Is it really #flexfriday and checkin day with @team_lrf already?
Who agrees the weeks seem to be flying past? Although I’m not sure today will seeing as it’s my rest day!🙄 .

I had another weight increase on the scales in checkin but I’m also increasing overall in the gym!
Last night I hit new PBs for weight and reps on Leg press, wide Smith squat and Dumbbell walking lunges!👊🏽

One of the biggest mistakes I made when I started lifting was going too hard too soon. I trained every single day for 3 weeks, and while I did build a little muscle, at the end of it all, I felt way too fatigued, I was always tired, and it was just too unsustainable to keep going forward. I took another 3 weeks off from the gym before I went back.

While the motivation to go to the gym constantly is a good thing, it's also a good thing to get proper rest. If you're not getting enough rest throughout the week, it's gonna be harder for you to build muscle over time.

This is why training splits varying from 3-6 days a week are great, you still get to go to the gym and make gains while getting the proper rest you need. Rest is SO IMPORTANT! Don't underestimate it!

this is what tired from so much work looks like 🥱😴 bags around my eyes, struggling to smile, minimal sleep & so fatigued but what sucks balls the most is i havent been to the gym in 2 days cause i work too far away from gym! i travel 3hrs everyday to get to and from work 🚙 i work anywhere from 6 hours to 14 hour shifts 😩 and the sleepover shifts are draining asf cause i barely sleep 💤

REST DAY - well for me anyway. Why is a rest day so important? Well, simple, that’s where the gains are made. You finish a session slightly less fit than you were at the beginning of the session. This was one of most important things I learnt on my EA course. It came as a surprise to me. You can imagine if you keep going and going and going you gradually become fatigued. The adaptations that are needed to improve fitness take place in the body when resting. Taking rest allows your body to absorb the training and boost fitness. Repair. Eat. Sleep. Time your rest days properly to get the most benefit. Above all, take rest and recovery seriously so your body can catch up and build fitness and power. Let me know if you have any questions. Guten Morgen liebe Leute 🤗 ich habe gestern mal auf den Frühsport verzichtet und bin lieber nach der Arbeit laufen gewesen - man muss ja auch mal die neue Arbeitsgegend erkunden 🕵🏼‍♀️ Für mich sind es dann 9 schnelle Kilometer geworden & ich hab mein jährliches Pensum des letzten Jahres erreicht 💪🏼 2034 km habe ich geschafft, 266 km sind es also noch bis das Jahresziel geschafft ist. Das heißt die nächsten Wochen werden entspannt und das Jahr wird ohne Druck abgeschlossen 🙆🏼‍♀️ Das ist doch ein guter Grund, heute einen #restday einzulegen - vor allem weil ich mich heute morgen lieber damit beschäftigt habe, 2 Stunden auf die Deutsche Bahn zu warten 🤦🏼‍♀️ Da fahre ich demnächst doch lieber mit dem Auto und verschwende nicht meine Lebenszeit ☝🏼 Naja, heute ist ja zum Glück Freitag und ein Grund weniger sich zu ärgern. Guten Morgen liebe Leute 🤗 ich habe gestern mal auf den Frühsport verzichtet und bin lieber nach der Arbeit laufen gewesen - man muss ja auch mal die neue Arbeitsgegend erkunden 🕵🏼‍♀️ Für mich sind es dann 9 schnelle Kilometer geworden & ich hab mein jährliches Pensum des letzten Jahres erreicht 💪🏼 2034 km habe ich geschafft, 266 km sind es also noch bis das Jahresziel geschafft ist. Das heißt die nächsten Wochen werden entspannt und das Jahr wird ohne Druck abgeschlossen 🙆🏼‍♀️ Das ist doch ein guter Grund, heute einen #restday einzulegen - vor allem weil ich mich heute morgen lieber damit beschäftigt habe, 2 Stunden auf die Deutsche Bahn zu warten 🤦🏼‍♀️ Da fahre ich demnächst doch lieber mit dem Auto und verschwende nicht meine Lebenszeit ☝🏼 Naja, heute ist ja zum Glück Freitag und ein Grund weniger sich zu ärgern. Before streaming my workouts at home I used to follow less comprehensive programs and fill in the gaps with whatever I thought would benefit my health and fitness most. But I’m not a personal trainer and I tend to overtrain rather than incorporate the proper amount of recovery workouts and stretching. Now that I commit to my comprehensive workout programs I know that I am always following a professionally designed, well thought out training program. I know that my trainers know exactly what they are talking about, providing me with proper form cues, modifications, and that each workout is scheduled with careful intention so that my body can maximize my results. There is no guessing or hoping that I’m doing the right thing. It makes working out so much easier to know I can trust my trainer and my program to give me the proper push and recovery each day, each week, without fail. It makes working out more fun when you know it’s actually working. Do you find yourself filling in the gaps of your current fitness routine? Do you make time for active recovery days and stretching?

