Gestern Abend habe ich eine Email erhalten, über welche ich mich unheimlich gefreut habe.
Es gibt noch weitere Bilder meiner Wettkampfsaison😍
Ein Fotograf hat sie mir freundlicher Weise zukommen lassen.
Wenn ich an diese Zeit zurück denke bekomme ich Bauchkribbeln.
Die Medaille ist dabei sogar völlig egal.. Es sind einfach Erinnerungen fürs Leben!
Die mir niemand mehr nehmen kann. Niemand!
Ich bin gespannt was das Leben noch alles für mich bereithält.
Werde ich jemals nochmal so in Form sein?
Jemals nochmal auf der Bühne stehen?
Nochmal solche Erfahrungen und Emotionen erleben?
Das wird sich zeigen!
Man weiss nie was das Leben alles so mit sich bringt. Daher sollte man jeden noch so schönen Moment in vollen Zügen geniessen, nichts bereuen und einfach das tun wonach einem ist.
Wenn ich mir in 30 Jahren diese Bilder ansehen werde, werde ich mit ganz großer Wahrscheinlichkeit keine Wettkampfathletin mehr sein 😅

It pains me to say this, but we’re home from vacation 😭Back to cold, snowy Wisconsin. The good news is that I ate whatever I wanted on this trip and I only gained 1 pound! Now it’s back to the grind, I got 2 workouts in today 💪🏻

🌶 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗢𝗙

The short film I made of Saltburn Pier wasn’t a paid project, it was a labour of love.

I finished a shoot in London on Friday around 5pm and got home an hour later. We loaded up the car with camera gear and a dog, then set off for Saltburn - a 5 hour journey.

The sunrises over Saltburn pier are legendary (google them) so as we settled in bed at around midnight, I set my alarm for 5:30am hoping to capture something spectacular...what actually happened was the alarm went off, I looked outside only to see a rather cloudy, wet and quite frankly miserable seascape.

The warm bed was very tempting...but I decided to go for it. We woke up the pooch, who wasn’t too happy, and headed for the beach (a mere 30 second drive down the hill). Wrapped up nice and warm, Kathryn walked the dog, who by now was loving life - he didn’t expect to be on a beach by 6am - as I set up the shots and filmed what I could before the inevitable rain came. ——————————————————— I really enjoyed putting the footage together and creating the film - even though it was only a short edit - and it made me realise something...good things happen when you get out of bed.

I was so close to getting a couple of extra hours of sleep; but I didn’t. I got my coat and hat and braved what was quite frankly, typical north-eastern UK beach weather in November!

Was I disappointed there was no flame red sunrise? Absolutely. Would I do the same thing again if I had the chance? Absolutely.

Every single day I talk to people who want to do what I do & make and income from their cell phones but in the next breath they give me a hundred different reasons why they can’t. “I don't know many people."
"I'm from a small town."
"I can't afford to start."
"I'm not good at talking to people."
"I'm not good at social media."
"I'm too busy." But here's the thing... You can give me every excuse in the book as to why you don't think you should join, 𝑩𝑼𝑻 you only need 𝑶𝑵𝑬 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒐𝒏 why you should to make it all worth it!
Look at your family, your life & your future. Are you comfortable with where you are or do you want 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆?
What would it be like to have more to put into savings so you can retire someday? Or money during school? Or more to save for a house? What about more 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 with your family without giving up an income?
What if you could say 𝒚𝒆𝒔 to the kids extra activities and not stress about the added expense? More money to travel? More to give and bless others with? 𝑴𝒐𝒓𝒆.... Like I said, you only need 𝒐𝒏𝒆 reason to join to silence all of the excuses you've made in the past. Even if you don't believe you'll be successful, I believe in 𝒀𝑶𝑼! I believe in your dreams and your goals and I will help you 𝒇𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 for them!

Are We A Healthy Ireland? 👩‍⚕️

👩‍⚕️ Today the latest wave of Healthy Ireland data was published! Healthy Ireland surveys are annual surveys conducted to measure the health of the Irish adult population (aged 15+). A representative sample of over 7000 adults make up the population of this annual study - including employed and unemployed persons. Data like this, while subject to it's own limitations, is VERY useful as at a population level, we can examine each year how the health of the nation is doing. This survey was taken between Sept 2018 & 2019. Questionnaires & in person assessments are used.

👩‍⚕️ So what were some key findings?
.
.
🚬SMOKING: 17% of Irish adults smoke - which continues a consistent DOWNWARD trend! This figure was 23% in 2015 & keeps us on track for our tobacco control programme which aims to get that figure down to less than 5% by 2025. 40% of smokers made an attempt to quit in the previous 12 months, with 1 in 4 being successful. Health concerns were the primary motivator for quitters & most people supported plain cigarette packaging with health warnings. .

