People start to heal, the moment they are heard. ~ Cheryl Richardson.
This has always been the FIRST step to take people out of such a condition.
Don't ignore their problems and don't avoid them.

I have seen people mocking about others' mental health, saying "yeh toh attention seeker hai". I have seen people leaving their friends alone when they were going through the worst phase. I have seen people not accepting that mental disturbance can be dangerous.
For people who are facing this, my advice is to leave those people because you don't time to explain to them that this is REAL.
Instead, put your energy into healing yourself. Build a healthy relationship around, cancel all the negative aspects in the forms of humans in your life. Take a deep breath, laugh out loud and start caring about yourself, start caring about every single thing you thought you'll do in your life, start spending time with your "self" and your family. They are the most selfless creatures in anyone's life and they'll provide endless support.
Apart from this take a good sleep, our body heals best when we sleep well. Try to give that time to your body, and if nothing works don't shy to go to the therapist. They'll guide you the best. Trust me.
But, Never lose hope! Been there, done that.

Nah kan, relate banget sama aku yang urus 2 anak no nanny & no ART, jauh dari orangtua pula. Jadi kesehatan mental adalah KOENTJI sodara-sodara~ 👌🏻
.
Ingeeet banget kata psikolog mbak @ayankirma dari @ruangtumbuh.id, bahwa center of emotion in family adalah Ibu. Kalau Ibu bahagia, seluruh anggota keluarga akan bahagia. Pun sebaliknya. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Setuju banget! Karena menurutku, Ibu adalah jantung keluarga. ♥️

Seharusnya saya menuliskannya pada saat peringatan #worldsmentalhealthday, namun menuliskan ide itu memerlukan energi dan kejernihan berpikir. Kesibukan menjadi penghalang nyata untuk mewujudkannya. .
.
Ini adalah pengalaman perjalanan hidup saya yg dipersingkat dalam tulisan berdurasi 55 detik Sebuah masa yg suram dan melelahkan. Terhimpit dalam beragam permasalahan yg bukan hanya milik sendiri namun kompilasi dari kisah-kisah yg masuk ke dalam telinga dan tumpang tindih di dalam kepala. .
.
Mengakui bahwa "jiwa saya sakit" ternyata menjadi obat mujarab untuk mengurai kekusutan yg telah terjalin bertahun lamanya. .
.
Melarung semua hal yg tak ada manfaatnya. Melepaskannya pergi hingga tak meninggalkan jejak. .
.
Saya pikir, jiwa yg sakit hanya milik mereka yg jauh dari kehidupan yg saya jalani. Nyatanya, tiap jiwa bisa terluka, bisa kesakitan. .
.
Peluklah dirimu sendiri, sapalah dia, kenalilah dirinya, terimalah segala lebih dan kurangnya. Pulihlah para jiwa yg luka. .

10.10. ist seit 1992 #worldsmentalhealthday
Ich finde es schön, dass dieser Tag auf deinen Geburtstag fällt.
Ich weiß, ich persönlich brauche weder einen Tag, an dem ich besonders an dich denke, noch besonders an die psychische Gesundheit.
Für mich sind beides alltägliche Gedanken.
Ich achte auf meine mentale Gesundheit und mit gleicher Sorgfalt schaue ich nach der von meinen Liebsten.
Für mich ist die eigene psychische Gesundheit ein riesiger Schatz, den ich jeden Tag bewache und pflege. Auf den ich acht gebe, den ich schütze, vor Einflüssen, die nicht gut sind, die Schäden anrichten könnten.
Ich habe ein Sicherheitsnetz aufgebaut über die Jahre, zur Unterstützung.
All das, was ich mir über die Jahre erkämpft habe, ist Ausdruck einer inneren Kraft, die mich antreibt & unterstützt.
Ich glaube manchmal spüren zu können, dass du es bist, die mich unterstützt, von ganz weit weg & doch irgendwie aus meinem Inneren heraus.

All meine Erfahrungen & meine Geheimtipps, meine gelernten positiven Gedankenmuster & auch all das, bei dem ich denke, es ist eine Alarmglocke, all dieses Wissen gebe ich unheimlich gerne weiter.
Ich unterstütze meine Freunde & noch fremde Menschen. Ich bin gerne helfende Hand.

