Facing away and handles to the side make it a lot harder as you can't rest the bar on your shoulders.

I’m a big fan of coffee and protein about 30 minutes before a workout. The coffee helps ramp up my body for the workout.

This is ideal before a morning workout - as you probably don’t want too much caffeine in the afternoon. It *can* give some people trouble sleeping.

Make sure to mix the water and protein in your shaker bottle first, and then add the ice and coffee and mix again.

Feel free to add more protein to fit your needs.

If you feel this isn’t enough to fuel your workout, also consider adding a small piece of fruit about 30 minutes before your workout to elevate blood glucose levels.

Did you know that 65% of the adult population is lactose intolerant? This can lead to a lot of digestion and skin issues for some people who consume diary, especially non-fermented forms of dairy (fermented forms = Greek yogurt, Kefir, cottage cheese). Lactose intolerance also really depends on your genetics. I love meal prep. My mind was blown during my first semester of my PhD program when I realized how less stressed I was when I roasted my sweet potatoes in advance. 🤯 But I do not love eating the same thing every day. You might think I do given my breakfast rotation but for lunches and dinners, variety is the spice of my life. 🌶 So when I do prep, I need options. One of this week’s options is 👏🏼 literally 👏🏼 the easiest ever to make.

SIMPLY:
✖️ Dump a jar of @traderjoes hatch green chili salsa (spicy version) or salsa verde (mild version) in your slow cooker or Instant Pot
✖️ Add some chicken thighs
✖️ Sprinkle with oregano and chili powder
✖️ Cook for 6-8 hours on low in a slow cooker OR 30 minutes on the poultry setting in the Instant Pot
✖️ Shred and serve over rice/cauli rice, in a wrap, in a potato, plain, etc.

LUNCHBOX IDEA: HALLOUMI & ROASTED VEG | I’ve decided that I want to get better at preparing my lunch at home to take into work. Mainly because getting lunch in London can be quite expensive, but also because I’ll be able to enjoy food exactly the way I want it - healthy, nutritious and delicious!! I don’t have a lot of time in the evenings, so I have to make something that is quick, easy, requires limited brain activity but also very delicious! 
This evening I’ve kept it simple and made myself a halloumi & meditarrean veg tray bake that I can take into work over the next couple of days. Here’s how you can make it:

Ingredients:
. 
2 courgettes, sliced 
1 large red onion, cut into slim wedges 
4 garlic cloves, crushed 
Olive oil 
300g cherry tomatoes 
250g halloumi, sliced 
120 mange tout 
1/2 tsp chilli flakes 
1/2 tsp paprika 
1/2 tsp cumin seeds 
Salt and pepper .
Method:
. 
1️⃣Heat the oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6. Grab a large baking tray and line with foil. Chuck in the courgettes, mange tout, red onion & garlic with a good glug of olive oil. Sprinkle with paprika, chilli flakes & season well. Mix and roast for 10 minutes.
2️⃣Stir in the cherry tomatoes and sit the halloumi slices on top. Sprinkle over the cumin seeds.
3️⃣Cook for another 15 minutes until the halloumi is turning golden and tomatoes just about to burst.
