#tbt Fitness Expo in Los Angeles last January. Here with the legendary Jay Cutler, 4-time Mr. Olympia. Twinning 👱🏻‍♀️ plus his arm is legit as big as my thigh! 22 inches yo.

Respect for all the people out there honing their craft and busting their balls for a vision only they can see. Sacrifice the short term to win big in the long term.

Can’t wait to go back to LA, mecca of fitness, spirituality, and HUSTLERS 🔥

May 2019 - Dec 2019

the secret to achieving your fitness goals 👇🏼👇🏼

Consistency.

You can’t expect to see results if you aren’t making time for yourself, sticking to your exercise program, and eating healthy 80% of the time. Plain and simple.

Consistent action creates consistent results!

If you’re serious about your goals then you’ll stop eating like an asshole, you’ll stop making excuses and get your workouts in, and you’ll make time for yourself.

No matter what you do in life, you won’t achieve the success you want if you don’t work at it day in and day out.

Check your ego... or it will check you ✔️
.
Starting this offseason training legs 2 days a week, one hamstring focused, one quad focused, which was today. My last single today for barbell squats was 335. My ego said go heavier, but my body said, easyyyyy big fella. Not today.
.
Averaging less than 6 hours of sleep a night this week and working every day this week 12+ hours start to finish, here is where I stopped. There’s no rush to get back to where I was when I started prep at 195 lbs since I’m only 172ish currently. .
Transitioning into offseason can be a mindf*ck when it comes to training. You are eating more food. Feeling better. Probably less stressed. So you want to start lifting heavy AF like you did when you started prep. But unfortunately it doesn’t work like that. It’s a slow progress with small improvements(hopefully) each week and if you try to do too much, you can risk injury. IMO you need to listen to your body and what you have in the tank that day and over time will strength returns.

Your back muscles are involved in just about every activity you do each day, so it is important that they're strong enough to handle all that work. Strength training your back muscles will add muscle mass to your upper body, which can help make your waist look smaller. "From Weakness to Greatness" or how I did it. Stay tuned👊

Change can be good!
.
Sometimes taking a risk to eat more and lift heavy will build muscle! Other times it will build fat! It all comes down to the details.

If you are unwilling to acknowledge your weaknesses, they will never become your strengths.
.
Lots of work to do over this longer offseason to make much needed improvements. Some people nowadays try to put in the least amount of effort possible in order to get the most they can out of something... being all about instant gratification, instant results. That kind of mindset isn’t going to get you anywhere.
.
Put in the time.
.
Do the damn work.
.
Smash your goals.

Did you know simply standing in a powerful stance for a few moments can be powerful enough to calm anxiety, boost confidence, and increase self esteem?

It’s because positioning yourself in a physical place of power automatically makes you take on some of that power mentally. Kind of a “fake it til you make it” effect.

I saw something recently that took that a step further and I like it a LOT better. Instead of faking it, FACE IT instead.

Face the obstacles in your life head on regardless of your skill level, ability or what others might think. Ask for help when you need it but go at it with confidence. If you face it and accept that you can learn as you go and thereafter, you’ll be miles ahead than if you never tried.

This #transformationtuesday shows an 11 year (photo) progression. I got into the martial arts game 13 years ago in college as a first year law enforcement student, joining a Golden Gloves boxing club and learning the hard way to block my face. (Got my 🍑 kicked a few times in sparring sessions as a newbie). -So those summers following my college years, I would train with friends in controlled sparring sessions in the yard as well as the mat room at classes during the curriculum semesters. I’ll never forget 2011 when I had rejoined a boxing club and traveled to the infamous Upper Cut Gym in Minneapolis. My coach at the time had me spar against a pro boxer, and I got utterly demolished! 😂 But those experiences both humble you and give you motivation to improve. It’s one thing to work a bag and it’s another thing when someone is swinging back! I’ve always been a better boxer than kicker, but I’m excited to eventually transition into Gracie Jiu Jitsu and Muay Tai Kickboxing once I attain a blackbelt in Karate. More knowledge and experience to add to my personal arsenal to assist me in my new position as a Use of Force Instructor. (Hopefully by next spring). It will be nice to apply my powerlifting strength to the grappling game. In the words of some of the best law enforcement instructors around, you need to train to make yourself “Hard to Kill”. Self defense is crucial in our day and age, especially in the law enforcement profession. Work hard, stay healthy, and train to go home to your loved ones every day! 🥊🥊

