It's berry season!  Take advantage of local berries while in season.  Always choose organic when you can.  Try foraging for wild raspberries they usually grow close to the outside of wooded areas.  Raspberries and strawberries are high in antioxidants, contain vitamin C, manganese and fiber.  Berries tend to be low in calories and lower glycemic.

Strawberries reduce inflammation, balance blood sugar, and are good for heart health.

Raspberries increase the "feel full" hormone leptin, reduce inflammation, and are good for heart health.

Berries are nutritional powerhouses and they taste pretty darn good too!

En verano, hay que prestar más atención al cuidado de los pies. Las botas de invierno son sustituidas por las sandalias o chanclas y los pies pasan a estar más expuestos a factores externos como el sol o la arena.

The last few weeks have been crazy busy 💥 - but with all fun things so no complaints! 🤗 Glastonbury 🎪 was the best 5 days ever ✨ (still not over it!) and I’m soon going to be moving flats and moving in with my boyfriend 🥰💖 With this comes a whole lot of life-min 📚 – all made better by being sat out in the sunshine, with my yummy Philadelphia Light & Tasty Snack 😛. So, while I’m looking at flats 🏠, using it as an excuse to do a clear out 😱, making a Pinterest board with my dream interiors 💭, catching up on emails and starting to plan my next adventure ✈, I’m happy feeling cheesy 🧀 and knowing this will keep my tummy from grumbling till lunch (🙏). #Only103calories too!

We’re now well and truly into the winter season. Temperatures have dropped, the days are shorter and suddenly salad doesn’t seem like such an appealing lunch option. If you’re feeling a bit run-down in this chilly weather, homemade soups are a great (and yummy!) way to boost your immune system and get your daily dose of fruit and veg. This “immune boosting green soup” tastes delicious and is full of nutrient rich ingredients to help get you through the cold and flu season without so much as a sniffle.

Ingredients:
2 cloves of garlic
1 chopped onion
1 chopped leek 
1/2 cup frozen peas
2 cm piece of fresh ginger
1/2 head of broccoli, chopped
3 handfuls of fresh kale or spinach
1 400ml can coconut milk
3 cups water or vegetable stock
1/4 tsp cayenne powder
1 tsp sea salt
Ground black pepper to taste
4 tbsp nutritional yeast
The juice of half a lemon

Method:
1. Place all the ingredients in a saucepan, except the nutritional yeast and the lemon juice.

We’re now well and truly into the winter season. Temperatures have dropped, the days are shorter and suddenly salad doesn’t seem like such an appealing lunch option. If you’re feeling a bit run-down in this chilly weather, homemade soups are a great (and yummy!) way to boost your immune system and get your daily dose of fruit and veg. This “immune boosting green soup” tastes delicious and is full of nutrient rich ingredients to help get you through the cold and flu season without so much as a sniffle.

Ingredients:
2 cloves of garlic
1 chopped onion
1 chopped leek
1/2 cup frozen peas
2 cm piece of fresh ginger
1/2 head of broccoli, chopped
3 handfuls of fresh kale or spinach
1 400ml can coconut milk
3 cups water or vegetable stock
1/4 tsp cayenne powder
1 tsp sea salt
Ground black pepper to taste
4 tbsp nutritional yeast
The juice of half a lemon

I guess the cat's pretty much out of the bag, but we're moving to my home state next month!
Here we come WA 🏔️ The last two years in Lawrence have been perfectly crazy. Never thought I could find so many people to love in two years! (Or that I could survive in the Midwest 😉) Brody's excited about his new job & I'm graduating this fall, for the first time in the last 5 years we will have the chance to put down roots and get a bit more settled (also never thought I would be excited about that but here we are 🤣) Sometimes new beginning's come right when you need them to! ☀️

Do you use a scale?

I'm curious, do you use a scale regularly?  I know some people who step on it every morning, some that hop on once a week, and I even see a lot of people who don't even own a scale. 
There are no right or wrong answers to this, but I'm curious what your stance is on it.  Personally, I weigh a couple of times a month, just as an accountability tool. I lived for years "living and dying" by the scale and I am freed from that - thankfully.

No matter what your answer is, there's one VERY important thing to remember.  The number that stares back at you does not define you.  It is not the end all be all measure of your health. You are worth so much, you are worthy of love and respect, and you are valuable. 
You don't need a scale to measure your health journey -- sometimes, ditching it entirely and letting intuition take over can take you in a direction you'll love. I've even seen the stubborn weight drop off after ditching the scale because the stress levels were lowered and the body reacted well to that, releasing the weight it was holding. It's so interesting how our bodies work, isn't it?

I want to address a misconception about chiropractic.  One of the things I hear is that if you go to the chiropractor once, then you have to keep going back.

The idea is that somehow the chiropractic treatment makes the body dependent on it and requires more and more treatment.

Let me lay out 3 points to address this concern.

I want to address a misconception about chiropractic. One of the things I hear is that if you go to the chiropractor once, then you have to keep going back.

The idea is that somehow the chiropractic treatment makes the body dependent on it and requires more and more treatment.

Let me lay out 3 points to address this concern.

4 months ago, I decided to WORK ON ME, FOR ME!!! I had my days where I felt like giving up and that’s normal, but at the end of the day I realized that I have to keep going no matter my circumstances. Fast forward to today, I feel 10x better than I did months ago, I have more energy, my mindset has grown, and my body. ✨
My advice to you is to put yourself first and start your journey towards a healthier lifestyle because in the end it’s worth it! Get on a nutrition plan, workout and develop your mind each and everyday💚

RECIPE👉🏼 ROLOS oozing with DATE CARAMEL 😍⁣⠀
These are the most divine sweet treat, make sure you click SAVE so you can make them later!!! 🍭⁣⠀
⁣⠀
INGREDIENTS:⁣⠀
* 1/3 cup (60g) dark chocolate⁣⠀
* 1/4 cup (55g) pitted dates (soaked in hot water for 15-30 mins to soften - keep 3 tbsp of this water to use)⁣⠀
* 1/2 tsp vanilla extract⁣⠀
* 1/4 tsp sea salt⁣⠀
* Chocolate moulds⁣⠀
⁣⠀
METHOD:⁣⠀
1. Melt the chocolate on a low heat (stove or microwave works).⁣⠀
2. Add 1 tbsp melted to chocolate to each mould until almost half the chocolate has been used. Place in the freezer for 10 mins to set.⁣⠀
3. In a food processor, blend all ingredients (except chocolate) until a very smooth paste forms. Keeping scraping down the sides until it is all completely blended.⁣⠀
4. Remove chocolates from the freezer and add 1 tsp of date caramel into the centre of each mould.⁣⠀
5. Spoon all remaining melted chocolate over the caramel and return to the freezer to set for at least 1 hour. Then store in the fridge for 1 week or freezer for 1 month, removing from fridge/freezer 10 mins before eating 💜⁣⠀

Grilled halloumi 🧀, toasted wholemeal pitta with olive oil 🍞, avocado with chilli flakes 🥑, olives, roasted pepper, tomato and cucumber salad 🥒 🍅, and a sprinkle of parsley 😊 = a pretty damn good brunch bowl 🥗🥗

I’ve been in such a good place recently and it feels SO GOOD! 🤗 I have this zest for life and a hop in my step that hasn’t been there in a while! I wake up each day ready for my feet to hit the ground so I can keep crushing my goals and it feels so refreshing 🙏🏻
I know the good days won’t last forever because that’s life so in the meantime I’m trying to really live in the moment and feel all the feels! 🤗 When the good days are good, soak it in and don’t take a second for granted! ❤️