Endlich #wochenende #fitfam 🤩
Nachdem gestern mein #restday war, geht es heute nach #feierabend natürlich direkt wieder ins #gym und diesmal steht wieder ein #legday auf dem Programm 😬💪🏼

Mit dem Aufbau aktuell läuft es eigentlich gut und bin jetzt ca. eine Woche dabei, außer dass ich einfach nicht zunehme - im Gegenteil 😂 Aber ich denke, das dauert noch, bis sich mein Körper daran gewöhnt. .
Während des Trainings merke ich auf jeden Fall, dass mir die Übungen mit den gleichen Gewichten leichter fallen und ich versuche aktuell auch mehr Fokus auf die Ausführung zu legen und kürzere Satzpausen zu machen - mal sehen, ob und was es bringt 🙈 Ich werde dann berichten 😬

Achtet ihr auch genau auf die Ausführung der Übung und den Muskel zu treffen? 😬

Here’s a general guide to how much you should rest between sets, that’ll work for damn near everyone.

This is for performing the same exercise back to back, and can definitely be shortened for super-sets and circuit training.

But the big takeaway here is: REST BETWEEN SETS.

If you want to build muscle: REST BETWEEN SETS.
-

If you want to lose fat: REST BETWEEN SETS.
-

A lot of people get frustrated having to just “sit around” and wait for their next set, but it’s something you have to do.
-

If you’re just simply flying through your workout not giving yourself proper recovery time you’re going to be using sub-maximal weight.
-

Sub-maximal weight that leads to less muscle built, less metabolic stress, less calories burned, and less calories burned down the road that could’ve been used to maintain muscle that was built.
-

Bad for everyone.
-

Think about it, take a strength workout that consists of 20 sets and do it in 30 minutes with proper rest implemented between sets. Now do it in 15 minutes with sub-optimal rest.
-

After the 15 minute workout you’ll be gassed. While after the 30 you’ll probably feel pretty good and like you could do more.
-

But that doesn’t mean the 15 minute workout was better!
-

Being tired and being sweaty doesn’t mean you had a good workout! At all!!
-

Focus on progressive overload, and allow for this overload with sufficient rest between sets.

Don’t let your brain trick you into thinking more tired always equals more effective. 👊

Should you workout when you’re sick?⁣

I was at the gym and overheard some guys next to me talking in between sets. One guy said “I have to be like 101 for sure”, and the other guy said “Ew bro don’t breathe on me”.⁣

He was talking about having a fever.⁣

WHAT THE HELL DO YOU NEED TO BE LIFTING AT THE GYM FOR WITH A FEVER?⁣

First of all, it’s extremely disrespectful. If you are one of these people that spread your germs in public, I don’t like you, sorry. ⁣

How do you know someone doesn’t have a compromised immune system, or live with someone who does? For example, someone who is going through chemo or other intense treatment. Can we be a little more responsible?⁣

If you MUST move, then go somewhere with open air, like outside, or in your own home. Don’t bring that into closed spaces with people touching everything you touch.⁣

“I will lose my gains if I don’t work out for a week” NO YOU WILL NOT. ⁣

Let your body actually rest! Putting it through stress when you are already stressed is no bueno and it will take you longer to recover.⁣

So please, I beg of you, be a decent human being this cold and flu season.
