Don't have him nap in total darkness - you could use your dining room for example. Try naps in a baby swing or something that is easy to rock. Don't swaddle him for this nap. "Don't wake the baby!" is a common phrase heard in households but actually, if you're trying to follow a sleep schedule it is okay to wake your baby from a daytime nap. A six-month-old baby needs less sleep than a newborn but they don't care what time of day they sleep. So if a six-month-old is getting the majority of the sleep she needs during the day she'll naturally need less sleep at night, which equals less sleep for you too.
