When I was much younger I remember my dad preaching about Schwarzenegger’s ways. Not gonna lie I didn’t find it all interesting. I just thought it was another thing my dad want me to do that involved physical activity. I wasn’t that active as a kid. I only played two sports; soccer (kindergarten), and baseball (first grade). I was the kid on the field that just observe the game and not actually participating in it. Fast forward till now, here I am trying to be as active as possible. I’m glad we kept this book our dad gave us, not gonna lie it makes more sense now than when my dad first introduced this book to us. I have two more months till 2020, and I feel like it’s going to be my best year yet. So might as well start early on becoming a much stronger, dedicated, and positive person before the year of perfect vision. I like to combine working out with dancing and karate. Hence you’ll often see me prancing around the gym or house doing all at the same time. I get approached in the gym from time to time asking me “what exactly is that you’re doing?” Not exactly sure 🤔 I know myself sometimes 😆

Squats were TRASH 🗑 today. Originally planned on 5x5 but couldn't. Felt some hip pain at the top which held me back a lot. Might need to do some soft tissue work in that area or do some heavy stretching

2️⃣ Tempo Deadlifts
2 x 6 x 275
1x 6 x 295(shown)
These feel pretty solid except they really do a number of my hands and grip

3️⃣4️⃣ Heavy Deadlifts

Decided to experiment with a pyramid-reverse pyramid scheme today and let me tell you first hand that it is ASS lol

Picked this up earlier in the week and I find it to be really addicting. I didn't stick with martial arts as a kid which is one of my biggest regrets so this makes me pretty happy. I've got timing down pretty well. I'm next trying to do it backwards which one of my classmate's cousins can do

Most people don't need a coach forever. I usually train a new client for a few months until they become proficient and confident in training and can train on their own. For some people this takes a few months and for some it takes a few years. If you can't learn how to work out properly in a few years... either your coach sucks, or you're just clueless.
.
When @supblondie came to me a few months ago he was already in decent shape from actively participating in Orangetheory fitness for the last few years. But he didn't know too much regarding the basic principles of weightlifting or how to get his physique where he wanted it to be.
.
Within just a few months he learned how to properly execute all necessary exercises, learned all of the basics to training, nutrition, recovery and supplementation. Now he's going off on his own to continue his journey into building his body and bettering himself. I'm very proud of how much he accomplished in a short period of time, and know he will stick with training because it's become a lifestyle for him.
.
Here's an outtake of our recent chest workout, I like to work out with my clients sometimes just to show them how hardcore you can train once you've reached a certain level. And it always helps with the coach/client dynamic. When you train with someone you build a bond, friendship and respect for that person. Plus it's nice to know your coach actually works out and doesn't just run his mouth...

It may not be much, but it's worth a lot more than the money spent.

I've never been one to buy things I don't absolutely need or have an idea of what I can use it for... And even if I could use some thing, I weigh the options and deliberate it for awhile before diving into a purchase.
These weights that I finally dove into purchasing are a good example...
I've needed a set of 8lbs & 10lbs for about a year, or more. But I've always made due with the changeable weights that I already had.
Finally, at a recent training session, it was evident that I couldn't put it off any longer. I bit the bullet and bought both sets, with the knowledge that I had already made up the money that I was spending on them.

My coaching income from the week covered both sets!! And the impact of finally having them is greater than their cost. I'm already planning the ways I can make my clients' muscles burn when using them!! "A gift that keeps on giving!!" Extra income was a motivator to starting this in the first place, yes. And all the things the go along with extra household income, as small or large as it might be... What would you do with extra cash?! The bigger reason to starting was to share health far and wide, and reach more people using these tools I know are the most effective way to lose weight and KEEP IT OFF!! You may need time to contemplate purchase, just like I do, but I guarantee that, like my weights, it will be a gift you keep on getting. Eventually you'll make up your mind that diving into coaching, or a wellness program, is money well spent because of the greater effect it has on you and those around you!! Un error muy común es tratar el entrenamiento para ganar músculo como el entrenamiento de fuerza.

Visto desde fuera, son muy parecidos: se trata de levantar pesas.

Pero la gran diferencia es el enfoque.
-
Mientras el entrenamiento de fuerza se enfoca en CUANTO levantas, y progresar ese peso...
-
El entrenamiento muscular se enfoca en COMO lo levantas.
-
Los músculos débiles o sin buen desarrollo, junto con las lesiones, casi siempre vienen por tratar el entrenamiento como si fuera de fuerza.
-
Cambia tu enfoque.
-
Solo reduce la velocidad de tus repeticiones y sé consciente de sentir tu músculo toda la serie.
-
Si quieres mejorar tus elevaciones laterales para hombros...
.
👉🏼 Bájale al peso que usas (10-15 libras tal vez
.
👉🏼 No brinques con tu cuerpo
.
👉🏼 Controla cada repetición, y aprieta fuerte tus hombros laterales
.
Esculpir el cuerpo es mas un proceso interno, lo que sientes, que lo que levantas.

Proof that you can still get a good pump not lifting heavy weight. I’ve always had the mindset that time under tension and the quality of my lifts are more important than how much weight I can lift. Don’t get me wrong there’s a place for lifting heavy and I understand everyone’s goals are different but I’m geared more for the long term-I want to be able to walk in the gym and pick up a barbell at the age of 80. I use the weight room as a tool to keep me versatile-I want it to help me do the other things I love 😊

It was a beautiful day for a run!! The wind was a little chilly, but it was otherwise perfect running weather!!! Hopefully Sunday will be this beautiful!! (And the cool weather seems to be helping my hamstring ever so slightly!)
