I think I’m going to have to start carrying an inflatable raft on these runs. ⚓️
I had a route planned, but when I saw a man wade through ankle-deep water (in the dark) just to cross the bike path, I turned around. 😆🙅‍♀️
This felt like a good effort in this humidity (which is actually enjoyable at 5:00am!). My heart rate was 124bpm, which surprised me, because I felt like a 🐢 wading on through. 🤔

Starting my morning with a coffee in hand & a slice of fresh made, banana bread! 🍌🍞 ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Raw Banana Bread - makes a full loaf

DRY INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup coconut flour
1/2 cup almond flour / meal
1/2 tsp Himalayan salt
1 tbsp baking soda
.
WET INGREDIENTS:
2 over ripe bananas
6 medjool dates
6 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup coconut oil melted
1/4 cup rice malt syrup 
1/4 cup almond milk
1/4 cup Greek yogurt .
.
THE TOPPING:
Handful of sunflower seeds & chia seeds
.
METHOD:
Preheat oven to 160 degrees and line a lid tray.
Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
In a food processor, combine bananas and dates until a smooth paste.
Add the rest of wet ingredients to the food processor, careful not to over mix it.
Add the dry ingredients into the food processor. Then lightly combine with wet ingredients.
Pour mixture into the loaf tray and bake for 1 hour.
Sprinkle over sunflower & chia seeds and cook for another 20 minutes or until cooked through.

Optional: add silvered almonds into mixture and stir at the end of step 5, but stir with a wooden spoon and not the food processor.

Zunächst einmal war ich laufen : Coach @anna_bercana sagt : 1 km Einlaufen, 4 km in 7:30er Pace, 1 km Auslaufen. Die 4 km waren mit 7:10 dann etwas zu schnell, haben aber tierisch Bock auf die weitere Reise gemacht. #myroadtohhhalf2020 T-346
.
Dann hab es der lieben @running.by.turnschuhheizerin nachgemacht und hab in Trier 1000 m #rentnerslalom gespielt. Eigentlich ganz okay für jemanden, der erst mit 14 schwimmen gelernt hat und Schwiimmbäder auch erst seit der Geburt des Töchterchens wieder besucht.  #teambleiente
.
Und gleich geht's noch in den Garten ein Spielgerüst abbauen. Und Handwerken kann ich noch schlechter als Schwimmen  Dabei soll doch jeder Mensch ein Talent haben ... vielleicht ist das bei mir klatschen?

Vielleicht chill ich jetzt auch erst mal auf dem Sofa ... und ihr so?

Quem conhece de treinamento de força sabe que treinar a 90% de 1RM é um treino extremamente pesado.
Millet et al (2002) realizaram um interessante estudo aonde o objetivo era verificar a influência de 14 semanas de treinamento de força de alta intensidade na performance de corrida. Foram utilizados 15 triatletas, divididos em 2 grupos: Grupo concorrente (força + endurance, 8 atletas) e Grupo endurance (sem treinamento de força, 7 atletas). Os treinos de força foram realizados 2x por semana, sendo utilizados 6 exercícios p/ MMII (Quadríceps, Isquiotibiais e Panturrilhas); 3 a 5 séries de 3 a 5 repetições, com uma carga aproximada de 90% de 1RM, sendo o teste de 1RM feito a cada 3 semanas para adequar as cargas. Como resultado o treinamento de força foi eficiente na melhora da economia de corrida e velocidade do vo2max.

É óbvio que existem necessidades específicas para cada tipo de corredor, além de fases de treinamento, limitações, entre outros fatores. O ponto é que já existem evidências científicas que validam a utilização de treinamento de força (musculação, funcional, etc..) com altas cargas para melhorar a performance de corredores (treinamento de força juntamente com os treinos de endurance, obviamente). Procure um profissional qualificado que este irá saber como prescrever sua preparação física!