Semangat pagi...ada yang mau saya share nih.
Berjauhan sama keluarga itu rasanya g enak banget apalagi sama namanya berjauhan dengan ortu (bapak atau ibu).Saat ini saya tinggal di Bekasi yang notabene jauh dari kampung kelahiran saya di madiun.Maklum namanya sudah di dewasa kita harus mandiri cari penghidupan sendiri buat bekal di masa depan.
Ada kabar dari adik kandung saya katanya ibu saya lagi sakit masuk rumah sakit "deg" rasanya kaget dan bingung karena selama ini belum pernah namanya ibu masuk rumah sakit.Penuh rasa kawatir dan sempet punya pikiran mau resign dari tempat kerja karena mikirin ibu.
Secara g sengaja saya liat chatan di group WhatsApp ada namanya bapak haji budi suhendrio menawarkan madu AZ ZAHRA HONEY PREMIUM.
Tanpa pikir lama2 saya langsung memesan 2 botol dan saya kirimkan ke kampung, Alhamdulillah saya bersyukur selang 2 dari konsumsi madu " AZ ZAHRA HONEY PREMIUM" ibu saya kembali sehat,semoga bagi temen2 yang saat sakit cepet sehat ya dan jangan lupa minum madu AZ ZAHRA HONEY PREMIUM nya.

The worst part of depression is you feel constantly caged you feel suffocated. The worst part is the night,

“Saw my name in flashing lights, another daydream had passed me by as I watched from the sidelines // too scared to make a move and I never really knew just what to do so I guess it’s not in my #bloodline // There was a time everything hurt, crawled into my head, turned off the words and I hid under the covers // looking back in black and white, you came into my world, flipped on the light and now I’m seeing in color” in honor of #worldsmentalhealthday last week I figured I’d share these lyrics from my #sleepwalkEP. I wrote this song reflecting on all of the times when I had so much anxiety, fear and self-doubt that it was literally hard to function. I’m thankful for my loved ones who are my support and have found self-help regimes that work for me (acupuncture, therapy, massage, yoga, prayer and obviously music) I encourage those who are struggling to reach out for help. You would be surprised how many of your friends are dealing with similar issues and the more we talk about the hard stuff, the easier the conversation becomes. And if you don’t have anyone to turn to you can turn to me 💗 #mentalhealth

✨Couple of days back it was World Mental Health Day and I was wondering what is that 1 thing that I keep going back to when I’m mentally unwell. Exercising/Working Out - Didn’t take me much time to come to that conclusion!💪🏼
#TruthBomb But another point of this evidence based post is that it is normal and it is ONLY HUMAN to fall in and fall out of a habit, even if that habit is our favorite one.🤩
Keep swiping right, one by one I will describe the year, my weight and how my mental health at that point affected my physical health.
1) Currently: 58kgs, fairly consistent with Bombay jam workout and yoga. Mentally and physically better than last year, finally getting back my mojo. Eating EVERYTHING with moderation.
2) 2014: 68kgs, too young to have any problems in life. Was overeating, didn’t care for fitness. Occasionally used treadmill to walk/jog.
3) 2015: 65kgs, Depressed, highly stressed in life. Traveling in Mumbai local was the only activity I had time for. Not mindful about food.
4) 2016: 60kgs, Started weekend dance classes and was working out on weekdays at home. Was highly motivated to loose weight because wanted to feel good about myself. Eating home cooked meals.
5) 2016: 57kgs, Obsessed with gymming and Zumba. Happiest in life. Work-life balance was great. On a strict low carb diet.
6) 2017: 55kgs, Unable to be consistent at gym. Slacking at work. Was loosing all the toning. Still mentally at a good place.
7) 2017: 53kgs, no gym, no workout. Back to traveling in Mumbai local. Highly stressful job and highly stressful life. No time to eat food.
8) 2018: 54kgs, regularly gymming. Mentally super low. Attention to cooking and eating quality and quantity food was low.

We all struggle. As World Mental Health Day passes, I remind myself when I’m trying to be there for everyone else, I forget to be there for me. These last 2 months, I’ve lost people too soon, my fibromyalgia has taken a bad turn due to an overwhelming work and school schedule. I’ve allowed stress to ruin the hard work I put in and I’m back to starting over. I’ve struggled with anxiety, depression and PTSD most of my life.

Reach out if you need to talk to someone. We are all in this struggle and as much as we can help ourselves, let’s help each other too.

