Today wasn't it chief. Typically, I'm good at checking my stress at the door, but had to deal with something I never dealt with before at work and the manifestation of that stress was tightness in my left erector. The set before this top set of squats felt so much more of a 9 than this set. Deadlift positioning was super off as I had difficulty tightening my back well. Bench was my fault. Really shows that this sport is not linear. Just one of those days. Check off the work, learn from it, then onto the next one.

Pro tip: Do not chug Core Power Elite and then a can of Reign. You will feel like crap.

Despite that fact, not bad progress. Couldve went higher on squats but didn't want to puke. Deadlift I started feeling better by set 2, so upped it significantly. The bar started to slip cause I didn't brush the chalk off so I didn't get to hold the lock out longer.

Just some boring bench. Was gonna go 200x5 but @supitsnotbrandon believed so I went up to 205. Been a little heavier this week cause I ran out of chicken. Forces me into an intuitive mindful diet, so I guess it's time to try that out?

Could've went heavier for squat, but changed to a closer stance so needed it to feel it out. My belly isnt there so I dont have the same rebound. Definitely worlds better now. Deadlifts were nice and spicy. Looked at the camera to show how small my eyes are and my tomato face. Bench has been the most improved despite the loss of weight. Down to 181.5 lbs and recovered from being sick. All around feeling good.

Agreeing with coach and need to reverse diet. Clear sign with how hungry and low energy I feel as soon as I get to the gym. Couldve went a little higher in weight with squats. Hit a misgroove on bench, but after 2.5 years of lifting I finally got leg drive. Good session but tiring instead.

Not the best today. My stomach basically emptied itself as soon as I arrived at the gym, and again after set two of squats (TMI I know, sorry). I felt like I had low amounts of energy throughout today's session. It happens. You just deal with it and do what you gotta do. Don't worry, not a stomach bug. If it was I wouldnt have been pulling 395 for 5.

Last day of the deload before going back to volume next week. If you havent noticed, I've been playing around with where I look during my lifts. Started looking straight ahead during my squat and I noticed my body angle is more efficient. Trying to look more up with deadlift, and noticed that my back looks a bit flatter. I'm also looking lean at a nice 185 lbs.

Failed it a set before but I knew I had it so I attacked it again. New PR and huge huge progress. Deadlifts were solid at 455 so I went up. Honestly dont have the words at how happy my progress has been whilst maintaining 187 lbs this week to hit solid numbers. States next year is going to be spicy.

How the hell did I miss 187.5/413 on Saturday!? 185/408 flew! Day 3 is gonna be a nutty single if I really really take care of myself this week. I'm noticing that my second rep on deadlifts are better than my first so I gotta figure out what exactly is making it better and apply that to my 1st rep. Bench happened but I'm still working with changes to it for the time being. Otherwise today was a really good session.

Singlet Saturdays cause I havent done laundry yet. My 402 before that 413 was super easy so I decided to go up to 413 which seemed reasonable (also the weight I failed at the charity meet last Spring). Using a wider grip to offset some discomfort, I still ended up flaring my elbows to compensate which caused me to drop forward and lose tightness out of the hole. It's the first time failing a squat in training and oddly I'm not too mad since my progress otherwise has been solid. When @father_iron83kg believes in you, you gotta listen. Huge PR with 405. 395 felt like a 7 so I went up to 400 but John helped me believe in myself. First time squatting 4 wheels. Felt gassed with deadlifts, but still was a good lift. Wrist pain is still there and gotta readjust my grip for squat cause that tennis elbow really hit today benching. Otherwise today was a great session.

As I said in my IG story, the last time I did squat triples for RPE 9 I only squatted 167.5/369. Today I added almost 30 lbs to that. My last deadlift double was at 430 lbs so that is a 22 lb PR. I weighed in at 188.6 lbs this morning as well (cut started at about 200 lbs). I cant believe the progress right now.

More PRs! Misgrooved my second rep and tried to compensate by flaring my elbows up, but focused in for those last two reps on squats. Almost didn't have that last deadlift rep because the bar rolled ripping a callus in my left hand, but I definitely couldve went heavier and hit RPE. Didn't record bench cause my elbows, wrist, right shoulder, and right bicep were all feeling awful. I'll have bench back by day 2.

Got so hyped from watching everybody lift at the #irongobbler yesterday! Squats felt amazing today, just going to ride this wave while it lasts. Whatever I've been doing has been working.

Been practicing my walk out, as you see I have it pretty consistent here, three steps and I'm right where I want to be.

I wasn't careful with my balance on the last set, lost control of the weight and also lost my mental equilibrium and just fell apart. Came back and finished it fine.

500 lb squat happened last night... weighing in at a light 187.8 lb body weight. This number has been a huge goal of mine all year, and I've missed it on several occasions. Smoked it, with enough in the tank for 10 more lbs or maybe even a double. Saving it for my next meet... 530 next ✌

I usually don't repost, but today @nikkovasquez pulled 600 lbs... for a triple!! And that's something worth celebrating!
He is one of my biggest role models in powerlifting, as well as somebody I'm proud to call a friend. A huge congratulations on your PR and thank you for motivating me to achieve greater goals.

He's also a professional strength and conditioning coach, just as knowledgeable and insightful as he is strong, so if anybody is in need of training and programming, he's the guy to go to!
