When it comes to fat loss and fitness there are many misconceptions out there. These misconceptions often lead to false beliefs and false hopes as people attempt different strategies and different fads to lose weight. you often hear that a certain exercise is going to target specific body fat in specific body parts or that a specific food or meal is going to burn body fat or that a certain supplement is going to be the answer to all your problems when it comes to losing fat. And while all those are extremely attractive and definitely marketable, the truth is that there's no one exercise, one food or one supplement that's going to make you lean and fit. People will market it to make money, but truth is there is no magic potion or solution. I said it once and I'll say it again, getting lean and fit is a lifestyle and you need to develop habits through principles. Principles like strength training each muscle group 2 to 3 times a week, focussing on whole, nutrient-dense foods in a well-balanced manner multiple times throughout the day, getting active throughout the day, and sleeping properly every single night are what you need to do to get the results you want. Habits like waking up at a decent time, getting your workout in when it fits your schedule, going to bed early, meal prepping, among others make being fit and lean super easy as they just become part of your routine after doing it for so long. Well that's less marketable, it is certainly the truth and it will lead to long-term results. Stop looking for one-stop, magic solutions and start adhering to principles. The soooner you do that, the sooner you'll get results.

One of the hardest things to do is trying to lose weight during the holiday season.⁠

The holidays are a non-stop food action for a lot of us. For me (back in the day) Thanksgiving dinner wasn't just a meal--it was a weeklong event of parties and leftovers galore. ⁠

I was the leftover king.⁠

Christmas? Try a three-week sugar bender on everything imaginable. ⁠

We have plenty of excuses not to follow-through on our weight loss journey during the holiday season, but you can stick with it (without feeling deprived). ⁠

⚠️ If your goal is to lose fat, than you need to eat breakfast, right? Wrong. Breakfast is a great meal, if you like to eat it, but it’s not at all necessary for fatloss. That’s a myth.

📝 Fat loss occurs when we’re in a consistent daily caloric deficit. While it is true that certain foods will affect how you feel & will nourish your body more or less...the only thing that will allow your body fat percentage to go down, is a caloric deficit. The best way to do this, is to have a proper fitness & nutrition plan that you can stick with. Here, I’m giving you 3 different meal plan options for breakfast. These are simply examples, and there are many more that can work as well:

Sumándome al reto de agregar vegetales al desayuno de la bella @balanceandolavida les inventé estos brownies

Ustedes se preguntarán, que hay de vegetal en ese brownie?
Ajaaaaa ya verán 🤗

La única recomendación que tengo para hacerles es que corran a prepararlos, les juro que el chocolate sube el animo
Háganme caso

RECETA:
🍫Mezclar en un bowl:
3/4 taza de miel (o cualquier endulzante)
2 huevos
1 barra de chocolate amargo en pedazos chicos (lo partí con la mano)
1 1/2 taza de harina integral o de avena
2 cucharadas soperas de cacao en polvo
1 cdta de polvos de hornear
1 cucharada de canela
1/4 taza de leche
Jugo de 1/2 limón
2 tazas de zanahoria rayada (ahí están!!)
Mezclar hasta que esté homogéneo 🍫 Engrasa el molde que vas a usar, yo lo hice con spray anti adherente y en molde de muffins
Vaciar la mezcla en el molde
Hornear por 25 minutos en 180 grados hasta que si le insertas un palito salga seco
Y listo
IMPACTANTE

Me los comí como postre de viernes
Nada como comer rico

The goal of this particular post is to clarify a scheduling issue that many people tend to have. IF can work whether you wake up at 6 AM, 10 AM or even 8 PM. It’s all about creating your feeding and fasting windows
.
Whenever you wake up, just don’t eat or drink anything with calories for 6 hours. Then you eat or drink all of your calories for the day in the next 8 hours. Then you fast again and sleep until you restart the next day. So this works at any time of the day. Just remember 6-8-10🤔

Try to get your workout in either right before breaking your fast or during the feeding window (8 hours)💪🏼😉

EASY Meal Prep Recipe 🍲
Chicken Burrito bowls = 350 calories😍💪🏼🍲

CHICKEN BURRITO BOWLS
Serves 4-6
.
INGREDIENTS
2-3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
3 bell peppers, any color, sliced
1 large red onion, sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon taco seasoning
Salt and pepper
1 jar salsa
3 cups cooked brown rice, divided
1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 can corn
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 lime, sliced into wedges
Fresh cilantro to garnish
.
PREPARATION
Preheat oven to 400˚F/200˚C.
Line a baking sheet with foil.
Place the chicken, peppers, and onions onto the baking sheet and drizzle with oil.
Sprinkle the taco seasoning evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts.
Salt and pepper the peppers and onions, tossing to coat.
Top each chicken breast with a generous pour of salsa.
Bake in a preheated oven for 25 minutes.
Rest chicken for 10 minutes, before slicing into strips.
Add a base of brown rice to 4 food storage containers. Top each with a scoop of black beans, corn, additional salsa, cheddar cheese, cooked peppers and onions, and sliced chicken. Garnish with fresh cilantro and a lime wedge.
Store in the refrigerator (and enjoy any extras immediately). Can be kept refrigerated for up to 4 days.

Left arm biceps seems to be catching up to my right arm. Now to work on my right traps.
Ever since I broke my right arm my right side trapezius wasted and is having a hard time catching up to my left side. I’ve been isolating the right side more so only time will tell!

