They have an idea, or they go by things they hear in the media, or that they see online but they don’t know what THEIR good health looks like in their own lives.
Is this you? If it is, then take some time out and visualise. Work out exactly what it is that you want. I think my favorite self-care tip in 2019 came from my girl @elissaforever: add 1 TBS #CoconutOil to your bath 🛁 water. It makes your skin so so so nourished & it’s not hard to clean up at all.

My favorite bath “recipe” is #EpsomSalts, Coconut Oil & #AppleCiderVinegar... although I cannot remember what read that inspired me to add #ACV. Downside of being a non-stop reader.

I tend to add some #EssentialOils or tea bags depending on health benefits I’m seeking.

The ocean to me is my safe space It makes me feel expansive, calm, and at peace with the world around me. ⁣

You cannot physically see past the shoreline but instill to the human eye it looks as if it could go on forever. ⁣

It can do almost nothing and people will still stare in awe of it, worship it, & gravitate towards it. That’s not all. ⁣

I know I’m supposed to be sharing about lymphatic herbs here but it seems like everyone around me is going through some type of metamorphosis, myself included. So what does that look like?

All over the wellness industry we see different recipes and protocols for daily self care and herbs for this and that to move through turbulent times, more things to be added to overwhelming to-do lists. But to truly care for yourself… to truly LOVE YOURSELF… it goes so much deeper than this.

For me, it’s facing those deep dark truths in your heart. The little voices in your head that make you question yourself, the patterns you’ve created in your life that might not be so constructive, the pain and anxiety you carry in your heart. Where do these things come from? Just as we look to the root cause in addressing physical symptoms, we must also search for the origins of these emotional imbalances as well.

Loving yourself is being brutally honest with yourself. It’s getting to the heart of the *why* you’re stressed and it feels like your life isn’t flowing, *why* you can’t seem to make the time to pour yourself a cup of a tea during the day, *why* you’re not allowing yourself enough sleep/happiness/joy/creativity/etc in your life.

These patterns run deep, often something we’re carrying from our lineage, yet it is up to us to change it. Yesterday I had the opportunity to sit with an herbalist I deeply admire, and she reminded me of the simple act of making myself a cup of tea... a reminder of the ability to care for oneself especially if you’re taking care of others as a wife + mother + healer + practitioner.

And so I am here to remind you as well: that you CAN do this. You can love yourself more. And you can tap into the strength you already have to try just a little bit harder, because in the end no one can do it for you. 💕

✨glitter is always an option✨•

I’ve always had my nails done. I had them long + almond shape for years. My gfs would look forward to my designs and the fun shit I would do to them. Then one day I took them off. I think I was trying to get a baby necklace on + got frustrated and was like these are gone! 🤪 but honestly I didn’t really realize they were a part of my identity until I took them off. Sure I saved money, but I just didn’t feel complete. Getting my nails done is something I look forward to + it’s one of my fav creative outlets.•

What’s just one think u do for yourself? It can me as little (or big) as a shower 💕•

really have been wanting to post since my last update but honestly nothing is new in my life except for recovering from my accident, and i really didn’t want my page to be filled with anything negative. i also feel like it’s boring for people for me to keep posting about the same injury stuff, and i also never want anyone to think it’s in any way for pity. i wanted to post about it to number one, explain why i was going to be a bit absent from this account for a while, and number two, in case anyone else is going through something similar so that no one ever feels alone in going through this bc it can definitely feel isolating at times

i do always feel bad when i take time away from social media but i know it’s been for the best for me, and has really allowed me the time i’ve needed to focus 100% on recovering

▪️i’m still in treatments about 4-5 days a week & it feels a bit daunting at times because sometimes it feels like nothing is getting better. but i know i have to just stay positive and trust that things are eventually going to go back to normal▪️

I really feel like I need to yell this as loud as I can. .

There is so much stuff on the internet around good vibes only or something similar. .

It's so unhealthy. .

I say this with so much love but guess what? You are human. Humans WILL ALWAYS have emotions and you NEED negative emotions as well. Our emotions are messages that you are ignoring because of this ridiculous message. .

Here's the thing..... .

The idea that we should always feel good or be positive is shaming our emotions. .

It makes people feel like there is something wrong with them because they aren't feeling over the moon at the moment. .

It makes people suppress and hide their emotions our of fear that they won't be accepted by others or 10,000 ppl will spam them with their services. .

Instead, get intimate with yourself. Get intimate with your emotions. Lean into however the hell you are feeling. BY leaning into (instead of shaming or avoiding) will allow you to hear and feel what's really going on. What you really need and then your energy or how you are feeling will shift. .

As an Empath or an highly sensitive person, you will feel deeply, you most definitely won't be high vibe all the time and that's ok. That's perfect. .

Talk to your emotions and get to know them. Learn to be aware of what emotions are yours and what emotions don't belong to you. .

Sometimes, alone time can be just what we need to recharge.  Other times, being alone can feel isolating and lonely.  One way you can help combat feeling isolated is to make the most of your alone time.
Strategize how to schedule your alone time in a way you'll feel nourished and recharged.  That may be something completely different on different days, also!
When you want to stick around the house, you can create a spa-like evening for yourself.  You can learn a new hobby you've wanted to dabble in, plan a movie night for yourself, etc.  The limits are endless.
When you want to fill your alone time with others, you can try planning events with friends.  Make sure those times you want to have your tank filled up with loved ones, you're surrounded by friends that make you laugh and feel connected. Plan a night out at the museum, take a painting class, or do something fun that's passing through your town.

