(4/?) At this time after my final visit with the gastro (he told me to come back in a year)... My PCP asked if there was anything else I would like to tackle and I basically told her I hurt... everywhere. She pushed that aside and stated it was most likely Fibromyalgia and that she could send me to a clinic to be evaluated for a treatment plan. Nothing against Fibromyalgia, it is a really real and painful disease and can make life EXTREMELY difficult depending on the severity of pain experienced. Just because it doesn’t have blood work or an MRI can’t see if doesn’t mean it is all in their head. ANYWHOOOO 🤗 🙏🏻 She asked me about multiple things, and then it was done. I went back to see her in 3 weeks again, and it must have been a busy day (she doesn’t like to keep ppl waiting) because it took her a while to come in. In that time I had leaned my head backwards and not expecting it I fell right to sleep. When I woke she was shaking me, and said she had been unable to wake me for a period of time. I laughed and said I didn’t get much sleep last night. That’s when she laid in on the sleep questions. She asked how much sleep I got, if I dream, if I ever fall asleep where I shouldn’t, of my body ever lost muscle control and buckled. My mind was so confused, I had just woken up and didn’t even remember being there. She asked me how long I had been sleepy... and I said ALWAYS. That’s when she referred me to a sleep specialist. Maybe he could help me stay awake. (Also the first picture isn’t to offend anyone. Everyone is tired, but for most NwC or N patients it is approximately like staying awake from 3-6 days.) Cúpla hip switches to help you warm up before a match or a workout.

I also find this an excellent exercise to work on improving active hip flexion range.

Put your weight through your hands and reach with the heel as you drive forward with the legs.

It’s good to pause at the switch and hold for a second or two. From here you could come up into a warrior pose and work on building strength at end range.

Try it out and tag me in it!

This is how I healed an injured calf 2 years ago. It's how I'm healing a sprained big toe right now.
-
Slow and steady. My trail run/shuffle. Finding the exact right pace and angle of movement so my body can juuuuust feel the tiny discomfort from moving an injured area, but not beyond the safety zone where I can relax into the movement and allow full range-of-motion. Helping the injured area regain "confidence" that it can move freely, months after it was injured.

It's 100% about my body understanding that it's safe to push the envelope just a bit, and that it doesn't need to resort to an "Oh shit, danger!" and slip back into the painful spasm that's been protecting it since I injured it.

It takes a heavy dose of #bodyawareness and #mindfulness. And it's the best way I've learned to move beyond any stuck place -- with injury, career malaise, any other autopilot phase of my life.

She was having some tightness in her hips and lower back so we did a lot of work on those areas. This move is called the sack o' buns and targets the superficial back, lateral, and spiral fascial nets. This technique feels great and can result in an amazing release.

I bet you can’t do this, and that you need it.

Hip internal rotation is one of the most commonly lacking places that can affect the knee and low back.

Each stage is it own exercise, and each one demands slightly more mobility and stability at the hip joint.

You can begin performing this with the outside hand being support, on the floor.

As you practice and improve your hips internal rotation then you can progress to performing without hand support.

A great version is to follow this series as shown, performing each step layered on top of one another.

Is it crampy?

Yes.

But will it feel like your hip might explode?

Yes

Should your hip feel pinching at this hip socket?

Actually no, if you do you should lean your trunk away from the working side until it is no longer pinch-y.

Would you like your body to move and feel better? Link in Bio

Bend over and grab the bar with a shoulder-width grip

Hold the weight for a second at the top, with locked hips and knees. Then return the weight to the floor by moving your hips back while bending your legs. Rest a second at the bottom and repeat. -
Do five reps on the StrongLifts 5×5 program.
Your lower back must stay neutral to avoid injury. Rounding it during heavy Deadlifts is dangerous for your spine. It puts uneven pressure on your spinal discs which can injure them. -
Always Deadlift with a neutral lower back – maintain the natural inward curve of your lower spine.
The fastest way to increase your Deadlift is to improve your form. By pulling more efficiently, you can use more muscles and Deadlift heavier weights. This results in more strength and muscle gains. -
The best way to improve your form is by practicing Deadlifts with proper form.

