Bench: 95☑️-100☑️-105❎ grosse erreur de ma part ,j'ai relâché la tension sur la pause (vidéo indispo ) 😭 (PR+10)
Sdt : 170☑️-180☑️-190❎ réussi mais pas homologuée , j'ai un doigt qui s'ouvre j'ai l'impression que la barre va tomber ,je lâche le gainage et je retire derrière donc essai car si la barre redescend la remontée fait essaie (PR+20)

Je me sentais pas si en forme que ça mais la réussite au squat m'a donné la pêche , cependant gros point technique sur le terre à voir... Total : PR +50 par rapport aux départementales 😂

1003 lb total which is 5 lbs off my meet PR, but it's also a Wilks PR. 1st place.
I'm very happy with this meet!!! I felt great through all three lifts whereas the last few meets I've been smoked by deadlifts.
Also loved the crowd today and lifting with my @granitestatepowerlifting teammates.

I forgot that the bar weighs 32kg instead of 20kg. I always misload the SSB during squats for some reason. Squat position is starting to feel good. Took my feet out a bit wider and I think that's as far as I'll go. .

I feel pretty strong in that position, so now it's just time to get in the reps and become more familiar with the new technique. .

Cluster sets are one of the most utilized training methods for power development. It’s actually quite a simple concept - take a normal volume set, break it a part with with some rest intervals and there you go... you have the same volume, but now the average power of the set is higher than it would be otherwise. .

The key here is to make sure that the reps in the set are not higher than needed and that rest is long enough to help recover power without being too long to make it a different set. .

Squats went really well today. I missed my bench single (most likely due to failing and missing bench reps two days ago) but I got a few pointers from @hotnastystrong afterwards and applied them to my rep work and the reps were flying like never before. I finished strong with some paused deads. At this point there was a seminar going on at the gym so I decided to use bumpers to soften the noise a bit.

⁣💓 Overcoming fears 💓⠀

In order gain confidence and overcome our fears, we have to get uncomfortable! 💥⠀

One goal of mine in 2019 was pushing myself out of my comfort zone. Wether it be working out with a trainer, meeting new people or even just lifting heavier weights without worrying about others around me, I had to learn to let go of my anxiety in order to grow. 🤗⠀

The first time you try something new it can be scary, but learning to accept that anxiety is only temporary and pushing through it can be so liberating!! 💪🏻💕⠀

Without your phone or keeping it on airplane mode.

I am going to add to that and ask you to go early morning around Dawn. So you can see the sunrise and sun bathe a little (my #thrivewithselfcare community might recognize this😁) Do you know the sunlight around Dawn and dusk is super nourishing? Raise your hand if you have got vitamin d deficiency (which is like every other person nowadays). If you do, then this is what you need in your life. Also , sunlight is so good for our circadian rhythm, our sleep patterns, all our body systems, our mental + emotional health plus ALL THE OXYGEN!!! All my Delhi NCR people know how precious good fresh air is right? The air purifiers no matter how expensive ain't gonna give us that!

So you can just go for a walk or run or trek or hike. If you are an artist, take your sketch books or notepads or instruments or whatever tools of your art and be creative out there in nature. Or practice yoga. Or meditate 🥰 Or simply just go and sit and connect with nature.

Lets dive into building a calf, just like any other muscle group they all take time. Even if the calf can be a stubborn body part for most.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The calf is made up of two muscle groups the gastrocnemius and soleus. They can be broken down a bit further into other muscle groups but for simplistic sake the one that everyone cares about is the gastrocnemius (used for running and jump) and the soleus lies beneath the gastrocnemius (used for standing and walking).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What makes the difference in targeting the two different muscle groups is whether the leg is in a straight position and our knees being in a bent position.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When the knee is bent, as when doing seated calf raises, the gastroc is unable to fully stretch and, therefore, unable to strongly contract. In these bent-leg movements, only the soleus is targeted. When the leg is fully straightened, however, the gastroc is brought back into the action. Straight-legged calf exercises like the standing calf raise and donkey calf raise work both the gastroc and soleus.

Also don't forget about working the angles on your calf raise, by having your foot position inward you can target more of the inner portion of the calf while having them outward will target more outside area of the calf muscle.

💥WHY YOUR LEGS AREN’T TONED💥⁣

You work out all of the time. You’ve been doing it for years - yet your legs don’t seem to be as toned as you’d like.⁣

These are the most common problems I see with my female clients.⁣

I’ve had so many women start training with me who are just doing the same workouts over and over again with the same weights. Stop the insanity! Increase weights once you hit your prescribed rep range. Please, of course.⁣

The next two are the most important:⁣

Time. No one wants to work hard, and do it for a long time to see results. But for 95% of the population, that’s the formula for success. Keep at it. I don’t know what else to say.⁣

Reduce body fat. There is absolutely no way you will see the tone you’d like if you have excess body fat. No amount of muscle will change that. So, you can eat in a slight calorie deficit to lose fat, or you can eat at maintenance and take it slower to recomp.⁣

As far as “leg day”, yeah, you could do that as long as you’re hitting your legs 2x/week. A better solution would be to hit your legs with compound movements (and some isolation) 3x/week. You’ll see the best results in your legs this way.⁣

If you don’t have a distinct focus on the big moves: deadlifts, squats, lunges, hip thrusts, leg press, sled pushes and drags, you’re missing the target. These should form at least 80% of your lower body work.⁣

Last, but not least, you MUST consume enough protein to build and retain muscle. Most of my female clients - at least 80% - are not consuming enough protein when they start with me. When you don’t consume enough protein, your body will break down muscle to get the protein it requires. So do whatever you have to do - include protein shakes, Greek yogurt and other complete protein sources to get the job done!⁣