I know I missed #worldsmentalhealthday, but isn't every day mental health day? We had done an assignment where we had to pick a movie that displayed a type of mental health disorder and I picked Infinitely Polar Bear (if you know me, you know the reasons why) @markruffalo and @zoesaldana were absolutely amazing in this and I believe Mark did a stellar job in portraying Bipolar Disorder. I'm glad there are some movies out there that can accurately portray these disorders and create more awareness which is what we need to end the stigma that comes with having a mental health disorder. After going through my own battles and still fighting through them, I've learned that it IS okay to not be okay and that there are people who love you, care for you and will support you in the toughest times and the most exciting times. If you haven't seen this film, I suggest you watch it 😊 (Also, Times New Roman is just a classic paper font 😉)

I have already gotten so much love for this post and I am beyond grateful for that. After I got divorced I had an abortion.⁣

Which feels flippant to say given the nature of my upbringing and the nature of my story.⁣

If there was ever a time to have an abortion it was when I was barely nineteen, unwed and completely imploding.⁣

I searched for a long time for a woman who was open about this in her life. I looked for her everywhere. But mostly I just found women who demonized their own womanhood or ones that over-identified with it.⁣

Where were the moderate women who said they were relieved and still grieved? Where were the grateful and heaved women? They stayed silent. And I have for a long time. Because – I was afraid of your pretense. Miscarriage, infertility and adoption get a story and applause. Yet, in these moments I learned we become our reproductive parts. It breaks my heart. ⁣
Where do we put all the women who have had abortions? ⁣

“We don’t. They are not like us.”⁣

Oh, but friends. They are. You and me and that friend and THAT woman.⁣

If I believe I’m not my trauma… than who am I? Can I overcome my restless shame in a world who never talks about us?⁣

I love Jesus and I had an abortion. ⁣

Are we allowed to even admit something so seemingly vile to those who can’t love us up close? Can a God I love – love us here?⁣

Yes, oh – yes, yes yes. ⁣

I read once from Brene Brown that the biggest potential for helping us overcome shame is this – we are “those people” - most of us are one paycheck, one divorce, one drug-addicted child, one mental illness, one sexual assault, one night of unprotected sex, or affair from being ‘those people’ – the ones we don’t trust, the ones we pit, the ones we don’t let our kids play with, the ones bad things happen to…”⁣

I’m tired. Especially tired of living up to an expectation that isn’t mine. How could you expect anything other than the shame and trauma we all have endured?⁣

This is why humanity matters. It’s why we are both/and. It’s why the furious and radical love of God is near and dear.⁣

I’m not here for your goodness or your forgivness.⁣

He already gave it all. I’m here for your knees yielding and loving all of us where we are.⁣ Onward.

It was World Mental Health Day a few days ago. And this quote will always be my daily reminder. A reminder that it will be the hardest not to react strongly to your source of traumas.

It is a reminder that the scars are always going to be there, and only the story and meaning of the scars that you can give different meaning.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A reminder that most of the time, your source of traumas won’t even realize that they are the source of traumas.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A reminder that, though all of that happens, come back and be in the moment. Feel all the pain and let them pass. Knowing this is just a process of becoming. Not everyone will understand. And that’s OK.

A reminder that, in every moment of hurt, I will never leave myself. I will love myself harder. And still know, that life happens for me, not to me.

I used to grasp onto happy moments as if I’d never have another one. I would feel it slip through my fingers as time passed and I knew it was coming to an end.
I spent so much time obsessing over my fear of never ending pain and helplessness that I was incapable of really enjoying anything. I was convinced that all happiness was temporary and numbness was normal.
It’s not. But neither is being happy all the time. There has to be balance. In balance I found healing. I can savor every happy moment knowing that it surely won’t last, but such is the same for the bad ones.
Pain is inevitable, and for some unfair reason of the universe, some people feel it much more, deeper, and longer than others. Life is a collection of good and bad, and both can be found all around us.
It’s not about focusing on the good over the bad. It’s about accepting both.

An update on my mental health: I still have depression, anxiety and PTSD. It's chronic, and it's something that would never go away. At some times, it hit hard. It's especially harder when living in triggered environment. At some other times, I feel better.

