people in the gym; a lot of people deal with being self conscious in the gym, or having anxiety being in the gym, having the fear of doing something wrong or not having the perfect form in front of a bunch of people. nobody is looking, and if they are, we are all here for the same reason—to take care of OURSELVES. i used to be so uncomfortable in the gym, my mom was a PT for 12 years so i was in the gym since i was a little kid, and would work out with her after her shifts, so i got comfortable with the environment. • Prime example that when you stop doing the little things your body can’t perform the way you want it to.

I’ll be honest, I have been doing everything wrong when it comes to taking care of my body. My warm ups have been short. I have not been taking the time to fully get my body ready mentally and physically for my workouts. I feel as if I have to rush through it and my workout because I have other things on my mind.

I have no set plan. This entire summer I have been winging it. Whatever I am feeling I’ll just do. I have not taken the time to set some goals and create a plan to achieve them.
-
My consistency is no where to be found. In a perfect world I would like to work out a minimum of 5 days a week. I enjoy that schedule and even mixing in a 6th day if I can. I enjoy working out and I want to do something everyday.

My sleep schedule has been terrible. I stay up late and wake up early. Burning the candle at both ends gets you no where. Sleep is more important than the training and I have not made it a priority.

My stress is high and my mental capacity is low. I feel like this has a lot to do with my sleep. It’s been hard to focus when I am in the gym and it throws off my game.

You can’t expect your body to do the things you want it to do unless you take care of it. This video right here is a perfect example of that. I got away from taking care of myself and doing the things that make me perform at my best. It’s the reason I missed this lift. A lift that I should have no problem in making.

Performance needs to be looked at holistically. Working hard in the gym is only a sliver of the pie that helps you perform at your highest level. You need to be on top of everything in order to be at your best.

Tonight’s workout was a huge eye opener for me. I preach the importance of living in the process and I have not been living up to what I say. To be honest it pisses me off more than anything, because I know there are no excuses, it’s just laziness.

If you train for performance, make sure you are taking care of the little things. Make sure your body is at its best, get enough sleep, work on your mindset everyday, and create a plan to reach your goals.

I have been working on building this arm continuously and CONSISTENTLY since the moment I could after my accident. Unfortunately when my hand ripped off so did all my forearm/bicep muscles 👋🏼 -
-Now FIVE YEARS later my arms are finally nearly equal in size and muscle. Never will I be able to lift the same on my left (my arm could litterely snap - no thank you, I need what I have left 🤙🏼) but building muscle is a PROCESS and it takes CONSISTENCY no matter how long it takes you to get the results you want. I could’ve given up after year 2 when it was still just a noodle but instead I stayed consistent and kept training and finally every workout has paid off along the way and it’s the best feeling ever to see muscle coming back in and growing and strengthening over TIME. -

So friends - KEEP CONSISTENT, KEEP PUSHING, KEEP BELIEVING, KEEP TRAINING, YOU GOT THIS, RESULTS TAKE TIME BUT YOU ARE MORE THEN STRONG ENOUGH TO KEEP GOING 💪🏼💪🏼

🌸 5 ways to make your workouts more effective 🌸⁣

1. Take minimal rest periods between exercises.. if you’re not gasping for breath or feel like there’s no possible way you could do another rep, KEEP PUSHING! 😅remember your mind quits way before your body does ⁣

2. Add in bursts of high intensity movements like burpees, high knees or tuck jumps between sets, you’ll burn more calories and build endurance 🤸‍♀️⁣

3. Lose the distractions!! Find an environment where you can focus on just you for an hour. For me this is just in my living room at home & despite my family usually being around, they learned reallll quick to leave me the f alone when I’m working out 😂 ⁣

4. CLEAN UP YOUR DIET! 🍎 this is so so important when it comes to having the energy to kill a workout.. if I eat like crap the day before chances are it’s going to be reflected in my workout the next day ⁣

5. Have a plan & get excited about it!! I always plan my workouts in advance so I don’t have to do any thinking in the moment & I try to incorporate exercises that I enjoy 🤩⁣

Eigentlich ist das Bild nur zum Spaß entstanden. Bilder gemacht und mal ein bisschen gepost. Fand das Bild auf den ersten Blick gut, die Schulter sieht stabil aus. Dann doch Zweifel..
Der Arm sieht zu schmal aus, Rücken und Arme sind nicht definiert genug, zu blöd, dass das Fett eben genau da sitzt. Der Blick komisch, die Haare zerzaust.
Und dann wurde mir etwas klar.
Ich war verunsichert wegen einer einzelnen Person, von der ich weiß, dass sie sich das Bild ansieht und über mich urteilt, weil ich ihrer Meinung nach nicht gut genug bin.
Eine. Einzelne. Person.
Dabei bedeutet sie mir nichtmal viel.
Aber es ist mein Weg, es sind meine Entscheidungen, es ist mein Körper und es sind meine Ziele. 
Lasst euch von niemandem aus der Bahn bringen, es ist euer Leben. People are going to judge you no matter what🐝✨
