Each week I’ve been going to the gym to do weights, cardio and also swimming but the past 2 weeks I’ve gone to yoga as well🧘🏽‍♀️ I absolutely loved it and I’ll be going back every week! It’s on a Friday so it’s a good way to relax at the end of the week. There’s so many classes at the new gym I’m going to so I can’t wait to try them all out. Good Morning and happy Monday! ☀️ I apologize that I haven't been on the 'Gram lately, summertime has definitely kept me on toes! 
On Saturday, I did my usual visit to the gym and afterward, this crazy person tackled the lawn in two hours on a steamy summer morning (heat index of 100+ degrees)! 😲☀️☀️🔥 I'll admit, I was getting hot out there but I did take a few mini breaks to keep myself hydrated and reapplying sunscreen. 😎😅 I went to a rockin' going away party 🎉 and soaked my feet in the pool.. felt very soothing! 💦

Noooooo!
Well that had to be the worst gym session. Well, calorie-wise it was actually quite good. But energy-wise it was horrible. And here’s why...
.
1️⃣. Back to work today. I didn’t realize how much energy you actually use during the day, and how much of a difference being tired can make you at the gym!
.
2️⃣. I ate 700 calories worth of chocolate while sitting in meetings all day! 700 CALORIES! 😭😭 I just couldn’t stop. And this was after I’d had breakfast and morning tea. What is wrong with me! This made me feel so bloated and lethargic at the gym, I wanted to give up so badly after 10 minutes!

3️⃣. I just had 2 rest days in a row. How did I feel about that yesterday? Amazing. How did I feel today? Like I’d been away from the gym for 6 months. I could hardly lift anything, and had no energy.
.
I feel like all of things by themselves would have been fine, but put together it made for a horrible feeling at the gym. I pushed through, even managed to do HIIT (and y’all know how much I HATE HIIT!) but it took a lot of self motivation.
.
What will I do differently this week? Well, next week I’m away for two days, so I’m planning on doing Monday’s workout on Sunday, therefore only giving me this Wednesday to rest. So I think I’ll still workout Wednesday, then rest Sunday. I’m also banning myself from eating chocolate almonds and mint slice biscuits at work. In this case it WAS NOT WORTH IT. I didn’t realize how many calories they had in them until I logged them afterwards. So no dessert for me tonight! Peace out.

Today's pull workout was AWESOME!! 🙌🙌😜💪 Surprisingly, I felt strong compared to last week. I think I'm getting used to being in a deficit again, plus a much needed good nights sleep last night and maybe the creatine is starting to take effect?! Either way, I'm chuffed! I deadlifted 80kg for the first time today too and I have noticed my resting heart rate is coming down nicely recently. I'm really trying to work on my non existent peach 🍑 at the moment too. We've all gotta start somewhere 😊 My goal right now is to lose a little more fat and then ongoing to build strength and fitness and to just feel good, enjoying my workouts and feel healthy inside and out. 
I finished my session with some explosive burpees, just because I felt good and had the energy yassss!! 😁😁😁 I'm going to start introducing a little cardio/ hiit at the end of workouts if time permits and want to try and get one run in a week as well as my strength training sessions.

The photos on top were taken roughly 5-6 months in to my fitness journey, after I'd already lost about 7kgs. In July 2018, I gave myself 24 months (2 years) to change my lifestyle and reach my fitness goals.

I'm officially 12 months in at this point, over 22 kilos down (a lot of muscle gained), over 20cms lost (from my bust, waist and hips), AND I'm only halfway! Remember, losing weight should be a health journey that is celebrated, continous and considerate.

Be kind to yourself. You can tell from my face in both photos that I am just as proud today as I was back then ❤❤❤

I get asked all the time how to “tone muscles without getting bulky” 
Well guys, toning DOESN'T exist ✖️🙃. In medical terms-muscle tone refers to the low level of tension maintained by the nervous system in all muscles even at rest. If you are poking a certain body area that even when you flex it, it’s soft/squishy, you are poking fat not untoned muscle

You have two options to make your muscles stand out & look more defined 
1) You can make it bigger or 
2) you can shrink the fat covering them

Reducing fat is a WHOLE BODY problem, there is nothing called spot reduction✖️✖️✖️. If your goal is to see your muscles, then your goal isn't toning, it's losing body fat

There are 3 KEY elements for that 
1) cardio 
2) weight lifting 
3) caloric deficit

Also keep in mind that it takes a crazy amount of hard work to "bulk" up, women don't even have enough testosterone to build HUGE muscles so don't be afraid to lift😄

Rehabbing the old hamstring is a tough one. I’m constantly adjusting what I’m doing as some things work for a bit and then seem to aggravate things.

I think I have a good idea of what to do and am going to be incorporating some running in now.

This injury is like nothing I’ve had before. It is a tempestuous bitch and requires very careful looking after. But I’m feeling positive and who needs to *actually* train for a marathon eh 😂😂