A quote that stood out for me from a panelist was to do something every day that my body thanks me for. I’m on week 6 of an 18 week marathon training cycle, and the mileage is only going up from here. Yes I’m tired, yes it’s hot. Yes, I am HUNGRY. But with running (and so much else in life), my opponent isn’t someone else -  it’s myself. ⠀

I remember: I get to do this. I’m grateful to do this. And as such, I need to take care of myself so I can elevate my performance and continue to do this. Wow! I attended the RUSHOUR speaker series event last night at Under Armour Chicago for the new UA RUSH collection and was blown away. I learned so much about recovery and how UA is once again changing the game with performance enhancing gear that responds to your body. ⠀

A quote that stood out for me from a panelist was to do something every day that my body thanks me for. I’m on week 6 of an 18 week marathon training cycle, and the mileage is only going up from here. Yes I’m tired, yes it’s hot. Yes, I am HUNGRY. But with running (and so much else in life), my opponent isn’t someone else - it’s myself. ⠀


I remember: I get to do this. I’m grateful to do this. And as such, I need to take care of myself so I can elevate my performance and continue to do this. #tbt to Race #4, my very first Cruising the Creekwalk 5K. It was my first 5K of 2008 and clearly I was still into the all cotton, all the time, I don’t want to be cold at the start look. Ironically now, if it’s 40 degrees in Jan, I’m in a short sleeve, Capri dri-wicking ensemble. This is also the first of what I would call my survival series. @nd_fan_in_bama had just deployed and it was me and four kiddos for the next four months. I decided to leave the two younger boys home with our oldest son and brought my daughter to the race. Having a race to do gave me something to focus on rather than my man being gone and the craziness of being super mom. Have you ever dealt with a deployment? Hoje foi dia de MAF Teste. MAF é um  treinamento baseado na frequência cardíaca desenvolvido pelo Dr. Phill Maffetone. O objetivo dele é o de fortalecer o sistema aeróbio. Trabalhar com menos estresse fisiológico conseguindo com o passar do tempo aumentar a velocidade estando com o cárdio baixo.

O grande desafio desse tipo de treinamento é que devido ao seu condicionamento aeróbio não estar trabalhado você diminui muito a velocidade para estar dentro da FC estipulada. Então,  como diria @andreburgos tem-se que colocar o ego no bolso e ter muita paciência e constância. O resultado é de médio a longo prazo mas ele vem.

Estou começando a minha jornada. Meu objetivo é cuida de minha saúde fazendo uma das coisas que amo. Só que com a sensação de esforço ZERO!

Well well well how about that a full sweep of PBs over the past month. Obviously excluding a marathon but will get to that in Sep in Berlin :-) Have to admit I have surprised myself with how far I have come since I started running back in Oct 2017. I remember back then my target was to get a sub 1hour for a 10k while now I am thinking of sub 45mins, that is crazy when you think about it. Goes to show you that with hard work and dedication you can achieve what you thought was impossible.

Here are my targets I want to accomplish by the end of the year:

5k 00:22:00
10k 00:45:00
21k 01:45:00
42k 04:00:00 (Berlin Marathon)

You all know I love a challenge and trust me I will push myself to achieve the above. Let's see what H2 brings. If anyone wants to pace me to any of these that would be amazing so let me know. I would greatly appreciate that.

How many months will I go adding zero speed-work back in after I repeatedly tell myself I will? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Over the last 10 months I’ve had a few things that mentally beat me down, running wise, and I’ve  remained afraid to continue chasing my running goals. Running is a gift (at ANY pace) and I am always thankful to continue on. But truthfully, I miss having runs or races that made me feel proud, if that makes sense? The worst part is the main reason I avoid it is because the paces I used run are so out of reach it’s discouraging. 😭 What a baby 🍼👶🏼 I am literally standing in my own way. 🤣😫Backwards is never more fun than forward but I also know the joy that a comeback brings so I’ll focus on that. 🤞🏼💪🏼
