Fruit truly is nature’s candy! 🥭🍒 It’s sweet, it’s fun, and it’s full of beneficial nutrients like vitamin C and A 🌸 Whilst it may seem that some fruits contain an excessive amount of sugar (e.g. the mango, fig & cherry I’ve drawn), it’s important to put this sugar into context! 🙌🏼 Unlike real candy/lollies where the sugars are “free”, the sugar in fruit is packed alongside fibre and water, which means the body digests and absorbs it more slowly ⚡️ As a result, most fruit is low-moderate** GI and it raises your blood sugar more slowly than candy 🍭⁣

This doesn’t mean candy is bad! 😈 Each has it’s place 🙈 Fruit is great with cereal/yoghurt for breakfast or as a snack ⚡️ while candy is a great hollyday. More to come on this 🌸💛⁣

Growing up, Black Friday was such a special day for the ladies in my family. Before getting to the stores early was a popular thing, we all would get to the mall on long island around 7 am and casually explore the stores, take advantage of the sales and have an amazing ladies lunch together. We would be home by 2pm and it was around that time the mall would start to get crowded.

Black Friday is for sure different today. The thought of actually going into the stores early in the morning that day gives me anxiety. I do still love a good deal though so Black Friday will be spent on my laptop checking all the things out. I feel like I already had a month of High Holidays 🇮🇱 The thing that’s helped me most is being consistent. Not being extreme on either side🤦🏼‍♀️

☀️Waking up same time every day. Setting my schedule Sunday for my workouts. Still aiming for my total steps a day even if it’s more of a sedentary schedule that day. And most of all FOOD. 🥦🥬🥑making sure I’m in charge of a few meals or the grocery shopping for my Virginia family. Knowing what’s in the fridge that I can eat is a huge relief instead of snacking my way through the days! 🛒. .

🖤 Lastly... don’t be afraid to have that dessert! (No not ALL the desserts) but we being super restrictive is more harmful. It makes us splurge even worse later!! 🍫

Goal: clear the freezer and pantry before the holidays.⁣

One thing that’s really important to me is not wasting food or money. So, about 2-3 times a year, I focus on cooking what we have on hand and clearing the freezer/pantry.⁣

I made a list of everything in our freezers that needs to be eaten up. Now, I’ll create meals around these ingredients and cross the items off as we go. ⁣Thank you @letsliveandlearn for the idea!

Because if I buy it, I commit to using it. Bonus: it’s a great way to lower your grocery bill during an expensive time of year.⁣

These are GMO disgusting & taste like ham 🤮. That much sodium will swell my eyes shut! 😑. Still spilling the facts in a vid though 🤫😉. Raspberry and white chocolate pancakes! 1.5 syns for the entire thing! ✨








40g of porridge oats (hexB)
1 large egg
3 tbs of fat free yoghurt
2 tsp of baking powder (0.5syns)
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 tbs of white chocolate raspberry @skinnyfoodco Syrup
1 tsp of pink food colouring
Blend all together until smooth and leave to sit for 20 minutes. Heat up pan with some fry light. When hot add small mixture and wait till the top bubbles, then flip over and repeat. For extra Yumminess add a thin spread of @skinnyfoodco Raspberry jam in between each pancake! I decorated with banana and orange segments.

So this is not how I thought my first week would go. I’ve had 2 days off plan and I’m seriously not expecting to have a loss of inches or weight this week. I’m disappointed that on some days I’ve let my feeling rule me and instead of resisting food I’ve been gorging on it. I want to do this program properly. This week is a practice run 🙈 They way the program works is I do this for 4 weeks before moving up to the next stage but I’m gonna do an extra week so will do this for 5 weeks which also means it will be a 13 week program 😂😫 Anyway I’m still gonna finish this week up and try and be good for the next 3 day. .

It doesn't work that way. It may for some but it doesn't last long if you don't stop, smell the roses, appreciate the present, and do a yoga pose in the middle of he grocery store 😂☺️ .

Each step of the way, I have noticed that if I rushed it...I wouldn't be where I am today. .

The journey (aka the ups, downs, and all arounds) is what makes you transform. .