But if you haven’t, you maybe think it’s super cool to be shredded all the time - that’s actually not the case. Yes, it looks nice, but as you can see, it comes with so many side effects. Also most of the fitness models here on instagram (which are the role models of a lot of people), don’t maintain this condition all year long, they just post a lot of throwbacks.⁣

Trying to maintain a physique with <8% all year long, is everything besides healthy. That’s also why competitive bodybuilder try to get their weight up relatively fast post competition.⁣

(Serves 1)

Strawberry cream:

MAKE A DECISION FIRST. Don't let your "commitments" cripple you.

After graduation, I started my job as an electronics engineer in a pretty well known consumer electronics company. Needless to say (from pic on left), I got quite comfortable with my situation. After awhile, I started to realise that I was lethargic at work all the time and I couldn't really focus during meetings. This was a combination of excess fat and lack of an active lifestyle.
.
A few months down, I went on a beach holiday. The pic of me on the left was me in phuket. I might be smiling warmly (I think) but deep inside I was questioning myself about how I allowed myself to become like that.
.
Now, there's nothing WRONG about how I looked. What wasn't right was HOW I got to that state.
.
❌ I stopped exercising as often, if at all.
❌ I stopped being mindful about what I ate. I just... Ate.
❌ I only focused on work and enjoyment rather than becoming a better version of myself physically and mentally.
.
The second I saw the picture, my mind flipped a switch. I made a decision then and there.
.
What's important here is this. If I had thought about:
🔴 How I was working 9-6 with my engineering job. 7-10 as a private personal trainer.
🔴 How I was hustling every single second to build my current online coaching business
🔴 How I had to make sure all my online clients received the constant support they needed.
.
... I would never have transformed to the me in the right, 12 weeks later.
.
After I made the decision, I:
🔵 Started waking up at 4 to get in the gym at 5am. (yes the gym is an hour away)
🔵 Systemised my businesses and check ins so I can have more time to myself
🔵 Started planning my workouts and nutrition strategy.
.
And all these resulted in me looking better yes but also FEELING like I could do anything and had the focus to do everything, just 12 weeks later.
.
I hope this helps those of you who aren't starting because you're worried about "commitments". Make the decision. Start now. A few months later you'll think back and thank yourself for it.

Check out this Macro Friendly Cauliflower Waffle topped with @kitehillfoods almond milk cream cheese, avocado, smoked salmon, a poached egg, and some Bagel Seasoning and fresh dill. Happy Sunday! .
You need to make these Cauliflower Waffles! They are made with just riced cauliflower and egg. Recipe below! (Makes 2 waffles) - 1 cup cauliflower rice
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Any other fresh herbs + spices you desire!

Mix together into a bowl. Spray your waffle iron with cooking oil and turn on medium heat. Add the batter to the waffle iron and cook for 5-6 minutes until waffles are golden. Remove with a fork.

When initially starting out, many people are under the impression that going to the gym and working out will be the toughest part of their transformation journey.

But the thing about exercise is…

Eventually, it can be made into a habit & will turn into something you at least “somewhat” look forward to and enjoy.

Now…on the other hand…

The part that most people eventually seem to find more difficult…DIET!

6 TIPS TO IMPROVE YOUR SLEEP by @grantgirsky

Lack of quality sleep can be a huge factor that's holding you back from making progress towards your goals.

Plain and simple, if your sleep variable is totally thrown off, things are going to be more difficult for you.

Neglecting your sleep can have a huge carryover into so many different areas of your life.

Lack of sleep can cause:

▪️Increased Stress
▪️Decreased Recovery
▪️Increased Irritability
▪️Increased Appetite
▪️Increased Fatigue

In an attempt to avoid all of those unappealing, sleep-deprived outcomes…

Here are some simple changes you can work on implementing immediately to help improve your quantity and quality of sleep:

Limit your caffeine intake in the afternoon, and especially in the evening. Ideally, no caffeine after 3pm usually works well for most people.

Turn off technology during the 1-2 hours leading up to bedtime. If this is unrealistic, you can downloading blue light blocker apps that will limit the screen lights that disrupt your natural sleep cycle.

Erratic sleep patters can leave you feeling out of whack…a regular sleep schedule may be just what you need to feel rested and refreshed.

Relaxing before bedtime can help to let your mind wind down and relax. Sometimes a few pages of a book is just the thing you need to put you right to sleep…skip the Netflix!

Sleeping in a cool & dark environment has shown to improve sleep quality. Room darkening curtains and a fan or cool A/c can make a bigger impact than you might think.

Lastly, creating a pre-bedtime routine can make a world of difference when it comes to successfully winding down & making restful sleep a reality.

Implement these tips consistently and just watch how fast your sleep will improve!

What gives you energy?

If you want to feel energetic all day, you need to find sources of real energy. I say REAL, because what people and ads often sell you is bottled up, ‘artificial’ energy.

All those countless coffees, energy drinks, pills and supplements just give you a short energy spike for a couple of hours or even less, and after the tide goes out, you feel tired again.

Not to say these items on the left side shouldn’t be utilized....they absolutely can be used (and I definitely do 😅). However, you don’t need to rely on them without uncovering the true factors that are draining your energy.

You need to solve a problem at its root, or better say roots, because there are multiple reasons why you feel always tired. Lack of sleep, mindless eating, weak body, chronic stress - all these problems need solutions. When you find the solutions, your energy will come back to you.

The best way to do this, is to have a proper fitness & nutrition plan that you can stick with. Here, I’m giving you 3 different meal plan options for breakfast.
