Aside from being a wonderful addition to bakes and breakfasts, what is the deal with oats?
.
🌾Oats are high in a specific soluble fermentable fibre called beta-glucan
🦠Beta-glucan acts as a substrate for our gut microbiota in the large intestine to produce short-chain fatty acids (which play a key role in our immune & gut function)
🧪They help form viscous solutions in our intestine (basically, they bulk up our stool which is a very important thing!). This bulking also means the transit time of food is slowed down as it moves though our gut, in turn increasing nutrient absorption
.
💊The FDA have actually supported the health claim labelling of oat beta-glucans on the basis of their blood cholesterol lowering properties.
❤️Increased intake of this dietary fibre has been linked to reduced levels of blood cholesterol and triglyceride markers, indicative of a beneficial effect in the reduction of cardiovascular disease risk.

🌾However, we do need to be aiming to consume 3g of beta-glucans a day either from oats or barely to see these benefits (and just a little reminder that we need to be aiming for >30g of fibre in total in our daily diet!).

🍪COCONUT, CHIA & CASHEW OAT BISCUITS
.
👩🏼‍🍳YOU WILL NEED: * 1/2 cup butter
* 1/3 cup brown sugar
* 1 cup oats blended into a flour
* 1 tsp baking powder
* 1 cup jumbo oats
* 2 tsp chia seeds
* 1 tsp cashew butter
* 1/2 cup coconut chips coarsely blended
* 2-4 tbsp oat milk
.
👩🏼‍🍳METHOD:

1. In a saucepan, melt together the butter and sugar 
2. Take off the heat before mixing in the dry ingredients
3. Mix in oat milk 
4. Roll into balls and flatten with the back of a fork
5. Bake at 180oC for 10-12 minutes until the edges have slightly browned

A receita:
🔸1 banana
🔸40g de farinha de aveia de morango da @zumub.pt 🔸30g de 100% whey isolate de morango da @zumub.pt 🔸3g de psyllium 🔸~ 250ml de água. 
Por tudo na liquidificadora e depois microondas durante prai 3 min. Parar a meio do tempo para não sair da taça
Os toppings são framboesa e manteiga de amendoim  crunchy da @myproteinpt .
Uma ótima quinta 😉

A farinha e a whey podem encontra lá na @zumub.pt e com o cupão AMENDES tem 10% de desconto 👌🏼

🔸40g de farine d’avoine à la fraise de @zumub.fr 🔸30g de 100% whey isolate à la fraise de @zumub.fr
🔸3g de psyllium 🔸~ 250ml d’eau. 
Mélanger tout et metre au micro ondes pendant 3 min. Interrompre la cuisson pour que ça n’explose dans le micro ondes 
Les toppings ce sont des framboises et du pennut butter crunchy de @myproteinfr .
Bonne journée 👌🏼

1/2 filxhan sheqer (i bardhë)
1/2 filxhan sheqer kaf

1 vezë
1/2 lugë çaji ekstrakt vaniljeje
1 e 1/4 gota miell
2/3 lugë çaji sodë buke
1/4 lugë çaji kripë
15 çokollatë (në miniaturë të mbuluara nga filxhanë me gjalpë kikiriku, të ç’mbështjella)

Përgatitja:

Nxehim paraprakisht furrën në 350 gradë. Në një tas mesatar përziejmë në një masë kremoze gjalpin, sheqerin e bardhë, sheqerin kaf dhe gjalpin e kikirikut.

I përziejmë bashkë edhe vezën dhe vaniljen. Sitim së bashku miellin, sodën e pjekjes dhe kripën dhe i trazojmë në përzierjen kremoze.

Përzierjen e hedhim me lugë gjelle në gotat për kek.

Kupat duhet të jenë rreth 1/4 të mbushura. I pjekim për 8 deri në 10 minuta, derisa të marrin një ngjyrë kafe të lehtë. E heqim nga nga furra dhe menjëherë shtypim një filxhan gjalpë kikiriku në qendër të çdo biskote.

