First photo 3/19 || second photo 12/19 || I started my fitness journey when I learned I gained a lot of weight in grad school and I’ll admit that wasn’t the healthiest reason. My mental health had been getting worse and worse and I had be losing control of my life between juggling two jobs and school. I felt bad in general and then even worse about myself physically. I went through some medical stuff (to keep it light) and afterwards my body really didn’t act the same way. I tried to sign up for a number of influencer fitness routines and what I got from them was some basics but they were still missing so much. Then @gracebeverley dropped @shreddy and it was what I had been looking for.

Some things I want to celebrate: 🌱 learned how to cook new and healthy vegan meals (that wasn’t the same one bland meal on repeat!) 🌱 a community that I go to for everything from whether I’m doing a workout right to venting about my day 🌱 establishing a routine that helps me start my day and gives me something to look forward to 🌱 feeling stronger, healthier, and more confident 🌱 learning new workouts 🌱 a chat that I check in with everyday yo get the motivation to get to through my day, to the gym, and to encourage others however I can! 🌱 learned how to actually get out of my head at the gym. I used to have a hard time with this but having a routine to follow and a chat to jump into if I need really helps with it. This has helped my mental health tremendously, as has feeling confident and stronger

I’m going to take the next few days to reevaluate my next goals and keep pushing for gains. Even as I post this I’m still nervous to even post these photos but I want to share #letsgetshreddy

Recreated one of my favourite Thai dishes and it actually came out really good! Beef stir fried with shallots, red pepper, holy basil, garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce and served over rice 😋

Shreddy Leg day was a killer 😩 but, as always, I loved it 😍 first leg day in a very long time where I've been hurting immediately afterwards... Normally I have a dull ache and the next morning I'm hurting... Not today though 😣😂 only complaint is that I clicked off the app to record a video after I'd done it multiple times with no issues and it kicked me out of my entire workout... So I had to input it all again 🙃 now I'm going to make protein mug cakes and a smoothie and then go to sleep 😴

Well hello there 🤤😏 I made this pasta a couple of days ago and it was as I was expecting UNBELIEVABLE delicious! Spaghetti courgetti 🍝 with toooooons of random veggies I found in my fridge in a pesto yummy sauce! 🥦🌶🍆 I genuinely believe in healthy yet yummy eating... why would you have a boiled boring brocoli or greens when you can have loads of mixed vegetables nicely cooked 😊 just find your own method to have your veggies in a way that you will actually enjoy and then it will just be part of your lifetime! #trustme
Also, I can’t believe @shreddy challenge is nearly ending 😍! Hopefully all my girls will continue the journey with me! 💪🏼 and of course... a @shreddy review is coming soon... 👀

A different Abs workout 💪🏻🌱
Planting an orchard! Digging holes, shovelling mud and bailing water!

Good hard work and it felt so satisfying!
I was fit and strong able to move from task to task without breathers despite the thick heavy mud and driving rain.
I haven’t been in a practical situation for a while to test my strength and stamina but @shreddy has clearly helped towards this!

Together we planted over 40 fruit trees and I love that I can visit this area in the future having helped create it 🌱🥰 #letsgetshreddy #shreddy #planting #wildlifetrust #orchard #environment #environmentallyfriendly #plantsofinstagram #planttrees #digging #alternativeworkouts #absworkout #treehugger #cheshirewildlifetrust

12 days of giving! ✨🎄✨🎄✨🎄 Making good progress with organising this and I will be starting on Monday the 9th to finish just in time with the end of term before heading home for Christmas. Currently looking like a sloth finishing up some reflective essays due on Monday. Had my first consultation with real actors in clinical skills today which was very interesting 😂, definitely learnt a lot

I made croissants 🥐 and best of all: they are filled with @lotusbiscoffuk spread! 🤤 Is there anything better? I don’t think so!
I just got vegan dough that comes in one of these cans that you bang open on a counter and it opens (are those an international thing? I don’t even know 🤷🏼‍♀️) and put a teaspoon of Biscoff spread in the middle before rolling them up and baking them!
Such a quick and easy delicious treat! Work was kind of okay today. Just the end was busy AF 🙈 But I went to Starbucks with a friend after work and we had a nice girls talk which was awesome 💖

✨LETS TALK SHREDDY DAY FOUR✨Today was a Booty session that literally kicked my damn arse! 🍑 Towards the end my reps became less and less until I couldn’t complete the last two exercises due to dizziness! 😩 After talking to @shreddy_rp I realised I need to be kinder to myself as I did manage to complete 27 mins which is better than nothing and it’s only week one 💪🏻💛 It’s just upsetting to be really enjoying something & then not be physically able to complete it... 🍑

Sometimes ugly foods are the best tasting, and let us all be mindful of that throughout life 😛. Had a bangin workout today that made me see the light. I'm doing a blend of shreddy workouts and puregym classes at the moment. Basically if I really struggle to get up in the morning (increasing occurrence as end of year fatigue kicks in), I book into a 5:30 class. Just doing what fits with my lifestyle 🤓

Aaand this. Pasta, marinara sauce, mushrooms, spinach, broccoli & vegan meatballs. Bone apple teeth.

