We all have different values, which is why it’s incredibly important to be thoughtful on whose advice you seek out. If you are seeking out advice from people who have different values than you, you likely will get advice that is not the advice you truly need.
Have I learned this the hard way sometimes 🙄🙄🙄 but I recognize now that if my values are clear, my decisions and choosing the people I seek out for help will also be clearer.

Working with Billy and Anthony on the four spot shooting and two free throws drill. Here we have two guys who get after it in the weight room and on the basketball court. Making two free throws in the end without hitting the rim proved to be the hardest part of this drill. It was a pleasure watching these two push each other in the spirit of competition. On the other hand, observing them allowed me the opportunity to provide some guidance on refining their shooting techniques and mechanics.

This is an exercise I sent to a client who wanted to improve his golf swing the other day. Lately especially around the “gram” I’ve seen a lot of talk about how hip Internal rotation is needed for basically any athletic movement and I couldn’t agree with this more. First you need the mobility or “hardware” so to speak to internally rotate your hip. And if you don’t have it you will compensate and get it from somewhere else (lumbar spine). This not only puts wear and tear on your low back but it is a leak of energy and makes your swing less efficient.

Once you have developed range of motion you need to control of that range of motion. I don’t think hip internal rotation by itself is the name of the game. I think hip rotation is about how efficiently you can transfer from hip external rotation to hip internal rotation. When we’re talking about a swing who cares about how much active internal rotation you have if you can’t display power while shifting from hip ER to hip IR via the stretch shortening cycle. For that I would highly recommend hip axial rotations from a variety of positions from @functionalrangeconditioning. The majority of these will be open chain movements. To make it more specific to the swing I like this as a closed chain option. Hip airplanes would also do the trick. From here the next progression would be with thoracic rotation and then eventually medball side throws. I think these also work great as prep work prior to side, scoop or shot-put throws. This movement will have carry over to any swinging movement.

Recent studies have undoubtedly shown that the human brain is far more malleable than previously thought.
Along with that finding, they realized that everyone either has a fixed mindset or a growth mindset. A fixed mindset that simply means that you don’t believe your base knowledge can grow. Likewise, a growth mindset essentially means the opposite. Those with growth mindsets believe that you can change your base knowledge by opening your mind to possibilities.
You. Can. Change. There is literally no downside to adapting a growth mindset.
Which do you have? There are a lot of online quizzes to help you determine which you have. My personal favorite is located on the London Academy of IT website. •

Just a quick reminder:
Your mental health is the most important type of health. It doesn’t matter how great your physical health is if you’re head isn’t in the game.
If you have a physical goal for yourself, I would highly suggest setting a mental goal for yourself as well.
Take those measures to step up that brain game!! Get better everyday. .

🚿Cold Showers: Your brain will tell you that it is stupidity to go into an ice cold shower. Can you defy this instinct and reap the rewards of cold showers?

🖼Morning rituals requires great discipline. Most people feel strong resistance to get out of bed in the morning. If you can stick to a morning ritual with good habits I can assure you that you will feel satisfaction.

🍔Don't eat junk food. SImple, but hard. Can you resist the temptation of eating something sugary when you feel the urge. Doing so will not only improve your health, but also your self-discipline.

🗣Most people feel very uncomfortable interacting with strangers. Start to greet strangers you come across. This will hopefully give you some pleasant interactions, but also a great deal of confidence.

🍆Can you avoid masturbating for one month? Maybe even longer. Our sexual needs are probably the strongest in human nature. If you can learn to discipline yourself to abstain from this, you will be a master at using self-discipline and willpower to your advantage.

🤜I honestly don't like to do posts about what not to do. It's much more valuable to know what to do. However, I find these don'ts so common and important to adress that I needed to make a post about it.

🤜The number one sin you can do in soccer is to make excuses. Anyone can find excuses if they just look for them. Stop, looking for excuses on why you can't do things and start to execute. -

🤜There are so many talkers out there. It is easy to be a talker. You can say that you want to become a professional soccer player, but are your actions matching your words? -

🤜Every day, your goal has to be to become better than you were yesterday. Are you taking the steps to improve just a little bit everyday? Never stop improving.

🤜Don't let others opinions affect you. Listen to others advice and use it to your advantage if it has value. Never take anything someone says to you personal. The only one that's in control about how you feel is yourself.

🤜Failure is a part of the process to success. Embrace it. Don't be afraid of taking risks or making mistakes. It's only going to inhibit your ability to play fully.
