Put my back out last Tuesday doing deadlifts with a rookie mistake 🤦🏻‍♂️so not been able to train much until this week.
Yesterday did a 100kg strict press single to test the back fully raw bar the belt as my kit is in the wash (@pdaspinall will appreciate that 😂)
And 140kg deadlift from today focusing purely on form and technique which felt comfortable, fast and painless.
Just going to spend the next 5 weeks light and drop a bit of weight at the same time whist the back heals up. ➖ ➖ ➖ ➖ ➖ ➖ ➖ ➖ ➖ ➖ ➖ ➖ ➖ ➖ ➖

Most of you may not know that I'm incredibly camera shy.. so this photoshoot was a challenge for me.  My anxiety was through the roof and I was extremely uncomfortable for the majority of the day.  Thankfully I pushed through and towards the end started to relax and enjoy it. It's good to push ourselves to do things we are uncomfortable doing. It's how we grow. And it was a huge help that  @georgekontaxis is so professional and a true master of his craft!

Bisschen zersaute Haare nicht?🤔

Ich war am Montag in meiner alten Schule in der ich früher war. Genauer Hintergrund warum ich in diese Schule gegangen bin, möchte ich nicht erwähnen🤷🏼‍♂️. Auf jeden Fall war ich in meiner alten Schule und als ich da war habe ich erstmal festgestellt, dass alle Türen offen waren😂. Deswegen konnten wir uns auch einfach umschauen. Auf dem Bild kann man mich zwar in einer Garderobe sehen, aber direkt in die Schule hinein z.B. In ein Schulzimmer konnte man nicht, war selbstverständlich abgeschlossen🤷🏼‍♂️. Ich zeigte einem guten Kumpel das ganze Schulareal und auch die Turnhalle wo ich turnen war. Es kamen einem bei dieser Schule einfach irgendwie alte Erinnerungen hoch und man erinnerte sich an Leute die einmal mit einem in die Schule gegangen sind😅.

Sometimes it felt like I was stuck in a rut. Like damn. I'm never going to be able to push more then  40 or 50, its to hard.then boom.  You get stronger.  You can push harder , and it's easier. You feel that spark of inspiration  like your hard work is paying off!!! Pump those weights. Drink ya proetin  shake. Get stronger.  I  was able to push up to 15 pounds then  what I normally can today !! Such a great  feeling 🏋🔥☇☄💥💢👑

😎Here’s the second episode of this insulin series! You have certainly heard that mainly carbohydrates are responsible for driving insulin to the roof when ingested.

☝🏽However, the problem with this line of thinking is that also protein highly stimulates insulin secretion. In fact, in Boelsma et al. study we can see how even at the same caloric amount, the two compared meals have actually two diverse responses to insulin secretion: the highest one in protein actually caused an higher insulin secretion along with higher perceived levels of satiety and postprandial wellness suchlike better relaxation and alertness. The lower protein meal, on the other hand, caused an higher spike in blood glucose levels and a slightly lower insulin response.

👨🏻‍🔬Another study by Pal & Ellis, in which the meals had 51 grams of protein and 11 grams of carbohydrates, shows how whey protein besides having an higher insulin response when compared to egg, tuna and turkey protein, also had the strongest effect on appetite suppression.

🤔Interestingly, in the same reported study the caloric consumption in the upcoming meal was lower in the whey group, admittedly reducing the overall food intake than when the subjects were fed with the other types of protein.

🤓The take-homes from these studies are that amino-acids, which are the building block of protein, can directly stimulates the pancreas to secrete insulin without having to be converted to glucose first such as carbohydrates. Focusing too much on insulin rather than your overall diet and adherence is like "missing the forest for the trees" thus stop worrying on this precious hormone which actually assists in controlling blood sugar and regulating appetite.

There’s self-doubt & idea doubt.

Self-doubt is paralyzing. It leads you to freeze.

But idea doubt is energizing. It motivates you to test, to experiment.

To refine. It’s kinda like being told “you can’t/won’t do something”.

Makes you want to do it even more, amiright? At least that’s how I am built.
.
So instead of telling yourself “I can’t ever do that or I won’t ever do that”. Tell yourself “can I do that!? Will I ever do that?”.
.
Then WORK. DO. TRY. PROGRESS.
.
A persons greatest limitations are not genetic, but imposed by self-doubt, insecurities, indecision, and timidity.
