One of my goals is to try and start filming some of my workouts and taking better pictures at the gym. I find it kind of difficult to do this when it gets busy though but I think I just need to go for it!

This photo was 2016-17. The photo may not look drastic, but I miss the old me. I intuitively ate, exercised 30 mins 4 days a week And most importantly NEVER restricted any food groups. Yes I posted meals w/ macros, only to show the contents. Yes I tracked my daily intake once a month if that per year to see how many calories I was eating out of curiosity. To be perfectly honest I was too lazy to weigh and track every little thing. Fast forward 1.5 years. I regained some weight.

I decided to try KETO 2018 and I had to learn how to track carbs. Doing Keto there is no gray area. I absolutely cannot intuitively eat, otherwise I wouldn’t be in nutritional ketosis. Keto led me into tracking / weighing everything. I was “That” girl who was annoyingly not eating certain things . I wasn’t restricting calories, but suppressing my cravings. I was literally eating 2000 calories maybe more a day. I gained inflammation and now every food item I looked at had a number! Once you know how to count carbs, you can’t un see it! Help! Lol
.
This led me into fasting. Oh man fasting. Smh 🤦🏻‍♀️Did it help with my inflammation? Yes absolutely. Did It shed fat like all the research claims. Heck yea! Did fasting fuel binge episodes? Resounding yes. What’s a binge you ask? It’s when you finally give into your cravings and instead of eating 2 cookies, you end but eating 3/4 of the box. Than you say well I already messed up so let’s go ahead and eat ALL my favorite foods 🤦🏻‍♀️.

Going back to my original post of this photo, it represents a girl who enjoyed working out because it made her feel good.

I didn’t restrict any food groups or tracked  how many hours fasted. .
This person was mindful and never binged. Key notes, if you restrict what you really want to eat, you will eventually binge eat your restricted foods. Moral of the story, Just eat that Cookie folks!! ✌🏻 .#balance .

#PWR back and shoulders ✔️💪🏻💯 I’ve done 4 resistance workouts this week, and tomorrow I’m hoping to squeeze some #liss and a #hiit workout in. Then I’m going to use Sunday as a rest day, except maybe for some stretching and foam rolling. Now I have a non fitness related question for all the mamas: did you experience thinning hair after your babes?? All around my face my hair is breaking like crazy, and none of it stays in a pony tail... I know there are worse things, but it’s annoying AF. 😡😔

Currently on a flight to Philadelphia. My future cousin in law is getting married and I can’t wait to celebrate! .
As you can see I added a calendar count down to my workout mirror. I’ve been struggling with sticking on goal recently. I have a lot of events coming up and I am using this calendar to focus on each as they come. .
Take each goal with bite size pieces. I find it easier to kick ass for the next two weeks then say I want to kick ass for forever.

Happy weekend 😌🙌🏼 so excited for tomorrow’s run, 19km on the Gold Coast is going to be wonderful ⚡️⚡️ for those of you who don’t know, I’ve been training for a marathon and for the last 6 weeks my long runs have all been over 22km. So 19km is going to be a nice change 🤩 I feel that around 20km is the max my body can handle before my knees and hips get sore, but what has helped a lot is FOAM ROLLING 😭😭 so painful but oh so beneficial. I foam roll for 15-20 mins before and after every run and it does wonders. Also amazing for sore muscles in general from weight training. Def jump on this bandwagon ✔️✔️

Week 12 of PWR 1.0: Shoulder + Abs 💛 Lately I’ve been lacking motivation to go to the gym but I always get in the car and drive my lazy ass there. Let me tell you something... I NEVER regret going. One of the reasons I’m motivated to go is that every week I see some type of gains: muscle growth, decrease in body measurement, being able to lift heavier etc. I realized it’s called PROGRESS for a reason. It’s an ongoing journey to become the best version of myself not a quick fix. Plus, it’s not just about the physical changes but also the positive mental health benefits. After hitting the gym, I feel less anxious about my problems and an increased sense of self worth. I’ve done what I needed to do and I crushed it. 💪

Week 12 of PWR 1.0: Shoulder + Abs 💛 Lately I’ve been lacking motivation to go to the gym but I always get in the car and drive my lazy ass there. Let me tell you something... I NEVER regret going. One of the reasons I’m motivated to go is that every week I see some type of gains: muscle growth, decrease in body measurement, being able to lift heavier etc. I realized it’s called PROGRESS for a reason. It’s an ongoing journey to become the best version of myself not a quick fix. Plus, it’s not just about the physical changes but also the positive mental health benefits. After hitting the gym, I feel less anxious about my problems and an increased sense of self worth. I’ve done what I needed to do and I crushed it. 💪

This week I have been easing back into my normal workout routine. It’s been hard taking my own advice, taking it slow, and modifying my workouts. Because they have been modified, it has given me the chance to slow down and pay attention to my technique and form. I get asked all the time for modifications especially for those with knee issues. Here are two mods I had to do specifically for my wrist, but also can work for anyone who can’t do a lot of plyo. One is for the sprawl and the other is for the burpee. I have the towel under my hands to take some pressure off of my wrists. Although they are modified, you can still get a heck of a workout. You can control the tempo. Make sure to keep your core engaged with all exercises. My hand is still tender so I am a little hesitant when I initially put weight on it. Getting there though. 😊🙌🏼

Some days I do struggle with caring too much what other people think. It's probably my biggest struggle. I've had to learn to embrace my type of growth based on what feels best to me when it may not look like another's growth. I'm working on it and I'm improving, but it isn't without some serious contrast some days.

The goal is to keep trying to improve every day.

SIX MONTHS vs SIX WEEKS! Having a baby does crazy things to your body, and I was fortunate through food, fitness, and some genetics to make a ton of progress between six weeks post-partum and six months. Taking pictures of my progress was a HUGE motivator so I could see how my body changed, even if the scale did not. I started by eating clean, body weight exercises and light running after being cleared by my doctor (I had an emergency c-section). Taking it easy and listening to my body was key! This rainy Friday in London isn’t quite able to match last Friday in Crete 😂 Butttt getting back to @f45_training_farringdon has made it a LOT easier 💪🏼 A good workout just gets my weekend off to the best start! Lame but true 😉 I love it when you find a studio that’s able to adapt workouts to your fitness, your strengths and your weaknesses. It makes it so much more fun, challenging and enjoyable!

Week 1 Day 5...Shoulders, Back and Bi’s 💪 holy mackerel y’all, not the best pic, but I could barely hold up my phone to take it 😆 seriously!! That was an AWESOME workout! So I can honestly say since day 1 on Monday, each day I’ve had more and more energy. Getting in all my macros has actually been the most difficult part of this so far 🙄 I have to keep reminding myself that it’s only the first week and it takes time to figure this 💩 out, so 🤞it’ll happen here soon!! This was so crazy— EXACTLY as we were leaving the beautiful wedding we attended yesterday, it started pouring rain! @rpwells and I were stoked because it had been so sunny and hot and the rain felt SO GOOD.😁 HOW WAS YOUR WEEKEND!? I’ve never been so bloody happy to finish a run.