“Just be comfortable” I’ve gotten that saying from my parents, teachers, friends etc. NO. We don’t want to be comfortable; we want freedom. You want to have an exciting adventurous life right? We want prosperity and abundance. So let’s build a habit of STAYING successful.
———————————————————————————
It is going to take a constant discipline towards looking for the next hardest path. You have to make yourself uncomfortable on a consistent basis. The things you’re afraid to do and the action you’re afraid to take... you have to f*ckin take it. ———————————————————————————
⭐️CONDITION YOURSELF FOR SUCCESS⭐️
———————————————————————————
The degree of which you’re rewarded is directly proportional to the degree of hard work that you put in. Being successful and building the life that you want is going to take constant progression. For me, that starts with my physical and mental/spiritual health. LETS GET IT!!!

Top #probodybuilder posts

will i ever compete again?

answer: i honestly don't know

to start off I would like to make it perfectly clear that i absolutely loved the time i spent competing. it gave me something to work for - a challenge. i'm a very competitive person so i like a challenge.

it allowed me to see how strong i was mentally and how amazing the body truly is. let me tell you.. competing isn't easy. i had my fair share of tears - i specifically recall sitting under a barbell crying because the weight felt so heavy and i felt so weak.

it introduced me to some of the most amazing human beings i've ever met - the amount of friends (GOOD friends) i've made warms my heart. i found my "clan" so to speak.

however.. competing also heightened my body image issues. i spent almost a year working to get lean as a bean only to have to gain weight after it was all said and done. that shit.. that's hard. that messes with your head. the first 6 months post-show were the absolute worst i'm better, but even today i am not 100% confident in my skin.

it lead me to some poor eating habits - i'm not blaming competing for my binge eating, but it did bring it to the surface and in full force. have you ever sat on your kitchen floor shoving dry cereal, popcorn, and chips in your mouth until you felt sick? all while telling yourself to stop, but physically can't? no? yes? well either way it's awful and i wouldn't wish that on literally anyone.

it put stress on my relationships and social life - going into prep i knew that this was part of it and i was okay with that. but now that i've spent the last 5-6 months literally enjoying life it's been so freeing. in prep i couldn't casually go out to dinner without packing my own food - i couldn't have a bite of anything that wasn’t in my plan - i couldn't have any alcohol. i didn’t feel like i could truly LIVE.

i don't regret competing.

if i compete again it won't be soon. right now i feel i am the strongest i have ever been. i'm sleeping well, i'm recovering optimally, and i'm happy. competing doesn't align with my current goals. i'm going to enjoy this little sweet spot

Whatever you believe will manifest into existence, so be careful what you think, if it's not positive, stay neutral. Or you could end up hurting yourself. The biggest advice I can give is learn to live without judgement. In this way, you will at least keep yourself in a neutral state. #fitnessmotivation #motivation #bodybuildingmotivation #bodybuild #bodybuilder #bodybuilding #bodybuildingstruggles #bodybuilding💪 #fitness #fitnessmodel #fitnesspro #probodybuilder #montreal #progymmontreal #progym @progymmontreal

Home.🐺🌲 I enjoy the scenery at my parents place. Nothing like being out in the country, away from the city streets! 🚗🏢🚙

Little deload lifting this week on the back muscles! Always like to throw these in every 8 weeks to give the body a rest, while still keeping some type of load in my regimen!
.
WORKOUT👇🏽
1 ARM LAT PULL IN 2X15 EACH SIDE
BARBELL ROWS 3X10
TBAR ROWS 3X8
WIDEGRIP PULLUPS 3X6
1ARM KNEELING ROW 3X10 EACH SIDE
1 ARM LYING ROW 3X10 EACH SIDE
.
Felt like I was gonna fly away after this workout! Haha
