Having an absolutely wonderful spa break ❤️. Slept so well last night for the first time in ages... eating lots of delicious food, relaxing, training and enjoying the gorgeous surroundings. Im awaiting a back massage as I post this!

This is one of my favorite back lifts. The main focus is to feel that squeeze between your shoulder blades and isolate your back so that your biceps and traps don’t take over! Managed to do 5 sets of 5 reps at 160 pounds today! Every time you improve on a workout and you are focused on gaining strength add weights, sets, or reps. Wether that be 5 pounds, 2.5 pounds, or even just adding one rep to each set the next time you do that lift. I ate small meals throughout the day of mostly protein and veggies, fearful that eating carbs would make me gain weight.⁣⁣

Needless to say, despite all my hard work and dedication, I didn’t look much different. Talk about frustrating.⁣⁣

It wasn’t until years later when I finally learned the best ways to build muscle that I began to finally look like I lifted.⁣⁣

While there’s nothing wrong with wanting to achieve a leaner body composition, you can’t be in a perpetual state of fat loss. Your hormones will suffer, you’ll be mentally miserable, and if you aren’t strength training regularly, you might actually end up looking worse (hello, skinny fat).⁣⁣

I’ve talked to so many women who are fearful of gaining muscle, believing it will make them look bulky or masculine. But in most cases, that couldn’t be further from the truth.⁣⁣

And when you do decide to purse fat loss again, you will look lean and toned.⁣⁣

I will say this. Building muscle is no walk in the park. It requires hard work, consistency, and intensity. But the results are absolutely worth it!⁣⁣
