The lat pulldown exercise works the back muscles, especially the latissimus dorsi or the "lats. It is performed at a workstation with adjustable resistance, usually plates. While sitting with your upper thighs restrained under a thigh pad, you pull a hanging bar down toward you, to reach chin level, and then release it back up with control for one repetition. This exercise can be done as part of an upper body strength workout.

In my opinion, the exercises in this post focus on strength and conditioning for the shoulders for those who are very active. Strong and mobile shoulders will help improve your ability to participate in fun sports like rock climbing, kayaking, surfing, CrossFit, baseball and volleyball among others.⠀

These shoulder exercises are challenging and I use exercises like these in the later stages of rehab when someone is close to getting back to athletic activities.⠀

Would I use these exercises to reduce pain?⠀

Probably not. Pain-reducing exercises are easier versions of these exercises. By the time I implement these exercises for my clients, pain has been mostly reduced.⠀

Did you know that one of the most important “snacks” of your day is what you eat right after your workout?
-
What you eat right after you exercise can have a pretty big impact on your results, since it helps your body do three important jobs: replenish, rebuild, and rejuvenate.
-
There are some simple things you can do to make sure you get the most out of your post workout “refeed.” First, choose your snack BEFORE you start your workout – and make sure you have it handy!
-
Second, try to eat something within 45 minutes of finishing your workout that your body can rebuild its glycogen stores (basically, what your muscles use for fuel) as well as protein.

Here’s a third key: your snack doesn’t have to be huge, but after more intense exercise, it should contain both carbs and protein. -
Eat a fruit only before workout and not after! Watch my video on IGTV to find out why. -
Here are a few snack ideas:

TURMERIC. The body is inflamed after working out and filled with lactic acid, so the primary goal is recovery. Many people reach for protein after exercise, but since most protein is acidic, you're better off feeding your body something alkaline and anti-inflammatory. Add fresh or powdered turmeric to your snack like Turmeric Smoothie.
SWEET POTATOES. With about 100 calories, 24 grams of carbs, 4 grams of fiber, and 2 grams of protein per medium size, including vitamins B6, C, D, iron, magnesium, and potassium, this is a great option to pair with a good source of lean protein like a piece of grilled chicken. 
ALMONDS. This is what I eat after a quick afternoon workout and I like them because it’s easy grab, the protein helps muscle recovery too. A 22-almond serving is just-right size for a quick muscle boost. -

One of my go-to lower body exercises and #gluteactivation exercises is the step up. Now many people do these incorrectly and push off the bottom foot but if you transfer all the work to the foot on the box and pull yourself up you better activation and muscle engagement

No you can’t sit with us!!!!! Its amazing how having training partners pushes you to push harder, for some reason or another you don’t want to let them down. Aren’t human beings strange??? I mean people can’t train let alone make it to the gym without having a personal trainer, and no it is not because of the amazing programming its because the fact someone is waiting for you at the gym, you have to go! 
Boggles my mind! Hey it keeps me in business, so I don’t mind, but if you are that person but cannot afford a personal trainer, find a buddy to train with, that way you also have someone waiting for you at the gym.

I mean people can’t train let alone make it to the gym without having a personal trainer, and no it is not because of the amazing programming its because the fact someone is waiting for you at the gym, you have to go!

How many times you said that you don’t have time for exercising?

I know I did too many times. But if I knew that exercising will help with my health I would start it much earlier.
.
We do this because we don’t see this as our priority.
We don’t keep our health as a priority until it is too late
.
Why we don’t want to prevent everything instead of later dealing and paying for health services (and they are not a small amounts)
.
Back problems because we are sitting at our desks, heart problems, breathing problems... all those can be prevented by doing minimum 30 minutes of exercises per day. And what is 30 minutes? Nothing. It’s 2% of your total daily allowance.
Really, don’t have 30 minutes for yourself and your health?
.
I have couple of moves for you to try. Those will help you build that strong 💪 body. Each move do for 1 minute. And remember to focus on your form. Form over speed!
.
And if you want more, you can always join me in the next group. It’s fun when you can chose from hundreds of different workouts so you are not bored and you do what YOU like to do!
.
Stop looking at exercising as a punishment but start looking at it like something what can save your life and most importantly, priorities yourself 💕

recently I’ve been getting a lot of messages asking how I built my confidence up in the gym, and how I started lifting weights, if I started with at home workouts etc etc. ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
I wish there was something I could say to make you feel confident at the gym, but sadly there are no right words, as confidence comes from within. To be confident, you need to stop caring about what other people think. Stop comparing yourself and focus on the positivity of your own self. If you think somebody is judging you, remind yourself that is a “them” problem and not a “you” problem. ⠀⠀⠀

My weight lifting journey started when I was running track, so I was able to ease into it with my coach and physio but eventually started going alone. Of course it was intimidating, but I took that chance and years later never looked back. ⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
A little quote that I love, “the quickest way to gain self confidence is to do exactly what you are afraid to do”. So GIRL, get in that gym. Put on a cute gym outfit you’ve been waiting to wear, throw on your favourite playlist and walk in to that gym like you own the place. Do your workout and get lost in the feeling of sweat, endorphins and good music, and I PROMISE you will feel 100 x better when you are done ✨💖⠀⠀⠀
