I’ve had a considerable amount of oysters so far in my life yet these are the freshest and meatiest ones I’ve ever had. I’m not the biggest fans of oyster as I don’t enjoy slimey textures, yet these ones weren’t at all! I had all three types they do @nv80grillandbar : natural, vietnamese dressing and bloody mary jelly. Tabasco and the tiniest sprinkle of salt with the natural one went down beautifully- kinda wish I put some on the bloody mary too but that was great regardless! My fave has to be the natural one because you can customise it yourself ☺️review of the star of the show to come in my next post!

I love raw 🍯 because it feeds our commensal flora, but also acts as a gentle antimicrobial. Other herbal antimicrobials like oil of oregano and citrus seed oil completely decimate the commensal (“good”) microbes in our GIT acting as a non-selective 💣 to our microbiome. .

A little lunch action around two is how I’m doing it today 🤷🏻‍♀️ Currently I’m microblading school this week, which I am lovingggg, so I ran home real quick during our break and threw all the goods together that I meal prepped this week! I swear sometimes meal prep can be a pain but it’s day like this that I swear it’s the holy grail. 🙌✨

EGG ROLL IN A BOWL
Cooked jasmine rice
Sautéed coleslaw mix
Roasted carrots
And 1lb of ground turkey that I cooked with a few shakes of soy sauce, chili paste to taste, and random shakes of cinnamon, clove, and chili powder.
And top it all with some sriracha and green onion. 🙌

Honestly one of the easiest meals ever and in Spencer’s words, he could eat this everyday 😘 Also peep my dog I mean it’s gotta be good 😜 HAPPY SATURDAY FRIENDS!

Roasted veggie nourishing bowl 🧡 packed with quinoa, spinach, crispy chickpeas, avocado, veggies & a two ingredient sauce to make a powerhouse meal! Start by tossing your favorite veggies (I used broccoli🥦, sweet potato🍠, carrots🥕, brussel sprouts & red onion) in a little avocado oil with Himalayan salt, pepper and granulated garlic. Then toss precooked chickpeas in the same seasoning as the vegetables in addition to turmeric, paprika and cumin. Roast at 350° for about 40min flipping once half way through. Depending on your portions you can make this a one-sheet meal and cook your vegetables and chickpeas on the same baking tray! 👍😉 Once the chickpeas and veggies are done built your bowl and mix up the tastiest & easiest sauce ever!!! Take a few tbsp of hummus and dilute it with fresh squeezed lemon juice and drizzle over your bowl and you're in flavor country!! Happy Saturday everyone 💛

Easy Turkey Gravy

Easy Turkey Gravy is a rich, thick and creamy gravy that will be a family favorite this holiday season! You can’t go wrong with a homemade gravy on your dinner table.

Prep time 5 min
Total time 15 min
Serves 12

INGREDIENTS
Pan Drippings from 12-14 pound turkey
1 1/2-2 cups chicken broth
1/4 cup flour (can substitute glutenfree)
salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

In a saucepan or roasting pan bring allow the drippings to deglaze over medium high heat. Whisk in 1 cup chicken broth and skim large pieces of fat.
Whisk in flour and continue to simmer until lumps have dissolved and gravy has thickened. Add an additional 1/2 cup- 1 cup chicken broth to get desired thickness. Salt and Pepper to taste. 💥 TIP 💥
To Make Ahead: simply follow the recipe instructions and make your turkey gravy. Once it is completely cooled, place in an airtight container or ziplock baggie. This will store in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 days.

Warming up: when ready to reheat, pour it back into a saucepan and add a 1 to 2 tablespoons of chicken broth or water to thin it or keep it thick depending on your preference. Heat it on low heat gently, stirring it occasionally until it is warmed through. This will take about 10 to 15 minutes.

I made Half Baked Harvest slow cooker French wine chicken (with a few adaptations) and OMG it was sooo good!
A healthy dish full of nutrition for your gut & mood 😻
📜 deets:
1 cup dry red cab
1/3 cup coconut milk 🥥
2 T grainy mustard
1 chopped yellow onion
4 cloves garlic, minced--> good anti inflammatory
1 t sea salt
1 t black pepper
4 chicken breasts--> protein to help heal your gut
2 T thrive algae oil--> healthy fats for your brain
2 T fresh thyme
2 T fresh sage, chopped
1/3 cup fresh grated parm

-1/2 cup raw cashews, soaked in water for 3+ hours and drained
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil on medium heat. Add in the garlic and cook for 5-6 minutes, until fragrant. Transfer to a blender along with all the remaining ingredients. Blend until smooth, then pour the mixture back into the pan. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and if desired, add in some smoked paprika and dried sage. Using a spatula, whisk the sauce mixture frequently until thickened, about 6-10 minutes. To serve: toss with 4-5 portions of cooked pasta and garnish with additional olive oil. Or, serve as a sauce / dip for any dish.

-5-6 king oyster mushrooms, shredded with a fork
-1/2 tsp each: garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, ground cumin, dried oregano
*for the fried rice:
-1 onion, diced
-4 cloves garlic, minced
-1 tbsp ginger, minced
-3 cups chopped veggies of choice: carrots, peas, bell peppers, broccoli, etc
-2 tbsp soy sauce
-1 tbsp curry powder
-1 block medium firm tofu, crumbled (@housefoodsamerica)
-3 stalks spring onions, finely sliced
-3 cups cooked white rice
-2 tbsp sesame oil
-salt and pepper, to taste
Preheat your oven to 400°F/200°C. Using two forks, shred the caps and stems of the king oyster mushrooms into pieces. Toss in a bowl with the spices and olive oil, then place on a lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown. Set aside.
In a large skillet, heat some oil on medium-high heat and fry the onion, garlic, and ginger for 5 minutes. Add in veggies, curry powder, soy sauce, and tofu. Once the veggies are tender, stir in the cooked oyster mushrooms, rice, spring onions, and sesame oil. Cook for 4-5 more minutes before seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Serve warm.