I lemë biskotat të ftohen plotësisht para se t’i heqim nga tigani.

✖️1.5 cups of almond (or coconut) milk
✖️2 cups of roasted pumpkin, cubed (I used leftovers from dinner the night before)
✖️1 free range egg
✖️2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
✖️2 cups of organic self-raising flour
✖️2 teaspoons baking powder (for added fluffiness)
✖️1-2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
✖️1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix/purée all the liquid ingredients in a blender and then slow add to all the dry ingredients
.
If the batter is too thick for your liking, add a little more almond milk to thin it out. Heat your skillet and add coconut oil before adding your batter. Feeling cheeky? Add a few choc chips to one side of the pancake before flipping
.
Cook 2-3 mins a side, depending on the thickness of ya’ cakes
.
I served them with coconut yogurt from @nakulaorganic and a sprinkle of cinnamon. If your feeling super decadent, a drizzle of honey or pure Canadian maple syrup doesn’t hurt either 🤤

The last two days I had cake for breakfast🍰
Just kidding (not that there was anything wrong with that) but it still reminded me of a peanut berry cake😋
It was actually a smoothie base out of half a very big zucchini and 50g of a "peanut bowl" powder mix🥜, topped with 200g thawed mixed berries🍓, 250g soy yoghurt🥄 and 200g blueberries, and of course lots of cinnamon😊
Enjoy your day!🧡

Në një tas bashkoni biskotat e grira imët, qumështin e kondesuar, arrat e kokosit pluhur dhe gjalpin e shkrirë. Këtë masë rregullojeni në një formë dhe vendoseni në frigorifer, në pjesën e ngrirjes për gati gjysmë ore.

Mornings done right with a cup of @coffee_supreme ☕️ and @dailybreadnz 🥐 croissant.

Croissant is a must order here. They’re flaky, light and you don’t feel like you ate a ton of butter after. Definitely one my favourites in Auckland.

However, I did see a fly in the cabinet when I left which made me a bit hesitate ☹️ hopefully, it was just a one off.

Heute mal früher was von mir zu hören.... mit meiner Lieblingsmahlzeit......
Dem #Frühstück 
Ich liebe es in.der Türkei.  Da kann ich mich nie entscheiden, ob die selbstgemachte Marmelade essen soll oder lieber herzhaft mit sucuk vom Metzger, Käse, Tomate und Paprika, Oliven. 
Naja heute war es herzhaft, 
Ich bin auch gerade wieder vom Zahnarzt raus, weil die Maße genommen worden sind für die Zähne. 
Die Implantatstifte wurden letztes Jahr eingesetzt. Vorgestern wurden sie hervorgeholt und heute wurden die Maße genommen. 
Ich werde kommende Woche angerufen und dann bin ich fertig. 
Ich dackel  jetzt bei der morgendlichen Hitze nach Hause.  Wir müssen noch zum  Pazar. Obst und Gemüse einkaufen.

Happy Wednesday! Nothing better to kick-start the day than these LOADED AVO MASH TOASTIES topped with soft-boiled eggs 🍳🥑🍋🍞 real food fuel & plenty of times breakfast, brunch or lunch for this girl !🙋🏻‍♀️ #vegetarianfood #avocadolove .
Over three years ago, I started this blog to share smoothie recipes + easy breakfast ideas. More often than not- there was toast on display as I was re-teaching myself to 👉🏼 1) eat breakfast 2) to make it count. I purged my pantry of all items that read: low-fat, low-calorie, artificially flavored, sugar-free (often loaded w/ artificial substitutes) etc etc. It was FREEING to see all the processed foods go; and I was shocked at how heavily I relied on them. 🤷🏻‍♀️😳
.
I started working with my body to fuel it properly, and it started working with me. I started loving on it and it started loving back on me. I had energy, was less lethargic, stopped calorie-counting, and ate until I was satisfied. No more scales and obsessing ⚖️❌ but somehow my body transformed with a complete diet overhaul- not a diet. Diets never worked.