Stop Telling Yourself You Can’t ❌
The mind is one of the most powerful tools🛠
It will follow the orders you give it & the thoughts you feed it.
The way you talk to yourself matters! If you keep telling yourself you are no good at skipping, that you are ‘not able’ to skip, well guess what? You won’t be good at skipping.
Just like if you constantly say you can’t remember names, you won’t remember names. 🤷🏼‍♀️
The mental barriers and beliefs we create for ourselves are the most challenging to overcome. We have to learn to retrain our thoughts; change the negative thought patterns into positives ones- because if we don’t, life will become 10x harder and we will never reach our goals.
Negative self-talk is counter productive and will not help you reach your goals or help you to make any progress on your weaknesses. Constantly putting yourself down and being at war with yourself will not help you grow.
How you talk to yourself matters, the beliefs and thoughts you create directly effect your life- make your thoughts count. 🤗🥰 #beaybl

8 weeks of shreddy and I honestly cannot express how worth the money it’s been.

For me shreddy hasn’t been about weight loss or gaining muscle (obviously they’ve been happy side effects)!!! For me shreddy has been about confidence and my confidence in the gym and in body is at an all time high! •
The past 8 weeks has taught me:
💕love my body •
💕push myself with weight training •
💕that I am stronger then I ever knew •
💕that a gym guide will change how I work in the gym •
💕to fall in love with the gym again •

This post goes is for all those people who don’t think they can do it or are stopped by self doubt. I used to think I could never be strong or fit because my body just wasn’t that ‘type’ but I was so wrong. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a long journey and it never really ends but if you want it hard enough then put the effort in, stop making excuses and you’ll see results. Simple as that 🤪

Don't you guys just love it when you send your professors a question on whether you have to retake an exam or just edit it a bit and they reply with something so vague you don't even know if it's addressed to you?? This shit has been stressing me out all week and i feel awful about it but oh well 🤪🤪 Hope everyone else has had a better day and are smashing the last couple of workouts of the @shreddy challenge🥰

@shreddy reflection...Wow nearly the end of week 8 of the @shreddy challenge...how are we here already?! As I mentioned in a previous post, I started the challenge with a view to gain confidence, strength and health back after being the most unwell I’ve ever been in my like with an occlusive deep vein thrombosis in my femoral vein. DVTs are life threatening and I’m still on the road to recovery at the moment, I’m still on a course of medication that won’t stop until March next year, but wow @shreddy has given me the chance to get my confidence back, gain some strength and stamina back, make improvements each and every day and just get back to the old me! While doing the challenge (a couple weeks back) I was also diagnosed with a hereditary blood condition, which was one of the causes of the DVT, teamed with the combined pill, which means I will have to take extra care for the rest of my life and really make sure I look after myself. The @shreddy app has not only helped me get back to me and make health and physical gains, but I’ve also dropped 2.5kg in the process on the weight loss plan...so here I am at week 8 (excuse the questionable posing, I need more practice it seems). Feeing confident, strong and proud thanks to @Shreddy and @gracebeverly💪🏼 I mean every word I say about the app, so if you’re thinking about it, just go for it, you won’t regret it 💖 #shreddy #letsgetshreddy #bloodclot #stoptheclot #dvt #recovery #weightloss

✨The return of the gym selfie✨
It's officially too cold and dark to enjoy my morning runs outside.❄️ My strength training could also use an upgrade so here I am, back on the gym for winter. 💪
I've downloaded @shreddy for a bit of structure and inspiration and I plan to loosely follow it, replacing some workouts with my usual running drills/training. Gonna focus on compound lifts, upper/lower split and treadmill speedwork. ⏱️
My goal for winter this year is to get real.fucking.fast for spring races. 💥

Who wants to incorporate a new machine into your workout today? We came across @tj_twinfit "Cable Upper Body Workout" and it's awesome 💪⚡⁠⠀

It's great to be able to have a back up option in the gym especially if you work during the day and can only get there at peak times. The cable machine can look daunting but here are a few exercises to get those arms aching👇⁠⠀

How @shreddy has improved my life, thank u @gracebeverley ⭐️

Before the shreddy challenge started I was debating with my boyfriend whether I should do it or not, at that time I had 0 motivation, wasn’t eating as much as I should and was tired 24/7. I wasn’t in a good mindset. -
But I decided to get my shit together and have at least some consistency in my life. And my godddddd it’s helped me SO MUCH.

⭐️I’ve been getting up earlier to go to the gym, meaning I’m getting more stuff done throughout the day whilst feeling energised!!
⭐️eating a lot more, I used to hardly cook whilst being at uni, but I started meal prepping all the amazing recipes 😍
⭐️physical changes!!! progress photos have shown me that if I can put the work in, I can see differences, and I lovvveeee that it’s paying off.
⭐️and my mental health has improved, with the exercises and eating enough food it gives me a lot of energy to actually get stuff done! I don’t feel tired and feel so much better within my self.
⭐️also met some friends for life, who are the most supportive bunch of girls I’ve ever met! It felt like we all knew eachother from the first messages in the group chat 💘

‼️So the most important message from all this is just go for it!!! stop doubting yourself and you’ll be able to achieve so much 💗

I'm really enjoying training atm!

I can see my muscles more. Theres a lot more definition. I'm feeling really good about myself. I'm lifting heavier. It's going well! Need to get that kind of progress in other parts of my life!! .
