I don't think you are that one overrated song you sang off-key out loud while you were drunk at the club. For starters, you were absolutely hammered but maybe you overheard your crush suggest it to someone earlier. So you learned it by heart to sing it in public like you have always misheard those exact lyrics and have had more than a few just to be convincing enough. You were confident about letting the booze sell you as an embarrassment. Suddenly an urge to wanting to know you awakens inside of me. Wait..what if it's just another catchy song and your singing voice keeps growing terrible while you are busy getting sloshed? What if you suck at singing when you are sober too? Well, I guess that makes two of us. But I still want us to go karaoke and kill our almost tar filled lungs singing on top of it because amidst all the chaos and anxiety, what's life without whimsy?

It was the touch of the first snowflake
that woke me from the night's slumber.

They laughed at me
for not running the other way
and begged me to be scared of you.
They would implore night and day
for me to understand, that all you were
was bad news and a rotten fruit.

But my mother, on her death bed,
asked of me to be brave and beware,
for I was always the one to refuse
to acknowledge the warning signs,
the red flags and the deafening sirens;
I was always the one to rip myself apart.

Maybe you won't walk away anymore
or maybe I'll finally shut the door.
But for now, I'll let the snow settle in
and the day to turn blue;
I'll sleep wishing for some hope to be left
for me and for you.

They are two categories of people in the present generation According to me
1. Who fakes being their original self,these people are often tough to understand and figuring out what they actually are and want.
These might seem attractive,their life might seem wonderful but the truth is they only show us the WOWs of their lives but not their downs and struggles.
So ppl like these are tough to sort .
They keep adding more and more layers of filters so we don't actually know who they are but my concern is Will They be able to identify their true self ?
Nothing matters more then understand and knowing your true self.
2. These people are true to the world too .
Their life might not seem attractive but its pleasing to see some originality.
Understanding and figuring out them is easy .Their originality being the beauty ,not a single filter fits them.
Choose people who are original and who doesn't have layers of filters that hides their true self.

It's not the people who are toxic, it's their thoughts and acts which are getting infected. And when I say infected, I mean to say the very basis of human mind, which is such that that powerful exploits the weaker ones, elders exploits the younger ones, owner/boss exploits their workers.. but when it comes towards gender, they are been exploited biologically which leave its mark psychologically too.

Since past, such things are being happening. If we see Ramayana, there is Sita Harana, in Mahabharata, there is Draupadi's Cheer Harana, Jodhabai's story and many more.
.
Killing anyone is not the only solution, but we need to change the Very Thought Process about this, of human beings. .
It's not just about a boy or a girl, but all those innocent souls who suffered. May they get the power to stand upright and strong and fight back and pray that justice is paid.

R.I.P to those who are not amongst us.
Let us all pledge to made our country free of such toxic acts and thoughts.

Two posts ago, I said I'd be starting a blog where I respond to the letters my father wrote me in prison, the ones I found last December after mustering up the courage to go through his stuff after he passed. I also want to share a big surprise! I've officially started my training to become an amateur boxer — something I've wanted to do for a long time. Boxing was an enormous part of my life growing up, and the boxing ring was my second home since my dad would often take me to work; he was a professional boxer and trainer. If you'd like to follow my journey, "Letters to My Father," the first letter is up on my bio. The first letter is long because, it’s the first one! Today’s been a vulnerable and emotional day, but I'm deeply honored to share this process with you. ⁣

"Speaking of sports, I’ve been called to boxing ever since I went to Malta on the first anniversary of your death, and the vice president of the Malta Boxing Commission, Gianluca Di Caro, organized a tribute for you. Since then, I’ve been having stronger visions of myself boxing, and sometimes they bring me to tears — I can’t explain it, but it’s a deep knowing that it’s my turn. And so, I’m learning that facing my grief means choosing differently, and instead of falling apart, I choose to step inside the ring and jab, cross, hook.⁣⁣

You also mentioned, “if I get out from here, I will take you to California and teach you how to fight.” Guess what, dad? I live in California now, and Chris “Lightning” Lopez is training me to fight. I just started this week and we bonded over you — you would love him, you two are very similar and it makes happy. He’s impressed with me and said I’m talented, and that I have a lot of fire — your fire, but also, I’m feisty as hell and can put it to good use! I know you lead me to him because when I stepped into his gym, I immediately felt at home. Every time I jab and hook while I’m inside the ring, I feel your passion coursing through my blood, and it fuels my fire — I’ve never felt so empowered, and in my element — your gift of boxing is in my blood. Why must our hearts always be out of sync? Why must yours beat on a different rhythm than mine? I’m so scared to fall in love with someone else because I’d hate for you to come back to me when I’m happy with someone else. Maybe it’s in our animal instinctive nature to want what we can’t have. Or maybe it’s just envy. If you asked me two years ago today if I’d leave whomever I’m with for you— I’d say, “Hell yes. Without question.” But now that so much time has passed and the longer you haven’t been around makes me wonder if you’re worth it anymore.

I rarely write poetic texts nowadays, but there’s something about staring into the ocean at night that always gets the inspiration flowing.. Something that came out of that recent encounter:

I see the gifts you have been given..
I can feel the depth..
But exploring deep waters without knowing how to rise back to the surface is not heroic, it’s called drowning.
And it prevents you from sharing that beauty with the world.
Don’t be afraid of shallow waters,
you already know what’s down under.
⠀⠀ ⠀
It’s a weird feeling to be sharing these poems as that’s the space where the true honesty gets revealed. And that’s scary and feels vulnerable. And maybe exactly the reason why these words SHOULD be shared. So there you have it ❤️
