Torup slott (means castle) is beautiful piece close to Malmo in Sweden. This was built by a noble administrator as a remembrance of her son. Amazing landscape that blooms around the lake with lots of colours during the spring to winter transformation 😊 Unleash nature’s beauty!! 🍁 . #girlswhotravel #journeyofgirls #newbloggers #quadmaniacswetha #damestravel #travsololife #europe🇪🇺 #indiantravelgram #womantravel #swedenimages #swedenmylove #visitsweden #hikingskåne

SMULTRONSTӒLLE and LAGOM in SWEDEN

SMULTRONSTӒLLE literally translates as "a glade with wild 🍓 strawberries ." ℹ️ Derived from the words “smultron” (wild strawberry) and “strälle” (place). Used since the beginning of the 20th century to designate a pastoral corner in which you can hide from 🌍 the world. A personal resort where #troubles are forgotten.

LAGOM comes from the Swedish 🇸🇪 “lag” (team). According to folklore, the phrase “laget om” was used by the #Vikings, passing a full honey horn in a circle to the whole team. Everyone could have a drink 🥃, in fairness. The expression was reduced to "lag," but the meaning hasn’t changed and it means "enough."

Imagine a place 🏝 where you can hide from the world. No one will know that you are there. And even if they recognize you, they still will not bother you. You can go there if you are #stressed, if you are tired, if you have 😖 too many #worries. Some wonderful place where at first glance there is nothing special. It is the concept of smultronställe.

The Swedes enjoy 😊 being #alone, so they often choose a quiet place. In their opinion, #happiness is not in a noisy company, they are not afraid of communicating with themselves, on the contrary, they glad to be in peace and quiet. The Swedes are rather modest people and ❌ aren’t used to show the #emotions

Lagom – Swedes depart from the principle of sufficiency only with ☕️ coffee. In terms of #coffee consumption, they take third place after the #Danes 🇩🇰 and #Finns 🇫🇮. The Swedes even have the special term “tretår”, meaning the 3rd or 4th cup. All of this is part of the “ficka” ritual. “Fika” is the time when the Swedes, sitting alone, finally gather together to chat, drink coffee and eat 🍰 cake. Without #cake we can’t imagine “ficka”.

☝🏻Based on statistics, every resident of a country eats 316 cinnamon rolls per year. “Fika” says that no one can take the last cake or piece of roll. You can cut it and take a half, and then again. And again, until a crumb remains. If you eat the last piece without leaving anything to your friends, the principle “lagom” 🤷🏼‍♀️ will be violated.
