Ignoring my dirty ass mirror, I have been clean for 3 years now (November 13th). Since getting clean, I have put on more weight than I ever thought I would.
Some days I feel down about it, other days I don’t mind.
I took this picture of my legs to remind myself I am still small, even with extra weight on me. That being “small” doesn’t matter. I am still worthy of love from others, even though I weigh more and take up more space than before.
I am worthy of the absolute best in life. I am strong, I am a warrior. 🤍

Slowly starting to gain some weight and never felt happier! Appetite is increasing and energy levels peaking! •

No doubt this has been a slow process and will still continue to be. Everyone grows and progresses at their own pace and at the end of the day, little improvements no matter how long it takes to get there is a step in the right direction. What I’ve learnt is that it is okay if you aren’t exactly where you want to be. Learning what works for you is part of the process. Yeah mistakes will be made and there will be tough days, but in the end a goal wouldn’t be a goal if it was easy. Accepting the hard decisions will help you to become stronger not just physically but mentally too •

Fashion in the last 4 years has always been some kind of a way out for me. From when I moved to college my style as myself has changed a lot. But lots of things came along with the “love for fashion”. First of all I would like to admit that I haven’t been the “Recovery girl of the year” but actually I’ve gained lot of weight, I almost had a relapse and I came back to college for the new semester and since then I’ve being binging like a lot. As I was saying from the start, clothes for me have always been a way out to express myself. Yes, I think mostly that clothes and fashion etc etc are not only a piece of fabric but a way to reinvent yourself daily and discovering who you are through your style along the way. When I was anorexic fashion for me was “complicated” cause I couldn’t fit in any proper size anymore and everything turned to be me in clothing for kids. While “growing up” out of my ED, my size changed to, but at this point in which I gained even more weight from where I told myself to stop, I just watch at my clothes and see nightmare. I always took an item from my wardrobe and ask myself would this fit me anymore? The answer to that is: if it doesn’t fit, buy a new one. But all I feel is guilty and shame, every time I have a meal all I can think about is: I’m going to get fatter. All I can think about is my family and their discontent and jokes about me being more “fuller”. But the worst thing of all is that I can’t stop eating. It really hurts me cause I’m always out there trying to be this proactive body positivity person which I can’t be for myself in any way. I think about festivity and all the stuff I’m gonna eat and my head it feels like exploding. I don’t feel confident or comfortable in my body at all. I feel like somebody gave me this fuller body and skin which I don’t want cause it’s not who I am, but either way I don’t have energy for being my ex anorexic self anymore. So the only wish I have for this Xmas is to accept my body for what it is and is capable of, even if I’m not a size 0 anymore and it hurts like hell.

You know what feels so good? The fact that I haven’t weighed myself in over 2 weeks and that I’ve eaten out multiple times this past week with Thanksgiving being Thursday. Without a second thought behind it🙌🏼.

I used to freak out around this time of the year. I wouldn’t see my friends because I had to be “perfect until Thanksgiving”. And then, I’d normally end up going to something, saying screw it and eating more than “planned”, then come home & force myself to throw up or if not that, do extra cardio the next day. All so I could check my abs in the mirror and make sure I still had them (funny how they stay around somewhat even without all that).

It feels SO FREAKING GOOD to trust myself and trust that my body’s signals don’t lie to me. I know I can eat out 1-2x a week and order something relatively healthy (or not sometimes lol) and still reach my goals. I know that I can relatively maintain what I have right now without being super rigid & strict everyday (I’ll do an update caption on all of this soon). I feel zero pressure to be “good” this week because it’s just a lifestyle now.

Sometimes, I forget that many people are stuck in the cycle that I was on the left. And those emotions and thoughts are so real in the moment. All you think about is food and your body. You never trust yourself. But I honestly wouldn’t take it back. I’ve overcome so much and I can look back and say, “dang, YOU DID THAT”🙊💃🏼.

I think a lot of where I am today is due to me being such a nerd with science. Knowledge makes the journey so much more empowering & enjoyable. And that’s what I aim to do here! Let’s be considerate this holiday season with how we word things. Some people are in a good place with food and can joke about it but some people truly are struggling. I’m here to just spread some positive vibes! But I’m def ready for some pie 🥧.

I gained 25 pounds this year. ⁣

Yes you read that right. I don’t often weigh myself but I did notice that my face was rounder in photos, my double chin would appear and sometimes my skirts wouldn’t zip all the way up. ⁣

I’m not happy that I gained weight but I’m not sad either. This is just my body. Bodies change. One day I might weigh less or I could weigh more. Some people may think I’m fat, some might consider me thin. What I do know is that it doesn’t really matter 🤷🏼‍♀️ ⁣

I think back to when I was in high school and I was a size 4 and still thought I was fat. I look back and wonder why I thought that?! & why did I think “fat” was the worst thing I could be? All I know is that right now, when I look in the mirror I feel pretty & my doctor hasn’t raised any concern. I want YOU to know that everybody and EVERY BODY is beautiful. There is no body like yours & I would love to see you shine ✨ ⁣