How often do we hear 👂 ‘Health is the greatest wealth’ 🥰
We hear it all the time.
We are so reactive.
What do I mean by this.
What I mean is that we are reactive in our health and across our whole lives.
Let me give you an example, we wait till we put weight on before we decide to lose it 🤦🏽‍♂‍🤦🏼‍♀‍ Which means we go through the whole process of allowing ourselves to get that way. Is that putting our health and performance first? 😕
How about we look at a different example☺️ because I know some people may find that one a bit harsh.
This isn’t just with food 🥘 Lets take lower back pain as an example. Most back pain doesn’t just occur over night, unless you have an accident/incident that was the direct cause of it, i.e. a fall. The majority of back pain comes from lifestyle, things such as: - Sitting down too much - Driving too much - Having an instability on one side of the body (this can literally be a tight bum muscle 🍑) - Tight hamstrings which leads to back pain - Tight shoulders and/or chest can directly cause back pain.
Yet we ignore the tightnesses😵 we ignore the imbalances😵 we drive a lot 🚘 and sit down a lot 💺, and then we react as SOON as we have back pain. We immediately want to get it sorted. We don’t want to live day to day in pain. We want someone to fix it, and we wonder why the back pain comes back over and over again when we return to the same lifestyle each time! 😣 its frustrating I know.
How is this relevant? 🤷🏽‍♂‍ Let me tell you 🗣
If long term health is the priority then we have to step out of reactivity and step into proactivity 🥰
Imagine proactively focussing on your own health. Instead of reacting you are focussing on being in shape, staying in shape, and being pain free 💕 Conditioning yourself for a high performing, healthy sustainable lifestyle💪🏽. And as a bonus if you do it for yourself you will teach future generations to do it 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 , which will mean your kids, friends and family will proactively stay in shape. This is not about making time for exercise. This is about planning things around your health 👌🏽💪🏽. Proactively putting your health first.

❤️ Like if you need this reminder that you DO deserve it! I’m writing this from the First Class Lounge for my relatively long train journey from London today.

1️⃣ I’ve never travelled first class on this journey before.
.
💰In reality, it only cost £20 more than a standard ticket, which is a lucky chance. It’s often a lot more. (I’m grateful I can afford that extra £20.)
.
🙄 But normally I would have told myself that it’s not worth it.
.
🤔 My brain would say things such as “Who do you think you are?”
.
❌ And I do not believe that a fancy ticket will somehow change my life. Or that buying expensive things somehow makes you “better”, or more worthy.
.
🌟 But meditation and mindfulness has taught me - along with working on my self-worth and money mindset over and over and OVER - is that these actions can be tiny signs of proof to yourself - however insignificant they seem - that YOU ARE WORTH it.
.
💁‍♀️ I deserve to be here. We all do.
.
👋 I deserve to be in this peaceful lounge and in this fancy, comfy train seat, just because I’m human, and I’m worth the space I take up. We all are.
.
📆 I have spent so many years thinking that I don’t deserve it. That I shouldn’t want nice things for my life or to make money doing work I love.
.
🏅 That I’m not good enough compared to my family/friends because they’re rich directors or bankers or lawyers.
.
🤨 Because I have chosen a less “traditional” career path, and because I’m still figuring my way to make the greatest, best version of my business.
.
❓But what if I reframe? I am still figuring my way, and that’s exciting. I deserve to take my time how I see fit.
.
🥰 And it’s moments like this that show me - I am enough. You are too.
.
✨ We can build the life we want. Yes, so many of us have privilege and we should still be grateful and aware and work hard and realise that we can’t buy our way to happiness.

⭐️ BUT. Building genuine self-belief and believing that we actually deserve what we want too - that’s golden.

I was raised with it engrained into my head to be kind to others (thanks, mom!) but what I’ve struggled with much more is being kind to MYSELF. ⁣⁣⁣

I think this is a concept that is very commonly overlooked and people just assume it is obvious that you’d be kind to yourself. Honestly, it isn’t as obvious as you’d think. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Working a few extra hours or squeezing out some productivity in lieu of much needed self care....⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Excessive self-loathing over things that I literally can’t control....⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Setting absolutely unreasonable expectations for myself and beating myself up when I inevitably don’t measure up to the ridiculous standard I set....⁣⁣

This also includes constantly putting other people’s needs in front of my own. ⁣⁣⁣

I know some of you know EXACTLY what I’m talking about. ⁣⁣
It wears on you over time, and the damage can compound, totally overwhelming you before you know what hit you. ⁣⁣⁣

I was raised with it engrained into my head to be kind to others (thanks, mom!) but what I’ve struggled with much more is being kind to MYSELF. ⁣⁣⁣

I think this is a concept that is very commonly overlooked and people just assume it is obvious that you’d be kind to yourself.  Honestly, it isn’t as obvious as you’d think. ⁣⁣

Working a few extra hours or squeezing out some productivity in lieu of much needed self care....⁣⁣⁣

Excessive self-loathing over things that I literally can’t control....⁣⁣⁣

Setting absolutely unreasonable expectations for myself and beating myself up when I inevitably don’t measure up to the ridiculous standard I set....⁣⁣

This also includes constantly putting other people’s needs in front of my own. ⁣⁣⁣

I know some of you know EXACTLY what I’m talking about. ⁣⁣
It wears on you over time, and the damage can compound, totally overwhelming you before you know what hit you. ⁣⁣⁣
