Why go vegetarian?
私の家族は別にベジタリアンではありません。ですが、私は今年にベジタリアンになることを決意しました。なんで私はベジタリアンになったのか?それは環境のためです!🌍 家畜は地球温暖化に大きな影響を及ぼします。育てる土地を確保するため、餌を育てるために森林伐採が進んでいます。また、特に牛はメタンを放出し、メタンは二酸化炭素の23倍の熱を閉じ込めます。排出量の14.5%は家畜によるもので、これは車、船、トラック、飛行機の排出量とほぼ同じです。

確かに私1人だけでは地球温暖化は変わらないと思います。しかし、このように発信したり、周りの人の意識を少しずつ変えていくことで、なにか地球のためにできるかのではないかと思って私はベジタリアンを選びました。

I chose to go vegetarian so that I can do something to combat global warming.
Livestock accounts for 14.5% of emissions, about the same amount as car, truck, ship, and airplane emission combined. (Nytimes) This is because the livestock industry accelerates deforestation in order to reclaim land for livestock. Also the methane produced from cows have 23 times the power to trap heat than CO2.
Although me becoming a vegetarian has only little effect on the environment, I chose to go vegetarian to influence the ones around me and spreading the idea of “vegetarianism” through this account to make a bigger change. I hope that I can influence people in Japan to try vegetarian or eat planet-friendly meals.

Just over 2 weeks of going vegetarian for Harfi's #8weekstoabetterchristmas 🥑🍆🥝🥦 The transition has been mostly smooth and I haven't noticed any major shift in energy or fatigue levels yet. I have been eating much larger portions in general and calorie intake has certainly gone up resulting in an increase in weight of a couple of kg (not necessarily a bad thing as I have been trying and failing to put on a few kg over the past 6 months). It is still way too early to make any major conclusions but so far so good! #vegetarianlife #harfiinspo

Ich muss nun einfach mal meine Gedanken mit euch teilen. Obacht, es könnte lang werden.
Freitag Abend war ich mit meinem Mann essen. In diesem Restaurant war für jeden etwas dabei: ob man nun Fleisch konsumiert, vegetarisch oder vielleicht vegan lebt. Finde ich gut, denn so habe auch ich als fast Veganerin alles, was mir schmeckt.

Das eigentliche, was mich unglaublich geärgert hat, waren unsere Tischnachbarn. Ich bin eigentlich keine Person, die andere Gespräche belauscht, weil ich das unhöflich finde. Dafür haben wir immer selbst genügend über dies und das zu quatschen. Aber dieses mal musste es sein.

Diese vier (vielleicht an die 30 Jahre alten) Personen unterhielten sich darüber, was denn der Unterschied zwischen vegetarisch und vegan sei, was das ausmacht und ohje, was man denn alles nicht mehr essen darf. Schlussendlich kamen sie zu dem Punkt, dass diese Lebensweise so oder so "behindert" sei. Dann haben sie gelacht und vier Rinderfiletstückchen zurück gehen lassen. Da war das Auge wohl größer als der Magen.

Ich verurteile keine Menschen, die gerne Fleisch essen. Wenn sie es wollen, nur zu. Ich habe damit kein Problem. Aaaber, muss man deswegen andere Lebensweisen verurteilen, nur weil man es selbst nicht als "normal" empfindet oder nicht kennt, sich nicht vorstellen kann? In unserer heutigen Zeit, in der alles möglich ist? Das kommt dann halt dabei raus, wenn man sich nicht umfangreich mit einem Thema beschäftigt und es lieber gleich als "behindert" abstempelt. Uns hat es wirklich gejuckt, einen Kommentar abzugeben, aber wir haben es dann gelassen.
Zum Glück akzeptieren in meinem Umfeld mittlerweile alle, wie ich mich ernähre. Dafür bin ich sehr dankbar.

Całość zalałam wodą, dodałam kostkę warzywną. Sól, troche magi, pieprz (do smaku oczywiście 😁)
Gdy wszystko robiło się miękkie dodałam pół szklanki mleka kokosowego i szklankę mleka (u mnie bez tłuszczu) i zblendowałam.

