HUNGRY? Yes its December and staying on track with Nutrition!! Save the carbs for daytime energy!!!! What to do with Leftover Turkey?

Turkey Enchilada spaghetti-squash(SQ) casserole

#veggiesmostdinner No Tortilla needed
Layered with SQ, cheese, Turkey, green enchilada sauce Repeat!
Top with Cilantro and avocado. Serve warm
Deliciousness!! .
The SQ was cooked first
Cut in half
Top with fav spices
I used pepper, onion powder, salt
Place it upside down in microwave safe plate 4 minutes and wala!!!!! Or if you have all the time in the world
Place it upside-down in an oven safe plate for 45 min on 350 degrees!! With a fork, scrape out the SQ AND start layering!!! Simple, healthy, Stay on track!!! Place it back in oven after layering to melt cheese!! 5 min

Someone left me a comment on a transformation picture and said “you’re still fat”. I’m not going to lie it hurt my feelings. People can be so cruel. He chose not to acknowledge the hard work I put in. But he chose to try to point something I already know.
But I’m in the gym 5 days a week working on myself.
I’ve went from a size 24 jeans to 16/17. From a 3xl size shirt to large. I’m not perfect nor do I claim to be, but I’m trying.
Why would a grown man try to break a woman I do not know.
But I chose to delete him and his comment off of my page. He didn’t win because I didn’t spiral out of control like I would have a year ago! *

You know what would make me happy? Getting my mindset under control, and living my life WITHOUT worrying or being fearful of what other people think of me.⠀

You know what it would take to make that happen? MONTHS of relentless work solely TOWARDS my mindset.⠀

Do you know WHY I can’t control my mindset? Because if I were to take months of focusing on my mindset, that would mean taking MONTHS off of work and I’d be deeper in debt and struggling more financially than I already am, which would WORSEN my mindset.⠀

Do you feel that? That’s where I was.. and make no mistake in thinking that I’ve overcome it, I STILL fear others opinions from time to time and I give into the POWER of their thoughts.⠀

But I have been able to take steps towards conquering the negative thoughts.. I’ve made progress in being able to course correct and make different thoughts.. it’s taken 4 years⠀

It's crazy though.. that I signed up for a fitness program to lose weight and let off some steam, and although those were the only reasons I joined, it lead me to coaching which is what introduced me to personal development. The thing that has helped me most to improve my mental state of mind.. while gifting me the opportunity to simultaneously build a business on the side.⠀

The universe works in amazing ways, all you have to do is take one small step towards making a change in your life that you want.. and little by little everything else will fall into place 🥰⠀

This is prime time for winter blues.. decide to do something about it. I’m in your corner rooting for you because if I can improve the shit storm that my mind once was, I believe that you can do absolutely anything 💗

I wish we would normalize black women working out during a "healthy" pregnancy. I was depressed and on bed rest with my son. Soooo everyday I feel "ok" I exercise and the days I feel "good" I go to the gym. I listen to my body and stop when I need to.... I'm not going to do anything to put my daughters health at risk. 😍💘

Happy Monday AGGFamily! Tomorrow is #GivingTuesday and after a weekend full of giving, we couldn't help but focus on the amount of love and support that's been given to our organization as well as the youth we serve. In our first full year as a nonprofit organization, we took our first program at MECA Christian Elementary School to Niagara Falls, Canada on our first international experience! We have also been given the opportunity to build multiple social emotional learning programs and create experiences with one of the most supportive and restorative organizations serving alternative youth, @west40isc . Building programs with organizations throughout the Chicagoland area has pushed us, opened up doors and inspired us to take a huge leap of faith! This led us to take the first step toward building a residential school serving high risk youth by acquiring our first residential home for our young men, AGreaterU !




As #GivingTuesday approaches, just know each year, we could not create this impact without your support and we thank you for continuing to grow with us and this mission ❤️

FAILING IS GREAT!

I used to be afraid to fail. I would not do things that I really wanted to do because of that fear. I would wait until l was “ready” or use any excuse to procrastinate doing it because if I didn’t start I couldn’t fail!

Show of hands. Anyone else been there?

But it’s funny when I said screw it, stopped holding myself back and started failing…IT WAS GREAT!! With every failure I came closer to my goal. I would learn, re-adjust, and go back at it. Eventually I found the right path to get me to my goal!

Failure isn’t a bad thing, not at all! In fact we only ever really fail if we stop pursuing our goal. Everything that we perceive as failure is really just a bump in the road.

With every problem we encounter there’s a solution. If you consistently find enough solutions and solve enough problems you get to your goal!

On the other side of failure is growth. And with growth comes the success you seek!

The only thing holding you back from that success is you making the committed decision to start.

