Deadlifts blow every other exercise out of the water in terms of total body effectiveness, HANDS DOWN!!

For starters, deadlifts work more muscles simultaneously than any other movement (yes, including squats). The deadlift essentially forces the whole body to grow.
.
IT’S NOT JUST A LOWER BODY MOVEMENT!
.
Since dead’s recruit the most muscles to perform they help build the most muscle which in turn will help you burn the most body fat.
.
Deadlifts are also tops in terms of strengthening the core. When deadlifting you hit all the surrounding and supporting muscles of the waist, backside, hips and, of course, lower back. .
Another misconception is that deadlifts are a gateway to snapping your back in half. It’s actually the opposite, when performed correctly, deadlifts PREVENT injuries by strengthening the muscles around critical tendons and ligaments.

If you can’t deadlift for some reason or you are struggling with proper form, try doing a hex bar deadlift. It’s easier in terms of set up and you don’t have to go so low.  A second option is putting plates under the plates on the bar shortening the distance you have to lift the weight. This will decrease the range of motion making it a bit easier to maintain proper form through the lift.

If you haven’t done so already, make sure deadlifts are a part of your current strength training routine. Regardless of some people’s opinion, there is no better way to train your total body.

🙋Hi I lost 5lbs in ONE DAY...but um...it was just water weight and it was all caused by the hormonal fluctuations that are a super normal part of being a woman. 💃

This is why you should never tie emotion to the scale and you also shouldn't use it as the only data source to ensure you are on the right track throughout your health anf fitness journey. Women are extremely susceptible to have their weight change  due to hormonal fluctuations. This weight change can even be greater than 5lbs within a day too. .
Other ways to track progress: 🔼circumference measurements 🔼body fat percentage 🔼progress pictures

With my in person clients I always make sure to progress the weight they are lifting to enaure they are making progress. Who cares if the scale hasn't budged if you're getting STRONGER, am I right?! 😁💪

After any type of leg injury, you have to work real hard on your single leg balance and control again... Personally coming off a pretty bad ankle injury, I love this exercise as it is tough and really makes you focus through your mind muscle connection.

Tips:

1⃣ Activate your core by bending your knees in a strong holding position

2⃣ Make sure you go as slow as possible

3⃣ Extend as far as you can while staying on balance

4⃣ The moving foot needs to be on toes

Choosing what weight to put on the bar comes down to picking a weight that will stimulate mechanical overload, without causing too much fatigue and without using too much glycogen (stored carbohydrate in the muscle). You need to avoid wasting energy on unnecessary reps and sets that are unimportant for muscle growth. If you could achieve the same or better results in the gym with less reps would you do it?

You see, we want you to stimulate growth and have the necessary resources (in the form of glycogen and amino acids) available to be able to build muscle!

It’s a bit like a boxing match, you need to get your attack in then get away before being floored.

It feels like going in the gym and trashing yourself is the brave thing to do, however 25 years into training I would now argue it’s far more brave to stick to a program, keep a little in the tank and trust in the process rather than throwing the kitchen sink at it every session.

Train hard today, but train in a way that you can train hard tomorrow or the next day too.

Struggling to add muscle mass? Here's a few tips that you'll need to make sure you're nailing. -

1. Progressive training; -

We need to ensure that our training is progressing overtime. This will mainly come through an increase in volume in training overtime which can be achieved via increases in sets, reps and weight lifted etc. -

This won't always be so straightforward and linear. But if progression is being made as time goes on, you're doing well. -

2. Progressive eating; -

Like training, our caloric intake will also likely need to increase over time (for a number of reasons, one of which we will get on to). If not simply to ensure we are fueling the increase in training and maintaining a calorie surplus. -

3. Recovery; -

We NEED to make sure we are recovering from our training. If we aren't recovering, we won't get the required response/adaptation, which is muscle growth. -

So make adjustments to training, as stated above. But make sure you can recover from it! -

Obviously these points are individual dependant in terms of how exactly you make these changes, change in weight, volume, calories, recovery needs etc. -

And it will take time and patience to not only get to grips with these points but to also see the changes, so be exactly that, patient. -

Struggling to add muscle mass? Here's a few tips that you'll need to make sure you're nailing. -

Idk what I’ve been doing right but I’m gonna keep doing it 🤷🏻‍♀️ There’s so little fat (as compared to like a year and a half ago) that hangs over my bra, I have so much muscle (I swear I do, I just still have fat on top of it but less 😂😂), my cardiovascular endurance has improved by like 150% (literally), and I can go on. The best of it all though is that I feel so good.