😴 SLEEP: Irish adults get on average 7.1 hours of sleep per night, while those aged 15-24 averaged 7.8 hours sleep. I'm a little surprised by that, & would be interested to see changes in the proportion getting less than 7 hours sleep a night!

🚶‍♀️ PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: This is definitely a cause of positive vibes - 46% of adults were meeting the recommended 150 minutes per week of moderate intensity aerobic activity. Yes, that's still left a LOT of room for improvement BUT that figure was 32% just 4 years ago!

🧘‍♀️ SEDENTARY BEHAVIOUR: The average sitting time was 5.1 hours for adults on weekdays - 4.4 hours on weekend days. .
.
👩‍⚕️ HEALTH INEQUALITIES: Importantly, the prevalence of smoking, overweight & obesity were significantly HIGHER among those living in the most deprived areas vs. that of those in the most affluent. We see this consistently year on year & a LOT more needs to be done to tackle it. .

You guys!!! 2 things about this picture make me REALLY happy! First, I decided to go sugar free for 30 days because I was seriously going WAY overboard with the treats and well, Halloween was right around the corner 🍫🍬🍭 and I’m an all or nothing kinda gal, #noselfcontrol . I’ve almost reached my 30 days and I’ve seen major changes in my body AND my mood, yay for that 🙌🏽! I even feel confident enough to tuck my tank into my pants, who am I??? With the amount of research I was doing, it surprises me how long it took to learn about this major muscle that is the CORSET of the core:

The transverse abdominis (or TVA).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While the ‘six pack’ sits on the top, the TVA holds in the gut, cinches the waist (oh!) and supports the entire torso. To activate it, clench the muscle you would if you were bracing yourself for a punch to the gut 💥🥊

"Egun on" y "agur", Buenos días y adiós. Dos palabras en #euskera (lengua vasca) que aprendí y escuché repetidas veces en la tierra de mis bisabuelos.
Hoy me fui de #Bilbao, una ciudad que viví bajo la lluvia y el frío otoñal. Un choque entre lo gris y la búsqueda de la modernidad. Rara, un poco desconcertante. No fue de mis favoritas, pero pasé allí más de una semana y viví experiencias de todo tipo. Aprendizaje puro y emocional.
Llegué a #España con un montón de expectativas, personales y profesionales. Buscando crecimiento, respuestas e ideas sobre cómo seguir este camino que elegí para mi trabajo y mi vida.
Hoy termina otro #viaje, quizás con menos novedad que el anterior. Mismo idioma, las costumbres de nuestros abuelos, #argentinos por doquier y quiera o no con una experiencia previa similar, Suiza e Italia 2018.
El año pasado volví maravillada, #Italia se sintió como uno de mis lugares en el mundo. Volví llena de ilusiones y ganas de ir por más. Eso me motivó a buscar posibilidades y abrirme mi propia puerta en esta ocasión.
Esta vez, creo que fue un viaje de poner los pies en la tierra. Pero para impulsarme un poco más. Me quedo con esta frase que hace no muchos días me dijo un vasco: "Tu tienes algo en las manos, se ve un no sé qué en tus dibujos. Y has tenido los cojones para venir desde Argentina" ("Y eso que no entiendo de arte", aclaró).
Si algo me queda claro, es que me muero de ganas por seguir proyectandome y poniendo esfuerzos para ir cada día un poco más lejos. Pero cada vez con las metas más claras. Esto ya no es sólo probar suerte.

Running is...my free therapy, a gateway to release, be free, discover new places, learn about myself, get creative, listen to music, talk to God + my journey.
Running isn’t only about staying active or fit. It’s a lifestyle! I’ve always been an avid believer that ANYONE can run + love it or at least enjoy it! If you know me, I’ve either invited you to run, have ran with you or have encouraged you + provided training tips. It doesn’t matter how far or fast you run, it’s about your journey!
Tips to make your experience count:
1. SHOES I cannot stress enough. Your shoes must not be worn + provide the proper support for your body.
2. Activewear. We all want to look trendy but wear clothing that tailors to the weather, is comfortable + sweat resistant.
3. Fuel your body. Prior to running hydrate + eat carbs at least 30 minutes before. I’m a freak of nature + don’t drink water during my run but if you’re a beginner hydrate during. After your run eat proteins or a smoothie to get your sugar level back to normal + replenish with electrolytes.
4. Set realistic goals. Run for for 2 minutes, walk for 2 minutes. Build your endurance + expand your lungs. As you become more conditioned reduce the amount of walking minutes.
5. Plan! How many minutes or how many miles you want to complete. Where + when you’ll run. Change it up to keep you stimulated. This sparks interests in the brain + gets you looking forward to the run!
6. PLAYLIST! Create a playlist that isn’t all one genre or music you like. Experiment with different music.
7. Don’t put pressure on yourself or overthink! Just go!

