Physique update from 2 days ago... 6 days #postpartum. 74 kilos (12.9 kg’s lighter than the day before I gave birth) The body can do some incredible things, but this wasn’t something expected 😌I haven’t trained since birth and have no ambition to do so for the next while, honestly I just wanna lay and stare at our baby girl 🧡🥰 We treasure every moment. ••

Had to grind this one out, felt really tired. Back is rounded on the deadlifts which I’m not happy about but it’s something to work on. Squats feeling more comfortable with each workout.

Trap bar deadlift - 3 sets of 12 x60kg
Standard squat - 8 sets of 2 x60kg

Been having some issues and a lot of pain in my Vastus Medialis for the past two weeks so I can't do any high-bar squats. Therefore, yo boi started practicing low-bar squats. Ended up working up to 192kg(425#) with some acceptable depth. Also beltless deadlift felt relatively good and worked up to 224kg(495#). Funny thing is I have 4 pairs of lifting shoes and now with this I just, barefoot squat has never felt better.
Hopefully I'll be back to the usual high-bar squats in a month.🤞🤞

It’s honestly CRAZY how that time of the month can take you from being motivated as hell and ready to take on the world to wanting staying in your pj’s, eating the whole world in food, emotional/angry for no reason, low in confidence, super tired, no energy, not able to sleep well, hot/cold, not wanting to move from your bed (the list goes onnnnn...) and don’t even talk about socialising, that’s a big no no from me🙅🏼‍♀️

I feel like this needs to be spoken about more often as it happens every single month, yes sometimes one month is worse/better than others, but it happens and can leave you feeling SH*T. It’s hard to change the way you feel at these times but finding something that can make you feel slightly better is a great way to start!
.
This effects my mood massively and I can hate everyone and anyone for no reason at all. The only way I can make a slight change to this is to exercise (although it is the last thing I want to do at the time).
.
This post is to remind you all that’s it’s okay to feel rubbish (and all those other things above) every once in a while but try and find something that makes those times slightly better and know that when you feel good after this little dip you’re gonna feel even better, more motivated and ready to take on the whole UNIVERSE and more next time! 🌍💫☄️

⚜️I used to take four shots every night before bed.
▫️
⚜️I would stare at the shot glass for what felt like eternity to muster the courage to toss it back.
▫️
⚜️No, I wasn’t an alcoholic. The dark liquid that burned my throat on the way down wasn’t cheap whiskey.
▫️
⚜️It was olive oil.
▫️
⚜️120 calories per tablespoon shot, multiplied by four tablespoon, was an extra 480 calories a day.
▫️
⚜️I needed it.
▫️
⚜️I was struggling to put on size and was doing everything I could to pack on some pounds.
▫️
⚜️I got bigger and stronger, thats for sure. But damnit did I get sick.
▫️
⚜️Very sick.
▫️
⚜️Fast forward years later and I still sometimes pour the occasional shot of olive oil into my bedtime shake.
▫️
⚜️But I have a system now. I have a tried and proven system for not just gaining body mass and strength, but maintaining it. I’d like to share that with you.
▫️
⚜️My body wants to be 195 pounds. And if left to my own devices, my appetite and NEAT automatically regulate to that set point. I’m 226 right now, and have to make it a conscious effort every day to hold that weight.
▫️
⚜️It’s not easy, but like anything else it simple takes a plan, hard work, and consistency.
▫️
⚜️I’ll supply the plan, but I need you to bring the hard work and consistency.

@mariapara_04 hit the platform late Saturday afternoon and had an incredible performance going 3/3 in the snatch which gave her 4th after the first half of the competition.

Getting called for a press out on her second attempt clean & jerk she can back and crushed 79kg.

Super proud to see Maria out on the National Platform for the first time and ready to get back to training.

Big shout out to @weightlifting_pop for awesome work in the back room

Guess who managed to do EVERYTHING on their workout schedule this week🙋🏽‍♀️I fitted in all sessions and got all of the cardio in too! Quite pleased with myself as this is the first time I’ve done everything Georgie has put on my calendar😅I sometimes don’t have enough time for cardio, as I prioritise the weightlifting session and only have one hour to get a session in before work🙄
It’s sunday self reflection time so my goals for the week are as follows:
✨ drink 3L of water a day (I did this all last week and noticed a HUGE difference - especially when checking in)
✨ get on top of my messages and emails! I tend to open them but forget to reply😭
✨ get in all of my sessions again🤞🏼going to try my best to fit in the cardio where possible
✨ keep hitting 10k steps a day
✨ make more quality time for myself and my boyfriend (less time on my phone and more time taking in what’s going on around me😇)
✨ keep checking up on family and friends - you never know when people are going through a rough patch👀
I hope you’ve all had a good weekend! What’s your goals for this week?♥️