As most of you know last week I made a huge life changing decision to leave my current job. For the first time in years, I am completely uncertain of where this road is taking me. While I'm being prayerful as to what is my next adventure, one thing I am 1000% sure of is to stay on top of my health physically and mentally. I know today is the 2nd of December but why not grab hold and start an accountability challenge for 21 days. • Seated ins/Outs 30-45 sec
• Bicycle sit up 30-45 sec
• Leg Flutter 30-45 sec

I’m amazed by how much I’ll smoosh myself to show my little abs! 💅🏻⠀

Been trying to lose body fat and although the scales don’t show it, I’m noticing a slight change, an itty bitty one! Still gonna cry about the scales though (ill admit it)! ⠀

And although this is a goal of mine, I’m still cranky at how much people demonise women for gosh dang everything. We literally cannot win! If you have a goal for your body and your mind go for it! Just make sure you do it with love and aspiration - not out of self hatred. But give yourself a break if there are moments you do dislike yourself; we all go through it. ⠀

And yes, I’m perfectly aware of my little undie line and no, I don’t care.⠀

Have courage and be kind ladies 🥰

HOW WILL YOU START YOUR NEW DECADE?

It’s the first day of the last month in 2019! Where did this year go? Where did this DECADE go?

I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting on this past year. Thinking about where I was and where I am.

I came into this year over $20k in debt, living pay check to pay check, uninspired, and so lost.

I am beyond grateful to say that I am leaving this year debt free, with purpose, inspired, earning 5 figures monthly, and driving my dream car!

Thanks to keto and intermittent fasting, Allie has lost over 80 lbs and is never looking back! ⁣

Allie had struggled with her weight since middle school. She will never forget one day when an adult referred to her as "big girl" and it hit her to the core. As an emotional eater, Allie would use food as a crutch to make her feel happy or cure boredom. ⁣

Her poor relationship with food continued into her adult years. She would try to lose weight with different diets only to lose a few pounds and then gain them back. Her turning point came when her weight hit 245 on the scale and she saw a photo of herself at a friends wedding that brought up feelings of shame and guilt. ⁣

She decided to go all in to get healthy. After solely focusing on increasing exercise, she decided her diet needed a complete overhaul. She tried a point system with little luck and finally stumbled upon keto.⁣

Allie says that keto gives her energy and has helped her gain control over her past tendencies for emotional and binge eating. She no longer feels deprived or starving and is enjoying whole foods that make her feel good! ⁣

Give yourself 1 hour a day
Where is your mind most of the day.......school, work, kids, friends, traffic, etc 💕 a lot of us don’t give ourselves the respect and care that we deserve

Today I feel that people are busier than ever, which means people are lacking the self care that they deserve

But don’t we owe it to ourselves and the people around us

An hour a day of self care could look like different things to different people ➡️ exercise
Journaling
Meditating
Going for a walk
Reading a book
Etc

I encourage you this weekend, to invest just an hour a day on yourself!

Meditation. Are you into it? ❓

If I’m being completely honest, the last few weeks/months have been incredibly overwhelming.
.
From working essentially two full-time jobs, writing an e-book, creating new recipes, meeting deadlines, trying to maintain a social life, and more.. it’s been a lot.
.
I’ve noticed myself get extra moody about things that normally wouldn’t anger me, and I hear myself complaining a lot more these days.
.
It’s not fair to those around me. Especially considering this is the path I chose.
.
I’ve decided to incorporate more mindfulness + meditation into my daily routine during this time to keep myself, my priorities + my anxiety in check.
.
I’m SO excited to be partnering with @headspace as I push through this difficult season. This partnership seriously came at the perfect time.

It’s insane what a little deep breathing and stillness can do to realign yourself.
.
From stress + anxiety to sleep + personal growth, there are so many guided meditations I can’t wait to dive into.

Trying to remind myself as I begin this journey that it’s not about perfecting meditation but rather about the practice.

This guy just completely blows my mind going from his heaviest being over 20 stone and to now standing at around the 11 stone mark is absolutely amazing! In life there's a choice guys you can sit with the easy or go with the hard! Of course everyone would prefer the easy right? But then what would you be achieving? Absolutely nothing in life is easy! But if you put your mind, time and dedication it's shows what can be achieved! Every day this guy pushes himself to remain fit and to remain on top of his progression within himself the motivation and dedication this guys has is like nothing I've ever seen!"

🌏🖤 World Mental Health Day 🖤🌏
Last night @kingjaseeats and I attended an amazing Mental Health Chat hosted by @jimmysburgers from @easeys and @agejp from @theblueprintinitiative on the rooftop at @easeys.at.theemerson, in that short two hour chat I learnt more about Men’s Mental Health and myself in general than I have over my entire life’s journey. Although this post originally started out as a @tribe submission that I didn’t get, I also learnt there’s more important things in life than money and one of those things is being truly happy within yourself.
Mental Illness isn’t Racist, Sexist, Ageist, it doesn’t care about your Social Standing or how much money you make, it’s something we all deal with every day and it has to be constantly worked on to be improved just like everything else in life.
Today on World Mental Health Day I make the @heartonmysleeve pledge “to have a real conversation when I’m not ok” today and every day as well as asking those around me if they’re ok.
Do yourself a favour fellas and head over to @theblueprintinitiative, they’re doing some truly amazing work Creating Mentally Fit Blueprints as well as providing Teaching Tools to battle Mental Health Issues.
Stay positive and remember to work on your Mental Health every day.