We all know we should eat our vegetables, but how often do we fill our plates with them? It can be hard to eat enough veggies when you don’t have a tasty way to prepare them. These roasted veggies are not only delicious, but they are extremely simple to make. It’s as easy as chopping vegetables and throwing them in the oven! Choose any combination of your favorite veggies. Note: baking time will be longer for root vegetables like potatoes and carrots. 🥦🥔🥕


Ingredients:
1 red bell pepper
1 yellow bell pepper
1 summer squash
1 small head of broccoli
1/2 red onion
2 Tbsp canola oil
1 Tbsp thyme
1 Tbsp oregano
1 Tbsp chives
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 F
2. Line baking sheet with tin foil
3. Cut all veggies into similar bite-sized pieces
4. Line up chopped veggies in rows on baking sheet by color
5. Drizzle with canola oil and sprinkle all seasonings. Mix the seasonings and oil together on the veggies
6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until veggies are cooked through.
7. Enjoy!

💚Portobello sandwich with eggplant, roasted peppers, tallegio cheese, and basil pesto💚. I loved this rustic American restaurant created by Tom Colicchio. It was decorated so beautifully for fall and the open kitchen was a great touch. I could have sat there all day and watched the chefs at work. @smallbatchrestaurant .

Snack-Sized vs Meal-Sized 👶👩

I love enjoying a good chia pudding as a meal OR a snack. It’s important to look at the components that go into each!
.
👩 For chia seed pudding meals, I generally add protein powder to boost the pudding up to be between 25-30 g of protein. I also add another source of fat (almonds and almond butter) for some extra satiety.
.
👶 For snacks, I generally try to get two food groups - for the snack sized chia pudding, I have a fat (chia) and a carb (fruit). .

Toasting to Friday Tapas!💃🏻 Sharing the recipe for these ROASTED TOMATO AND FETA CROSTINIS 🍅🥖🧀 featuring the easiest roasted tomato balsamic spread, which is the perfect balance of sweet & savory! grab the delicious deets below and give it a try this weekend!👇🏼👇🏼 #vegetarianfood #saladlove .
3 cups of organic cherry tomatoes 🍅
3 tablespoons of olive oil (divided by tbsp)
3 cloves of garlic, finely minced
2 tablespoons of raw honey 🍯
2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
sea salt & pepper to taste ~1/4 tsp each 🧂

Instructions 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Preheat your oven to 400F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the tomatoes in a bowl and drizzle 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, sea salt and pepper, toss well to coat. Move the tomatoes to the baking sheet & place them in a single layer for even-roasting, do not stack. Bake for ~20-24 mins or until brown and juices start flowing. Bring a sauce pan to medium/high heat and add the remaining 1 tbsp of olive oil + the minced garlic. Stir often (garlic burns easily) and after 1-2 mins add the tomatoes & use a potato masher or wooden spoon to crush them. Add the honey and balsamic. Stir & taste- test. Lower the heat & allow them to simmer for another A~12-15 mins. The sauce will thicken nicely; kinda like a compote or jam. Once cooled- I served the sauce with crostinis topped with goat feta & basil.
Also delish over fresh pasta, white or brown rice, inside fajitas, burrito bowls, and on top of steak, salmon or chicken.

▪️150 гр пасты на выбор
▪️1/2 крупной луковицы
▪️150 гр грибов

▪️1/2 банки (200 гр) консервированных помидоров
▪️1/4 банки (100 мл) кокосового молока
▪️1 ст.л. соевого соуса
▪️1/2 ч.л. копченой паприки
▪️1/2 ч.л. лукового порошка
▪️1/4 ч.л. тмина
▪️1 банка (400 гр) фасоли
▪️2 чашки (480 мл) измельченной капусты

👩‍🍳Как готовить:
▶️Приготовьте пасту в соответствии с инструкциями по упаковке.
▶️Добавьте лук и грибы в сковороду и готовьте около 5 минут, пока грибы не размягчатся.
▶️Затем добавьте помидоры черри, консервированные помидоры, кокосовое молоко, соевый соус, копченую паприку, луковый порошок и тмин.
▶️Тушите, часто помешивая, на слабом огне около 3-4 минут.
▶️Затем добавьте приготовленную пасту, фасоль и капусту и тушите около 2 минут.

Texturized Vegetable Protein (Aka ground round or ‘fake meat’) vs legumes - which would you chose?

They will have about the same amount of protein and I am happy that there are more vegetarian meat alternatives out there. However at the end of the day, whole foods always win. Save the ground round if you’re in a rush or are just getting used to vegetarianism. Make it part of your ‘sometimes’ food vs your everyday food.