This body just recently carried our third baby and despite the fact I’m running around ALL day after three small kiddos- I feel more alive and energized than I did 10 years ago.💪🏻So this is my little token of appreciation to said body for all it has done for me- and hoping I can encourage some of you to do the same. Just eat real food.💚✌🏼

Over three years ago, I started this blog to share smoothie recipes + easy breakfast ideas. More often than not- there was toast on display as I was re-teaching myself to 👉🏼 1) eat breakfast 2) to make it count. I purged my pantry of all items that read: low-fat, low-calorie, artificially flavored, sugar-free (often loaded w/ artificial substitutes) etc etc. It was FREEING to see all the processed foods go; and I was shocked at how heavily I relied on them. 🤷🏻‍♀️😳

I started working with my body to fuel it properly, and it started working with me. I started loving on it and it started loving back on me. I had energy, was less lethargic, stopped calorie-counting, and ate until I was satisfied. No more scales and obsessing ⚖️❌ but somehow my body transformed with a complete diet overhaul- not a diet. Diets never worked.

This body just recently carried our third baby and despite the fact I’m running around ALL day after three small kiddos- I feel more alive and energized than I did 10 years ago.💪🏻So this is my little token of appreciation to said body for all it has done for me- and hoping I can encourage some of you to do the same. Just eat real food.💚✌🏼

I haven’t made my spinach basil hemp seed sauce in a long time & forgot how good it is especially in the summer😎 all ya need are a couple ingredients & all I did was pair it with the @traderjoes brown rice & quinoa pasta, sundried tomatoes & chicken sausage. super easy & so good! I shared more in my stories & the full recipe for the sauce is linked in my bio☀️ hope you’ve had a great wednesday💃🏻

SUN DRIED TOMATO CREAMED MUSHROOMS! 💛 by @alexafuelednaturally

Recipe: 1/2 cup raw cashews
2 cups filtered water
16 ounces cremini mushrooms
1 tbsp avocado oil 
1 tbsp vegan butter 
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
2 tbsp tomato paste
5-7 sundried tomatoes, sliced
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Pepper

To serve:
Brown or white rice
Cilantro or fresh herbs 
Directions:

1. To a large pan over medium heat add 1 tbsp avocado oil or oil of choice. Add mushrooms and sauté for 5 minutes, season with salt and pepper.... then add 1 tbsp vegan butter and sauté for an additional 5 minutes.
2. In a blender combine raw cashews (no you don’t have to soak cashews ) and filtered water. Blend on high until smooth and creamy. Takes 1-2 minutes.
3. Pour the cashew milk over mushrooms, then add nutritional yeast, garlic powder, tomato paste, chopped sun dried tomatoes, stir to combine and lower heat & let simmer until the sauce slightly thickens. Simmer for 3 minutes, taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Adding salt and pepper to your liking.
4. Serve with rice, top with fresh herbs.

Lunch today was so bomb, you guys. I made a mini batch of my cauliflower alfredo sauce but blended in some @hungryroot superfood tomato sauce, and mixed it all together with @veggiecraftfarms spaghetti. Full details below. Bone apple tea! #HungryBlonde #ProfessionalBlonde

* 1 cup riced cauliflower, seasoned with salt and pepper, cooked stovetop in ghee or oil
* Transfer to food processor or blender (I use a Magic Bullet), add 1/3 cup of the tomato sauce & sprinkle of garlic powder
* Add water or vegetable stock at little bit at a time and blend until reaches a creamy consistency
* Toss with your favorite pasta! Would be great with some added vegetables, topped with cheese, etc.

Long time no see fellas! I crushed a big track workout today and now I am refueling with ALL THE GOODS. This meal rly hit the spot and I want another bowl pls. I guess it’ll have to wait until tomorrow :,( Bowl deets-> sautéed 96/4 beef and kale🌱, 1 lil air fried sweet potato🍠 and 1/2 an avo🥑! Simple, quick and delish! #onecrazedfoodie #sweetpotato #avocado
