🇭🇺Motiváció. Ezen a héten többször is előkerült ez a téma - ami egyébként nem könnyű. Őszintén szólva sokszor nekem is nehéz motiválnom magam a saját nyújtásra és a kényelmetlen pózokba bizony nem szívesen megyek bele. Az edzés maga, mint tudjuk, nem mindig kellemes. 😃 Én azt vallom, hogy a legjobb indikátor mindig az, hogy hogyan érzem magam az óra végén, iletve utána. Ha jól, akkor megéri újra jönni. A legjobb rész pedig mindig az, amikor látok haladásokat, eredményeket... a kényelmetlenséget ekkor már szinte el is felejtem! 😃 Ti hogy vagytok ezzel? 🇬🇧Motivation. This topic has come up several times this week. To be honest, every day is different and sometimes it is hard to motivate myself to stretch too... and I am not very happy to get myself into certain poses. Training (as we all know) is not always comfortable. 😃 I believe that the best indicator is how I feel at the end of the session and afterwards. If well, it is worth to come again. The best part is when I see the progress and some kind of results... TEACHING IS HUMBLING AND EXCITING (на русском ниже)
Teaching is both a very humbling and scary, and also very exciting and rewarding experience.
I think it applies no matter what you teach.
But it just feels all the more intense when it involves hammocks and gravity and stretching.
Because hammocks are exceptionally good for stretching, yet everything has to be thorougly planned, all the steps, all the technique, and then comes a class and it requires so much focus to keep an eye on everyone, to make them understand that they have to be careful, to assess what level they are at and which one is likely to do something reckless.
And it's scary because no matter how hard you try, you cannot account for everything.
And it's rewarding because when people manage to do something challenging, their eyes light up.

Быть учителем страшно и интересно одновременно. Это смиряющее и благодарное занятие, что бы ты ни преподавал.
Но это чувствуется особенно остро, когда речь идёт о гамаках, силе тяжести и растяжке.
Потому что гамаки прекрасно подходят для стречинга, но все должно быть максимально продумано, каждый шаг, каждая техника, а когда начинается собственно класс, нужна такая концентрация, чтобы за всеми уследить, чтобы донести до всех, насколько важно проявлять осторожность, чтобы оценить уровень каждого и понять, кто способен на неожиданные поступки.
И это смиряет и пугает, потому что как бы старательно ты не готовился, все предугадать невозможно.
И это воодушевляет, потому что когда у людей получается сделать что-то сложное, у них загораются глаза.

Вся эта силовая работа - мосты, балансы, отжимания - сильно «забивают» плечи, их надо почаще тянуть, что я конечно же не делаю🤦🏼‍♀️ поэтому сегодня они у меня скрипели и болели, как ржавое колесо 🤪 в общем если у вас так же, то в карусели упражнения для замученных плеч 🤣
А первым видео поставила подход-попытку на #капотасана , будет мне для сравнения в будущей работе над ней и прогибами..

Before every class I do this stretch. I use two 10lbs leg weights on each leg + plus the help of gravity for 1-2 mins. It’s a killer stretch but it helps in the long run.

Oscar Gonzalez taught class tonight, the Berimbolo was the technique. Oscar has been helping me with it for a few weeks and I been drilling it a bit with Greg, so I was able to help out. There is always the debate whether the Berimbolo is still effective or not. Some people don’t even try it, the excuse being you would not use it in a street fight. My opinion is that it’s another arsenal and it’s super fun. Like any other technique, if you are good at it, it will work. Personally I am a fan.

2. Straddle HS with slide pike⁣.
3. Keep weight mostly in the middle of the handstand. DO NOT shift the weight over to one hand.⁣
4. Shoulders elevated as comfortably/much as possible⁣.
5. Tilt one side of pelvis towards the shoulder on the same side whilst keeping legs straight⁣.
(DO NOT rotate your spine and purely side bend. This is the hardest thing to do while maintaining balance for beginners, like myself, in the one arm pursuit)⁣

BALANCE DRILL TUTORIAL!!! 🤸🏻‍♀️💖🤸🏻‍♀️ This is one of my go-to drills for training balance, stability, and strength for my kicks!! 💪🏻 Watch with the sound on for the tutorial! 😋 .
BONUS TIPS! Try focusing your eyes on one spot in the room for extra stability! Orrrr if it’s too easy, take it up a notch by looking in the direction of each kick! 💥 Also, make sure you’re breathing deeply and steadily, and focus on keeping a strong core while moving through the drill. .
For starters, try doing 3 reps in a row, then try 5, then 10! After kicking quickly gets too easy, just time yourself for one minute and go as sloooowwwwly as possible. 🙌🏻 It’s SO MUCH HARDER!!! 😝 What’s your favorite way to practice balance?? 🤸🏻‍♀️

I’m realizing now that some of the most humble people I meet and work with are generally celebrities and well-known in their fields, and it’s so refreshing to work with people who have no ego but are extremely talented athletes. I feel like I’ve become a more calm and down to earth person just from this short period of working with Marion in 2017, and for that I am extremely grateful 🙏🙏🙏 I hope to have a reunion soon Marion!

Sidekick Sunday!!! 😝🤸🏻‍♀️💖 Today has been a recovery day for me! I definitely gave myself whiplash shooting the action scenes I was in last night... 😁 So it’s been water, rest, light stretching, and bathing in Kwan Loong for me! 😂 (comment if you know what that is! Because it’s HEAVEN) I’ve got some pretty good bumps and bruises from a fight I got into with a shelf, too... 😏 I know, impressive! Haha stunt work is no joke! I’m always so enamored with real stunt artists— they are some of my heroes! (Ehem, @jessiegraffpwr 🙀) Also random: my quads are both cramping up! Obviously, I’m in need of some recovery tips 😅 Who has some for me?? Also, how are you planning to start out the new week?!💕

Today I would like to talk about the way you think about stretching. I hear far too many people say stretching "hurts" or "is painful". While I understand the sentiment, it is important to categorize these feelings differently and try to understand them. Are you feeling discomfort because something is challenging you? Or are you feeling pain that you think may lead to injury? While stretching, it should feel like you're stretching the muscles you're intending to stretch. (Doing a pike? You should feel your hamstrings stretching, etc.) It shouldn't just hurt everywhere🙅🏼‍♀️ But slight discomfort? Productive, yet challenging, sensations? Totally fine!

When I teach, I am constantly checking in with the student about where they feel the stretch/exercise, and how it feels. If the word "hurt" is uttered, I immediately stop and ask them to tell me what it feels like. For the most part, that was just the word that popped into their head at the time, and they just feel a very intense stretch/sensation. At that point I ask them to use different words to describe the sensation (not only for themselves, but also so I know that I’m not doing something that may cause damage). The language used during a stretching session is something that’s really important for students and coaches to be aware of. If you constantly talk about something feeing like torture you’re either exaggerating, or doing something terribly wrong. So when you’re stretching, if something genuinely HURTS, that’s most likely your body telling you something is wrong. Use that time to ask yourself, is it just uncomfortable because the stretch is intense, or is it truly painful? 🤔 And if it’s truly painful, rethink your approach or try a new method!
