide shows a gold granule on the end of its somatocyst (gastrovascular). This may be an oil droplet to store energy.

An abundance of young pteropods! (the veliger stage, final larval stage of most snails). These planktonic molluscs have thin, transparent calcareous shells that can be coiled or triangular. Their foot has two large wings, which the animal uses to swim and feed (or fly, thus the name sea butterfly). Both shell and body of pteropods are very fragile and difficult to collect intact. There are many different species of pteropod and a range of size but all are voracious predators. They also all are subject to the challenges of ocean acidification.⠀

Craspedacusta sowerbii. A fitting name for such a strange little creature. The deep waters of Mead’s Quarry is home to thousands of tiny fresh water jelly fish. This is the story of a lobster egg that we got from a mother used at a lobster propagation facility at Helgoland. They develop very fast, and between the first and the last image only 4 days passed. Pay attention to the very last video where you can see parasitic trematodes (Schistosoma) walking on zoea. I think, they migrate to the eggs when those are still attached to the mother’s body, and when zoea hatch out from the egg shell - parasites invade them. We are having trouble identifying this little critter in our saltwater tank 😒 They are small white bug like critters. They are all over the tank but this video was taken in the sponge filter. They are not copepods/amphipods or flatworms from what we can see. So far nobody we have spoken with is sure... Please let us know if you have an idea!

Parasitic copepod Caligus elongatus (female with the egg sacks) from Helgoland, North Sea.  From wiki: ”A sea louse (plural sea lice), not to be confused with sea fleas, is a member of a family of copepods (small crustaceans) within the order Siphonostomatoida, family Caligidae.” When I was diving at Helgoland, I observed many of those hanging in a water column and waiting for their fish. They feed on the fish mucous and epithelial layers causing irritation and stress.