Idk what I’ve been doing right but I’m gonna keep doing it 🤷🏻‍♀️ There’s so little fat (as compared to like a year and a half ago) that hangs over my bra, I have so much muscle (I swear I do, I just still have fat on top of it but less 😂😂), my cardiovascular endurance has improved by like 150% (literally), and I can go on. The best of it all though is that I feel so good.

Fast reps are reps which last between  1 and 2 seconds, and are key when trying to reach maximum effort and when trying to work to failure,  which is important when trying to grow your muscles.  The negatives however is that when performing quick reps your form is not focused on as much which can result in poor form and therefore not as quick results.  Although the muscle pump can easily be achieved through fast reps

More tension can be put on the muscles and it is perfect to perform the almost perfect contraction.  This is great for beginners,  as then you can get to understand and break down the movement. Both types of reps are great when trying to build muscle,  it just depends what you are trying to achieve in your workouts 💪

Whilst there is no single exercise that is best for your particular goal you can however pick certain exercises to get the most bang for your buck.

One of the important things to remember when it comes to building muscle and increasing strength is implementing the training principle progressive overload and hitting volume for hypertrophy.

This involves manipulating the exercises through increasing or decreasing the reps, sets, loads, and other forms of progressive overload.

Having a good plan is important for success within a training program. Here we have two major concepts that you will want to consider. ⁣⁣

Periodisation focuses on the long term trends in training and are typically looked at in terms of specific blocks/phases (i.e. volume block, strength phase). If you have a specific end date in mind such as a powerlifting competition, it is a good idea to plan backwards from that day to ensure you take an appropriate approach for optimal results. Periodisation is important because it can prevent over training and allows for appropriate recovery from training. We must remember to think about longevity in training!⁣⁣

Programming focuses on the short term day to day changes. This is typically changes in rep, set, or load scheme. The main thing to consider with programming is appropriate allocation of weekly training volume. This will allow appropriate session to session recovery which will then allow for progress to be made week to week. Programming decisions will be based on and have an effect on periodisation. For example, if you are in a volume phase, you want to spread your volume evenly throughout the week. If you do too much work in one day, you may not be able to recover for your next session leading to less total work being complete in the week. This then could lead to failure to stick to the specific goals of the training block and potentially injury which is never good!⁣⁣

The main take away here is to create a solid plan that focuses on the main principles of training:⁣⁣

Flying to Vegas today for work and going over all my biz, then that feeling hits me...how wild and crazy I get when I go to Vegas... I give the word "bender" a new meaning jack. 
Then I said F*ck it and threw business plans in the air while staring at the camera like a G. 
Then I humbly picked my papers up because in actuality my version of "wild" in Vegas is going to work, the gym and eating dead cow w/ baked potatoes and tequila.

I don't care who you are, everyone should be doing resistance/strength training to some degree. Not everyone should be deadlifts girl max weight, but everyone from 0-100 should be doing something. The benefits are numerous including: gaining mass and preventing muscle loss (use it or lose it), gaining strength and function so that daily tasks and performance become easier, promote bone health (this is especially important for females as osteopetrosis is a big risk), reduce excess body fat and even reduce the risk of numerous conditions and diseases. There are way to many benefits from a health and fitness standpoint, let alone aesthetic standpoint, to strength train. This can be in the form of weights or  calisthenics, but strength training is absolutely paramount for optimal health. Pick a split that fits your schedule, make sure you hit each muscle group 2-3x/week on non-consecutive days, train with progressive overload, and make sure you do activity you enjoy.
