Consistency with nutrition is certainly underrated/overlooked.
When somebody tells me they can’t gain weight no matter how much food they eat, I always ask them ‘’how many calories do you eat’’. They either don’t know, or they eat massively different amounts of calories each day.
Get on top of your nutrition & you’ll reach your goals a lot faster whilst feeling a lot better!!

Today started with a #PullDay session followed by Sunday Morning Spin before work. Work was then followed by a 5-A-Side Kick About with some of the lads from work. #DuckingKnackered

Today's Pull consisted of T-Bar Rows, Dumbell Bicep Curls, Inverted Rows, Kettlebell RDLs and Cable Pulldown Crunches. And I threw in some Power Bag Cleans to finish it off.

1 week of meals excluding breakfast and snacks. Pulled bbq chicken, mixed peppers and rice (some Caribbean, piri piri, mexican and fresh thyme and garlic rice.) 15 meals for £12 of ingredients and they taste delicious for once, not like nothing or shit.

4th PT session done! Feeling it in the chest after 6 games of softball yesterday but still smashed it. Got to grips with bunny hops which was one of my weaknesses. New goals. New programme. As I said the other day I’ve decided to change up my training. Moved into more muscle building training rather than strength focused training. The reason for this was due to the numbers I hit in testing. I was very happy with these, hit 2/3 end of year goals already and only 5kg off the other so I’m more than happy with how that went. Now we trying to add more size to the frame. This training is very tempo based so changing to that at first will be a challenge at first but looking forward to another style of training. Although we have changed the training up we still with @teamanvil and I’m buzzing to start the programme tomorrow which he has gave me. I’ll say again anyone looking for a coach then Craigs your man trust me on this. Buzzing to get started. Decided to change the page up a bit too, wont be posting every day as before. Bit of a random post but it’s Sunday and I’m lay here winding down watching Dragons Den in my minion Pjs with my cat and cup of tea 😊🤣 Here’s 12 random things about me:

1) I’ve had a job since the age of 15. Worked in a cafe, River Island then onto a call Centre.
2) I’ve been to college to qualify in Beauty and Holistic Therapy, HR (Human resources) and once did a course on how to work a chainsaw 🤣 also currently studying in nutrition 😋
3) Irish heritage. You may know that from my Surname 🤣
4) I can do the Mexican wave with my tongue. Weird party trick I know 🤣
5) I’m a massive tea drinker, pizza lover and chocolate eater 🤣
6) I have 4 amazing God daughters, one nephew and an old lady cat called Jenny 😊
7) I absolutely can’t STAND loud eaters 🤣 JUST WHY!? 🤯😩😩
8) I have 2 brothers, one older and one younger. Yes I’m the middle child 👀🤣
9) I am one of the longest serving PT’s at Pure Gym in Altrincham. Been there since before it opened. There’s a couple of survivors 🤪
10) I’m 100% not gay 😂 something which my mum asks me on a regular basis because I don’t have a boyfriend, she asks if I have a girlfriend 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 11) I’ve been a yo-yo dieter for YEARS.
From being self conscious wearing clothes in the pool over my bikini and people telling me I’ll soon be falling down grids 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️
12) I turned 30 this year and I feel extremely grateful for everything around me.

There you have it. Very simple but happy life. Love to all my friends, family, clients and humans I come into contact with ❤️

What to do with training when you’re away / traveling / have limited time...
.
My go to is always super sets, tri sets or giant sets...
.
Basically you have limited time or perhaps you’re doing fewer sessions for a while because of how busy your are but you still need to train / exercise right, so make the most out of your time.
.
Instead of doing a set of an exercise and then resting, put a few exercises together.
.
Two exercises back to back = a super set
Three exercises = a tri set
Anything more = a giant set
.
Here’s how it might look (there are a lot of different ways and goal and experience will always dictate - also note that you’d probably have to go slightly lighter than a normal set due to fatigue);
.
A1. Deadlift
A2. Bench Press
.
Example 2;
B1. Lat Pull Down
B2. Dumbbell Bench Press
B3. Dumbbell Lat (side) Raise
.
Example 3;
C1. Squat
C2. Lying Dumbbell Row
C3. Dumbbell Romanian Deadlift
C4. Dumbbell Shoulder Press
.
The concept is to aim to keep up the intensity (how heavy you lift) as much as you can (you will have to decrease a little) but to get more done in the same time by putting exercise together that don’t really interfere with each other.
.
If you’re training / exercising 4x per week, this approach in each session will most likely burn you out. Over 2 sessions, there’ll be enough time to recover.
.
Rest after each round of exercises for around 2 minutes, depending how you feel. If you’re resting between exercises, no longer than 10-20 seconds.
.
Whilst I was away I trained once, upper body and done agonist / antagonist super sets (opposites basically a push exercise with a pull) to get more volume in (amount of sets).

My go to is always super sets, tri sets or giant sets...

Basically you have limited time or perhaps you’re doing fewer sessions for a while because of how busy your are but you still need to train / exercise right, so make the most out of your time.
.
Instead of doing a set of an exercise and then resting, put a few exercises together.
.
Two exercises back to back = a super set
Three exercises = a tri set
Anything more = a giant set
.
Here’s how it might look (there are a lot of different ways and goal and experience will always dictate - also note that you’d probably have to go slightly lighter than a normal set due to fatigue);
.
A1. Deadlift
A2. Bench Press
.
Example 2;
B1. Lat Pull Down
B2. Dumbbell Bench Press
B3. Dumbbell Lat (side) Raise
.
Example 3;
C1. Squat
C2. Lying Dumbbell Row
C3. Dumbbell Romanian Deadlift
C4. Dumbbell Shoulder Press
.
The concept is to aim to keep up the intensity (how heavy you lift) as much as you can (you will have to decrease a little) but to get more done in the same time by putting exercise together that don’t really interfere with each other.

If you’re training / exercising 4x per week, this approach in each session will most likely burn you out. Over 2 sessions, there’ll be enough time to recover.
.
Rest after each round of exercises for around 2 minutes, depending how you feel. If you’re resting between exercises, no longer than 10-20 seconds.
.
Whilst I was away I trained once, upper body and done agonist / antagonist super sets (opposites basically a push exercise with a pull) to get more volume in (amount of sets).

Today has been a Sunday well spent. Planned my food for the week. Loads of food prep done (soup / pasta sauce / breakfasts / couple of meals) Painted the bathroom 😏 Fed the rabbit I’m rabbit sitting for 😂 And most importantly, I had a nap because, it’s Sunday and well, naps 😴 .

On a level, too many ‘fitness gurus’ doing these overly complicated workouts and exercises like it’s a new invention or summit 😂

Take my advice and stick to the basics, stick to compounds, stick to consistency and don’t skip legs 🤪

Importance of the BULKING PHASE⁉️ I see a lot of people that have just started going to the gym and have a goal of wanting abs or being ripped etc.
Firstly if you’re already quite skinny, it might not be hard for you to have visible abs but the rest of your body will not have a lot of muscle, therefore trying to lose body fat first will not be the best solution for you at all in the long run.❌ However if you go on a lean bulk which means eating in a calorie surplus then this will allow you to build more muscle tissue throughout your body.
A good time frame for a lean bulk would be around 6 months depending on how much body fat you’re holding etc. But once you have added some mass to your frame, then you can focus on getting ripped or lean as not only will you look better but you will have a more balanced physique.✅