Wondering why I'm talking about this? It is because it's my truth. It matters. Mental health should be taken care of, just like physical health. I've been seeking therapy, taking medication, facing the traumas that slowly makes me feel that I'm in better control of my own life. It's not perfect, but what important is that I still keep on trying.

I don't want to live a bitter life and die with so many regrets. As I'm currently traveling, I now know for sure that I am not using travel to run away. A year and a half ago, it was probably slightly so. But this time, I am not.

So, the reality now is that I am unable to have therapeutic sessions while traveling abroad due to laws & ethics, obviously. But I do have medication with me, and I do facetime with my loved ones to makes me feel...complete because traveling isn't the only thing that makes me feel complete.

I'm trying to act like everything is fine.

So #worldsmentalhealthday past us this week and I debated doing a post this year as I honestly didn’t think I was worthy enough to talk about it.

This has been one of the worst years of my life! I came into 2019 so happy and so optimistic, but since it’s just been one damaging hit after the next, getting constantly kicked while I’m on the ground.
I always prided myself on being open about my own battles within my head and this year I just completely tricked myself into how strong I thought I was being, I’ve lost a large part of myself that I need to find again because right now I’ve never felt more alone.

I convinced my mind for most of this year that because I’m smiling all the time on the outside that I must be on the inside too because if I slip and let that smile fade then everyone will ask me “Am I okay?” and I didn’t want to burden my family and friends that I’m as far from okay as I’ve ever been.
Today though I made a promise to myself to let the people who care about me know how I’m really doing and that I’m going to spend the rest of this year being kind to myself and try to accept happiness once again.

I may have lost the battle for a while but I will keep fighting until I win the war 🧡

This week was World’s Mental Health Day and I wanted to post but I wasn’t sure what, but it’s been bugging me and so I just wanna say, we’ve all been through bleak times and I’ve come to the conclusion that the meaning of life is really just to be happy and good mental health is about speaking up and changing things when you’re not. So if happiness is marriage and kids, cool. If it’s being at the top of the ladder at work, great. If it’s pink iced donuts, flowers, hugs with ace people, chilled times with family and friends, mischievous drunk times, adventures big and small, the sea, stationary... cherish those moments little and often! Good mental health is all about being thankful for the little things, knowing someone is there for you even when the shit - much of the time trivial, sometimes less so - has hit the fan. It’s about believing in yourself and distancing yourself from snakes and anyone who’s not on your team!!! I think. I may be hideously wrong. But I’ve learnt keeping things simple can really help. Keep happy, peeps. Don’t let shit grind you down - and speak up if and when it does. Sometimes it is really difficult and burdensome to be in harmony and peace within ourselves. I have learned to see these phases as part of our journey, which ultimately makes us the person we are. Mental Illness Awareness

Do you know what a person going through inside? No.
Violence is something which is unacceptable whether you’re woman or a man, it’s inhuman. We always talk about domestic violence, bullying, rape etc but we never actually feel about it until or unless we being the victim of it. If a man raise his hands on woman it’s not okay same goes for woman if a woman is taking advantage of a softhearted man it’s also not okay. There’re people who’re suffering from abusive relationships, toxic friendships or what not you can’t comfort anyone unless or until you go through the same situations. Can you feel his or her wounds? Can you make them feel comfortable when they’re emotionally down except giving them sympathies for no reasons? They’re in cage, cage of pain, wishes, desires, scars, battle of death, emotional breakdown, abusive fightings etc. They’re screaming HELP HELP, help them listen their screams and help them for coming out of that cage as soon as possible. We always talk about mental illness but never tries to understand someone nearer to us when they’re going through mental issues because we can not accept the reality when it’s about our close ones we always says if you feel any pain come to me but what if someone come to you for the rescue and you didn’t take them serious? Look around you there’re a lot of people in cage fighting from battles is in need of you, help them to get out of it otherwise one day you’ll be the person in cage and no one will come to rescue you.

In a lot of ways we look at mental health from an illness based perspective. Focusing more on problems and less on what it means to be mindful and aware of our mental health on an everyday basis. ⁣

As a mom, these are some of my favorite ways to incorporate mental health awareness and nurturing experiences into our family life. With the hope being that we are creating a foundation of self-awareness and skills that will be of value as our kids expand their experiences in the world outside of our home. And even more so that in the event that they do experience a problem with their mental health they will feel safe enough to seek help. ⁣
