It all started close to 10 years ago at this point... [crazy to think].

I wanted a bigger chest, thick shoulders, and a crisp six-pack.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After a couple years of trial & error, ups & downs, and almost quitting more than once, I finally found information that was clear and made practical sense.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It wasn’t focused around a certain supplement, a particular food group, or a specific rep range.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It was balancing energy intake, training progressively, and understanding specific questions don’t come with universal answers.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But more importantly than understanding the process... Fitness has improved my life in ways so much deeper than just a physical appearance -
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-> it’s taught me grit
-> it’s taught me patience
-> it’s taught me consistency
-> it’s taught me to deal with adversity
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
and above all... it’s provided me with a career to help others improve their appearance and mindset as well.

Just as others once did for me [and still do].

PIZZA CHICKEN 🍕🍗 (also could be called chicken parmesan haha! Which do you prefer??) easy lunch or dinner meal prep 🙌🏼🙌🏼

🥦 2 cups veg (1 1/2 cup frozen broccoli - stir fry with an oil spray, no need to defrost + 1/2 cup diced, canned tomatoes)
🍗 4-5 oz protein (1 chicken breast)
🧀 100-200 calories fats (1 slice mozzarella cheese)
⏱ Line baking sheet with tin foil & spray with an oil spray. Bake chicken for 30 minutes or until gets to 165 degrees (use a meat thermometer) at 400 degrees. Top with tomatoes & cheese and bake for another 5 minutes! Season with garlic salt & basil 🌿

It's a new week and a new beginning. Today I read a few post of people who were beating themselves up or feeling down about their eating habits or the weight loss progress. I wanted to post this for everyone to read when you have those off days where you feel horrible or are feeling down and out.

Don't dwell on what you eat or workouts that you didn't do. That day has come and gone! Don't beat yourself up over it.

Remember everyday is a new opportunity to have a great eating day and work towards achieving your goals!

You have the power within you to change and achieve your weight loss goals!

The photo on the left, taken in February of 2018, was my official “goodbye” photo. Not just a goodbye to my body, but a goodbye to the life I was living. A goodbye to the girl who I didn’t love, and a “hello” to the girl on the left.

The photo on the left was taken just now, before I embark on this 100 day journey of workouts, good nutrition, and straight up SELF LOVE.
.
If you’ve seen my stories lately, you may have seen the fact that I stepped on the scale for the first time in months - and that I gained back 10 pounds of the 40 I had initially lost. When I saw it though, I wasn’t even upset. It’s like it didn’t even phase me, and for that I am SO thankful.
.
So why am I sharing this with you? I’m sharing it with you because we ALL have seasons of life that simply aren’t kind to us. The months of April May and June for me were filled with more anxiety, sadness, worry, emotional exhaustion, and burnout I’ve ever experienced in such a short amount of time, and I STOPPED filling my cup.
.
I started eating fast food a little bit more. I stopped waking up early. I didn’t press play on my workouts. I was mentally and emotionally exhausted from all of the external factors in my life. I let my excuses take over, let the negativity settle in, and stopped doing the things I knew had once helped me. But throughout it all, I maintained that confidence I had developed over the last 16 months, and I still loved the person I was.
.
And although it showed in the scale, I can honestly say without any doubt, that when I look at the photo on the right, I FINALLY see a beautiful, strong, and confident women who CAN do difficult things.
.
So I’m saying goodbye to the girl on the right again, because I’m about to go all in with this 100 day program, and I’m taking back my health and most importantly my MINDSET.

OH-M-G,  dinner tonight was way too good!! Crockpot pot beef boneless ribs with pancetta!! You gotta love it when meat is so tender it melts in your mouth, Mmm,Mmm,Mmm- ...skipped lunch and ate 3 of these beautiful pieces of beef...Day 1 in the books #bettertogetherzerocarb, feeling fantastic ✌

For this #simpleketo meal, I simply laid a couple ounces of diced pancetta in the crock, salted my ribs and set it on low for 8 hrs!! Doesn't get much easier than that💯

When people tell me they 💜 the content I post & that it has educated or helped them...that’s the BEST validation.
•
The majority of us struggles w/ some level of body image discomfort, health obstacles, weight loss struggles, &/or food issues, etc...& I am no exception.

We are all just trying to become better versions of ourselves. If I can help someone peel away the layers, figure out their reasons for improving, feel even a little bit better, & find some understanding & patience on their journey, my day is made.

Bell peppers are a tasty, colorful, & low calorie snack that are also extremely nutritious. Bell peppers are packed with vitamin C, A, water, & antioxidants. They’re also low in calories & a good source of additional vitamins & minerals like vitamins E, B6, K1, potassium & folate.

One common misconception is that the different colored peppers are all the same plant, just at different stages of ripeness. However, that is not true. While it is true that some green peppers in the grocery store are unripe red peppers, each color has its own unique seed and they all come from different plants. .
Green peppers- are the most bitter out of all the peppers. They contain vitamin C, but have the least amount of it compared to the others. They are also a great source of vitamin A, potassium, folate, and vitamin E. It is possible that some of the green peppers you see in the store may be unripe red peppers, however they never turn into yellow or orange ones.

Our mindset before, during and after eating food is entirely based on how much we like it, need it and know about it. We like to simplify actions as good and bad, because it’s easier that researching the true nutritional worth of the food we eat. But sometimes what we believe is not always the reality.

Viewing eating experiences as good and bad is useless if we want to understand what consumption actually means for us. And whilst the ‘good/bad’ mindset appears like it may only impact isolated food choices here and there, it actually impacts the next food choice. And the next... and so on until one’s entire dietary intake morphs into one gargantuan clusterfuck of useless nutritional perceptions based on a fallacy.

Being bad means one has to be good the next time they eat. Then being good means one ‘deserves’ to be bad. Then the guilt from being bad again means one has to be punished with miserable meals for days. And so on. It never ends. -

But there is a way to counter this cycle of emotional hell. The answer is knowledge. With appreciation of the basic nutritional information of the food we eat, we can replace false elation with calm choice. And unnecessary guilt with awareness of our overall dietary intake over time. -

Understanding the very basic science behind fat loss/gain and appreciating how our food choices/behaviours impact our subsequent dietary decisions is the benchmark for living a life where food is enjoyed, optimal health is nourished and compositional ideals are met. -

I am no more special than you.  I wake up with the same opportunity of trying to be better than yesterday, just like you. Am I size 0? Nope.  Am I the most ripped? Nah.  Do I have weekends where I fall flat on my face with food and exercises--umm hello lady!  I never claim to be a picture perfect fitness page, nor will I ever be.  I'm seriously just an average woman who worked hard to lose weight, has daily (some days HOURLY struggles) and got blessed to share it with people who wanted to tune in.  It's funny, this past week I reconnected with someone from grade school and he told me "I still remember riding the bus with you and you got picked on so much but you would always look back at those girls who'd throw gum in your hair and say "ya--well, I'll be something really cool when I get older! I'll help people instead of hurt people like you!" (Ya I was THAT cheesy in grade school. Still am 😁) But when he randomly messaged me this week through Facebook he said "and it's so cool to see how you are, but in a way you probably didn't think you would!" This week has been a crazy ride and I'm still holding on, but I've been tossing around the idea of just "taking that leap of faith" and training full time.  Online and in person. Opening up my own one on one training facility and still training clients online. If I fall flat on my face, I can say I at least chased a dream and tried, right!!