I’m half way through a whole weekend of yoga training and made the mistake of going to sainsburys on a Saturday evening after my course

FYI When you’re 5 ft 1 you can’t be going to supermarkets when the shelves are nearly empty .
.
The days’ stretching certainly came in handy 😂
.

(Still had to ask people to get stuff from the top shelf for me though 🙄)

Combat hip flexor tightness with this slider exercise. 🔛
🔘Put the back leg on a slider. Don't have one? Use a paper plate, or a towel if you're on hardwood.
💫Squeeze the back glute and push the slider backwards.
💫Don't forget to squeeze your core to keep the spine neutral.

• Post Run Stretch • I recently started adding a couple of runs into my weekly workout routine. In the past, I struggled with shin splints and tight hip flexors. As I’ve started adding running back into my routine, I’ve made a point to do a dynamic warm up before and static stretches to cool down.

If you have tightness in the front of your hip or in your quads give this stretch a go.
: :
Find any ledge/table/bench (just below hip height works best). Throw your foot up on there, engage your core to find a neutral pelvis and lean back slightly. : :
To up the intensity move your standing leg further away and lean back. Make sure to engage your core even more in this position to prevent dumping into your lower back.

TOP 3 CHEST BUILDING MOVEMENTS

When building your chest it is 🔑 to hit all ares of the Pec.

PEC FLY - This movement will hit the pec major. The largest part of the Pec muscle. By performing a flying movement to begin with will open up the chest and make sure all the muscle fibres are lengthened before entering the heavy compound movements.

FLAT BENCH - The bread and butter in building chest strength. This horizontal press movements will recruit huge amounts of muscle fibres and drive strength progress in the chest and triceps. Ive recently stopped touching the bar on my chest and this for me really ups the intensity and tension.

INCLINE PRESS - Finally once you have pre exhausted the chest with your flys and challenged your pressing strength on the bench. It is now time for the pec minor. The upper portion of the Pec. Hitting a solid incline pressing movement will finish the entire chest of leaving no area un touched.

I give to you, a chest workout 💪

WANT FLEXIBILITY? -

The Splits are something that you have to work hard for to get and pretty hard to maintain. It took me about 2 years to finally nail both the Middle and Front Splits. Ultimately, it will come down to your consistency that will determine if you’re getting the splits. It’s not for everyone, but for me it’s a great goal. Having a split does give you something that I can’t describe in words. It’s just one of those things that you don’t know what you’re missing until you have experienced it. Then you can outweigh the barriers and benefits and see if the journey was worth it. -

Something I tell myself always when I pursue a goal is, “will I want this skill in a year and am I willing to sacrifice a year of effort for this goal?” Fooling yourself to the contrary will only lead to frustration and possibly injury for trying to rush the process. Setting yourself free from unrealistic timelines will slow your rushing process and may even help you yield faster results. -

1. Stay consistent - Skills, whether its strength, flexibility, or body awareness require consistency, persistence, and patience
2. Be mindful - I can tell you by experience that skipping ahead just takes longer
3. Be OK with where you’re at today. Skills will be hard as hell for a VERY long time

Something I tell myself always when I pursue a goal is, “will I want this skill in a year and am I willing to sacrifice a year of effort for this goal?” Fooling yourself to the contrary will only lead to frustration and possibly injury for trying to rush the process.  Setting yourself free from unrealistic timelines will slow your rushing process and may even help you yield faster results. -

1. Stay consistent - Skills, whether its strength, flexibility, or body awareness require consistency, persistence, and patience 
2. Be mindful - I can tell you by experience that skipping ahead just takes longer 
3. Be OK with where you’re at today. Skills will be hard as hell for a VERY long time