TBH, I don’t follow any food rules or diets. I believe food is meant to be enjoyed, and not regimented. But, I do like routine and there’s certain things that have worked really well for me, which I openly share in this space with you guys. One of them is sticking to a light, but satisfying dinner. I do mostly plant-based or vegetarian at night and stick to protein-heavy meals at lunch time. I’ve lately been on a salmon and roasted squash kick; I also like chicken and olives and jasmine rice. 🙃🙌🏻💣 Mornings are usually carbs, healthy fats and fruit. I am not afraid of all the natural sugars in fruit. I eat tons of it daily & it works for me.

This quinoa salad makes for a great quick dinner, and can be easily customized: you can add tofu, tuna or salmon! It has steamed then roasted broccoli, crunchy bell peppers in every color, sweet cherry tomatoes, crumbled feta, the best vinaigrette and the most flavorful quinoa cooked in bone broth. I don’t usually create “healthy” desserts because I really believe in eating the real thing. These Chickpea Blondies are delicious - don’t get me wrong! - but, if I was craving a true, gooey blondie, these just wouldn’t the trick.

Buuuut since there’s a time and a place for everything, I added the recipe below for ya 🙃 Remember this weekend: don’t freak out if your eating looks a little different than it does during the week. Your weekend looks different than your week, so that makes sense! Enjoy the foods you love without overthinking. You don’t have to save up calories before eating anything or burn an excess of calories after eating either, I promise 💛

Chickpea Banana Blondies:
1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
2. In a food processor or blender, combine: 1 can rinsed/drained chickpeas, 1 ripe banana, 1 egg, 2 tbsp maple syrup, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp cinnamon.
3. Mix in chocolate chips. Pour into a loaf pan and bake for ~45 minutes, until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
4. Let cool and cut into 6-8 pieces.

I learned you guys really love chickpea-based desserts! Which was really cool timing, since I had another can of chickpea laying around just waiting to be used 😎 *That one empty spot from the chocolate chip that fell out will be the end of me* 😒

10 minute meal: Shrimp, Avo, & Greens tossed in a lemony-garlicky tahini sauce 😍 Tag a friend! 😁

This is super easy to whip together. Today I used some Josie’s arugula, fresh watercress, sliced cucumber (they are in there somewhere), diced avocado, fresh jalapeño peppers, added some shrimp and tossed it in the tahini sauce. A nice light + refreshing summer salad that keeps the mind + muscles happy.

Here is how I made it:
.
1.Start with some wild deveined shrimp and toss with some olive oil, sea salt, fresh pepper, garlic powder, a little paprika. Experiment & have fun with what you like though. Mix everything well & let sit.
.
2.Take a large pan and add 1 or 2 tablespoons olive oil + 1 tbsp minced garlic. After a few seconds, add the shrimp and cook for about 1-1.5 minutes on each side. Don’t overcook as it turns rubbery. Set aside.
.
3.In a large bowl, add your greens + veggies. I used a big base of arugula and added fresh watercress, 🥑, sliced jalapeños (deseed these if you dont like it super spicy), some cucumbers. You can add anything you have on hand.
.
4.Next is the dressing. I used 2 tablespoons high quality velvety tahini, 1 tablespoon olive oil, juice from 1/2 large lemon, sea salt, 1 tsp freshly minced garlic, and about 1 tablespoon of finely chipped fresh cilantro. Mix everything together, then taste. You’ll have to add more tahini/oil/lemon/salt/herbs based on your preference if you’d like. Everyone is a bit different.

5.Add the shrimp, add your desired amount of dressing, and mix everything well. I then topped with some sesame seeds. You can also use hemp seeds or anything else you fancy.

Recipe (yields 2-3 servings)⁣
Ingredients:⁣
~ 1 small head cauliflower, wash & cut into florets⁣
~ 1 small green bell pepper, cubed⁣
~ 1/2 small red onion, cubed & 2 cloves garlic - sliced⁣
~ 1/4 cup dry roasted cashews⁣
~ 4 dried Thai chilis/red chilis⁣
~ oil for frying and cooking⁣

🍃Batter ingredients: Mix 3/4 cup all-purpose flour (use almond flour for Paleo), 1/4 teaspoon salt, a few shakes of white pepper in a bowl with 1 cup of cold water until well combined. The batter should be on the thicker side.
✔️Dip cauliflower florets in batter, shake off excess & fry until golden brown. (I used a small saucepan) Drain excess oil on a paper towel. (Bake version: grease a baking sheet pan with oil, place battered cauliflower florets on the pan. Bake at 485F until light golden brown for about 20-25 mins, be sure to flip halfway & brush a florets with oil, if needed. For the last few minutes, you may broil to get a crispier texture)

🍃Sauce ingredients: Mix together 1/2 tablespoon dark soy sauce, 1/2 tablespoon sugar, 2 tablespoons soy sauce & 1 tablespoon Chinese cooking wine/sherry in a bowl & set aside.⁣ (use coconut aminos & honey as substitute for soy sauce & sugar) ⁣
✔️In a heated nonstick pan with 1 teaspoon oil, sauté onion, garlic, bell pepper, dried chilis until fragrant. Add sauce and cook mixture for 10-15 seconds. Then, add cauliflower florets, cashews, and coat cauliflower well with the sauce. ⁣
