Make sure you don't drop your butt too low! Aaaaaand keep your elbows pushing against the inside of your knees

With the jump lunge think of your back leg like a "kickstand". It's there for balance, not to put all your weight into it, that's for the front leg/foot

This strong trio of women dominated (slash got dominated by) a fun but intense workout. 💪

In addition to some speeded deadlifts and double KB squats, we tackled:
5 rounds for time [6x swing, 6x snatch, 6x overhead press, 6x squat, 1 TGU] each side. .
Because this was a repeat from last week, I got the chance to upgrade from 26lb to 30lb. I’m a data nerd so I loved seeing the stats from the other class on the board so I could compare/compete.

This time around, I had to switch from OHP to push press part way through. Because this workout is all on one side before repeating on the other, my arm felt like toast by the time we got around to the Turkish get up— like barely functional, falling off, useless. Guess that means I don’t need to scale up again next week?

A bear-crawl is basically crawling on all fours without allowing your knees to touch the ground. You probably did this exercise all the time when you were little, but trust me - this killer move is anything but child's play. All you need is your own bodyweight, a little bit of floor space and plenty of stamina.

Bear crawls strengthen and increase endurance in your arms, shoulders and chest, plus they also improve your total core function and stability - not bad for just one move.

Another muscle that bear crawls target is the serratus anterior. This is an important muscle located on the side of your chest (by your armpit) that assists in respiration by helping to lift the ribs. It also helps to stabilize the shoulder blade when we lift anything up over our heads - whether that’s benching an extra 10lbs or reaching for that forgotten tin of beans from the top cupboard. .

What would Monday be without having to crawl up the stairs when you get home from the gym in the evening?!🤣 Absolutely smashed legs today! Don’t be afraid to test yourself. Set a goal, set the bar high for a particular workout and just reach for it. This was a lot of volume and took a lot of time, but it was worth it. Sometimes those workouts that scare you and tax you the most are the ones where you truly figure out what you can handle. Test your limits. Don’t be afraid to do more than you think you can handle every now and then.

IMPROVE YOUR LOW BACK: 
4 Strength Exercises

Your weekly strength routine probably involves core work. But does that include low back strengthening exercises. Your core is more than the flexor muscles on the front side of the body! Your core is a cylinder that wraps all the way around your body and includes the muscles on the sides and back. They all work to stabilize the spine. You must train your extensor muscles to maintain strength and tone, just like any other muscle in the body. These extensor muscles include the large paired muscles in the lower back, called erector spinae, which help hold up the spine, and gluteal muscles.

The following moves focus on strengthening lumbar muscles combined with core stability, which will reduce the risk of low back pain if exercises are done correctly, and on a regular basis. All moves shown here are medium to advanced in difficulty. 
I recommend beginning with some easy low back strengthening exercises first before advancing to these.

▪️SB Dolphin Kicks x45 sec
▪️Superman x45 sec
▪️SB Hip Press 1-Leg Balance x 45 sec
My suggestion is to pick 1-2 of the following exercises and superset it with your ab work. Do NOT do all these exercises together as a circuit.

🏋️‍♀️Making Bar-Body Contact🏋️‍♀️
Here's a drill to help if you struggle to make bar body contact in the snatch or clean! This is a great drill to teach the athlete what it feels like to pull the bar BACK rather than just pulling the bar UP. This drill helps the athlete make a habit of firing the right muscles. As a result- the bar will be close enough for a solid contact point. Pull BACK! Also, this drill finishes with a snatch low pull (finish your extension & make contact). Drill summary: Gets the athlete in the habit of using their lats to pull the bar BACK into them rather than using the arms to pull UP on the bar.