I am so sick of people thinking they will succeed in anything after month of work, even hard work, it won't make a difference. It took me 2 years to start winning in Forex, it took me 9 years of everyday training to become professional sportsman. AND YOU STILL WONDER WHY YOU ARE NOT WINNING AFTER 2,3 OR 6 MONTHS OF HUSTLE?

You will come to a place where you want to quit. And you probably will. 90% does. This 10% will stay persistent, but still only 1% will make it. Why? Because you like Netflix, you celebrate every Saturday and drink with your "friends" while from inside you are all unhappy and want something more. Stop doing it to yourself and get on to work.

No matter what work. It can be cleaning, programming, sports, trading. shelves maker, whatever... I don't judge you even if you want to work 9-5, but if you are just going there "pro forma" then better don't. Go make it, be the best colleague of month, of year, have the most assingments made, whatever! Just give yourself in 100% whatever you do.

People used to ask me, why you are playing so hard even while playing cards. Because I hate losing. I hate not being the best, I hate someone outwork me and outplay me. He may do it once or twice, but better be sure I am going to come at you hard third time. And every after that. When I clean, I clean to the last spot. When I play, I play till the last second. When I work, I work till everything is done.

Monday came around and you were all motivated to start your lifestyle change

Then something happened, you got stressed, missed your workout, went out to eat and had something not so healthy

Then all of the sudden, your motivation went bye bye!!
In your mind, the day is ruined, there’s no way to stay on track now
Ummmm, NO!!!!!! ❌ JUST NO!!! 🚫

If you’re waiting for that PERFECT day to finally start working toward your goals....unfortunately you're gonna wait forever and never achieve them

The honest truth is that there’s never gonna be a "perfect" time or a magic time when you will actually BE ready

Instead of waiting, try to set smaller goals towards your end goal and when you reach those goals, increase them ⬆️
Things like:
🏃🏻‍♀️Go for a walk
🧘🏻‍♀️Foam roll and/or stretch
🥦Eat more veggies
🖥Get up and move around every hour
Whatever it may be, you need to do something that gets you moving in the right direction

Commit to making a small change, TODAY.
Stop waiting. Stop holding yourself back.

Never Compare Your Chapter 1 to someone elses
Chapter 20.
This 5 weeks transformation actually took me 10 years !

Since I was 19, Ive been trying and failing and trying and failing. I even quit a few times and said this is not for me.
Until one day I decided to get a coach. That was 2 years and 8 months ago.
It was literally the BEST decision/investment I've ever made in my life.
Many people didn't grow up learning to invest in their health.

They only learn to invest in education and material things. (Definitely nothing wrong with investing in knowledge btw, im just being factual here)

I am so happy and grateful I have transcended that mindset !

Before I invested in alcohol, friends, parties, clothes, bags, shoes, vacations.
Before I didn't have enough money to have a personal trainer but had enough money to buy rum, the latest pitbull jeans, shoes and travel all over.
Before I couldnt drink all that water, it was too much but I could have drank a lot of alcohol in an hour !
Today I choose to invest in
gym memberships, healthy food, protein supplements (LOL), gym clothes 🙈🙈😁 and self care.
This type of lifestyle requires much change and growth.
It doesnt happen overnight.
You may see big results for me in only 5 weeks but I promise you it took me 10 years to develop the MINDSET to do that.

❗️Candace & Kira Challenge Move❗️And officially @candacecbure favorite new glider move I first introduced to her a few weeks ago in LA❤️Quite timely to post today as Candace deserves ALL the accolades for keeping our hearts and homes FULL of love and laughter for over 30 years; Fuller House’s final curtain call last night was anything but CCB’s final bow (curtsy seen here😉)
🔹Looks can be deceiving and this move is a prime example of this sentiment. As beautiful as it looks holy moly, is it HARD (when done properly). Hip mobility and strength is tested as well as glute, quad, inner/outer thigh strength. BOTH sides are working hard - the anchor leg in terms of strength and stability, the moving leg (side) in terms of mobility and strength
🔹Alignment is EVERYTHING so I HIGHLY suggest performing this in front of a mirror to watch your body as you must make sure the anchor leg knee and hip stays planted (do not let the knee adduct or abduct, turn in or out). You need to press firmly into the glider and move at a slow controlled pace
🔹the most challenging moment is the transition out of the drop squat (curtsy lunge) to re-trace the half circle with the moving leg. Take your time and focus. Again, watch the anchor leg to make sure alignment is on point
🔹aim for 6 SLOW reps per side, 3 sets. Any brand glider will do, or get creative and use a towel, coffee filter, swifter, socks etc..
⚡️this is a great bonus move to add to the “Lower Body/Core *gliders*” workout on the #KSFAPP [LINK IN PROFILE]