Take a second today to embrace your journey, your struggles, your triumphs, your setbacks, your uncomfortable zone, your freeze in time "perfect moments" .

This is a concept that took me awhile to not only understand but embrace

So once again I’m behind schedule. I should have done this yesterday but I find it so hard to motivate myself and get to the gym in the evening. So I won’t be having a rest day this weekend as I’ll be doing Thursday & Fridays workout. Also my food yesterday was awful too.

Ingredients 🍱:
1 lb raw shrimp 🍤 peeled and deveined⁠⠀
1 lb dry linguine pasta 🍝⁠⠀
4 cloves garlic minced⁠⠀
1 red chili (mild) or Habanero (intense) finely diced (optional)⁠⠀
1 tsp sea salt or to taste⁠⠀
1/2 tsp pepper or to taste⁠⠀
6 cups milk (full fat or 2%)⁠⠀
1/2 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese⁠⠀
a small bunch of fresh chopped basil to garnish⁠

DIRECTIONS 👩‍🍳:⠀
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.⁠⠀
Add garlic and chili, and sautee for about 1 minute, until just fragrant.⁠⠀
Stir in the shrimps and cook until pink, about 3-4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper (to taste), then remove from the pan and set aside.⁠⠀
Pour the milk 🥛 in, reduce the heat and bring it to a gentle simmer. Season generously with salt and pepper.⁠⠀
Stir in the pasta and cook (on low heat), while stirring occasionally, until it gets to al dente (about 7-9 minutes). At this point, you can place the lid on, but remember to give it a stir every 2-3 minutes.⁠⠀
Return the shrimps to the pan and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese 🧀 , then mix to combine. (If the pasta is a bit too dry you can add 1/2-1 cup of milk and mix well to combine).⁠⠀
Serve immediately with fresh ground pepper and chopped basil 🌿 .

6 chicken thighs (or 4 large chicken breast fillets pounded thin) (bone in or out | skin on or off)
Salt and pepper, to taste
6 tablespoons butter, divided
1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) honey
1 tablespoon minced garlic, or 4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice, or juice of half a lemon
2-4 tablespoons chicken broth (OPTIONAL)
3 cups broccoli florets (raw or steamed) OPTIONAL
4 Lemon wedges, to serve
2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley

DIRECTIONS 👩‍🍳:
Arrange oven shelf about 8-inches away from heat element in your oven. Preheat your oven to broil (or grill in Australia) on medium heat.
Pat chicken dry with paper towel, then season with salt and pepper. Melt one tablespoon of butter in an oven-proof pan or cast iron skillet over medium high heat.
Sear chicken thighs, skin side down first, until the skin is nice and crispy (about 5 minutes). Flip and sear again until golden and crisp (about another 5 minutes). Drain most of the excess oil from the pan, leaving about 2 tablespoons of the pan juices for added flavour. Transfer chicken to a warm plate; set aside.

Jalapeño Apple Sweet Potato Hash with Ham and Eggs @themealprepmanual

INGREDIENTS ⁣
Makes 5 servings ⁣
10 eggs⁣
1 lb ham steak⁣
2 medium sweet potatoes (mine was 450g total)⁣
1-2 jalapeños depending on spice preference ⁣
1 red pepper⁣
1/2 sweet onion⁣
1 golden delicious apple⁣
1.5 tbsp olive oil⁣
Salt and pepper to taste⁣

PREPARATION ⁣
1. Preheat oven to 425F⁣
2. Hard boil 10 eggs. ⁣
3. Wash and cut potatoes into a medium dice. Toss in 1 tbsp of olive oil and bake for 10 minutes. Flip and cook an additional 10 minutes. ⁣
4. Cut the onion and red pepper into a small dice. Cut the jalapeño into slices. Cut out the seeds if you don’t like heat. ⁣
5. Heat 1/2 tbsp of oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté the onions for a few minutes and then add in the pepper and jalapeño. Cook until soft. ⁣
6. Cut the apple into a medium dice.⁣
7. Remove from heat. Add the potatoes and apple to the pan with the peppers. Season with salt and pepper. ⁣
8. Cook the ham however you please. You don’t even need to if you don’t want to. ⁣
9. Divide into 5 servings. Nutrition information is per serving.⁣
