It’s quicker, easier and cheaper to buy junk food, but do you really want to take the easy way out? Will you be satisfied? Maybe in the short term. But in the long term NO. Your lifestyle is determined by the choices you make and it all starts with what you eat. Now I’m not saying that you can never eat anything ‘unhealthy’ but be smart with your daily choices and try to have a balanced diet. I started posting about food on Instagram to be accountable for my food choices and hopefully by doing that I can make some of you feel motivated and accountable too! ✨✨ #foodforthought

Sweaty betty is back! When you feel the lows, the highs are even better. After being sick and my poor George i hadnt ran for two weeks 😥😭 but I feel so good today - more myself and looking forward to so much. The simple things are so important after shit times. The last week Chris and I are very much enjoying the fruits if our labour 💪🍊 - our house feels and looks great - need to make some time for our before and afters. Less than 4 months till the big day and im hoping to lose a few more kgs especially having a couple spare for when our UK and cananda family is over and well be celebrating for a week prior! Anyway good start back into running with 2.5km running but walked for another 600- 800m home

Having a strong core is not only needed to perform normal daily activities with ease, but it’s essential to have when lifting. Without a strong core you’re more susceptible to experiencing poor posture, injuries & lower back pain!⁣⁣⁣

Make sure you try implementing some core exercises into your workouts either at home or the gym! ⁣⁣⁣

7.21.19 I’m late posting this and I’m NOT sorry. 🤷🏾‍♀️Today was definitely about taking in all moments in real time and breaking from social media!!! Man was it ahhhh-freakin-mazing! I’m thinking this needs to become a new Sunday ritual....🤔🤗🧡 Idk, but i encourage you to do whatever feels good to YOU! Doesnt matter if its rest, Working out , or enjoying a LIGHT marg 👀 just be sure to take it in and enjoy every moment. 💛

Though I say “light and simple,” know that i tore into my whole body and ya better believe I got a good sweat in! Hello fitness friends, I got SMACKED. With strep throat. And I don’t rest well. I started feeling sick with a sore throat Monday evening and I was like oh whatever like I just have a summer cold. I kept pushing along, I wasn’t able to workout all week, I was trying to keep up with light cardio and then Thursday night hit me like a brick fricken wall. I could sleep, I couldn’t swallow, I was achy and feverish and definitely had strep. I called in sick the next day and went to the doctors for some meds. After lots of rest and relaxing and just resetting this weekend I feel a lot better. I went to the gym today and did a super light full body workout and also went for a big walk with the dog down by the lake. 
I’m feeling much better and I’m ready to take on this week and get back into routine.

after a hard 6 day split it’s necessary to let your body recover and heal. but that doesn’t mean sit around eating cheat meals😂we make sure to stay active whether it be a game of basketball with your friends or just staying moving at work⚛️

here’s our current pre workout, and let us to tell you this scoop was hugeee (22g) per serving 😳 gave us a pretty dirty pump in our workout, not the best pre for focus but certainly a killer pump💪🏻 if you have any pre workout suggestions comment them below ⬇️

we also included some resting pics after a killer leg day yesterday. make sure you continue to drink water even on an off-day... this helps maintain a vascular look and healthy lifestyle. 7/21/19

IT WAS ALL FINALLY LINING UP

That was my thought on my run the other day as I was thinking back to last year. You know how you have super big goals. And you have to coax yourself along every day to believing in them for you. And most days- it’s like a LOT of faith because you’re not seeing the progress that you know will eventually come. But then other days- it all feels like the goal is so much more real & reachable.
.
Well, I felt like it was all FINALLY lining up for me. And things were seeming possible. And I was seeing new times & feeling confident with training. And then it all started crashing down.
.
The high of things FINALLY clicking with my running then got to meet the low of being sick & it causing a domino of health issues & the unpredictability of whether I would get better in time to get to have a good marathon. It was all super disorienting. You go so long climbing a rope to your goals-& then it feels like the rope became untethered up top & you’re tumbling down- trying to make sense of it all.

What do you do when it all comes tumbling down? Do you give up? Do you mourn? Do you get back & commit to positivity & faithfulness with the situation you find yourself in?
.
It’s so hard when you’re super goal oriented - and that goal is no longer RIGHT there within reach- and you have to work REALLY hard to regain old ground. You have to have that same enthusiasm, hope, & positivity as if your goal is right within reach - because if you don’t maintain it in the comeback part- you’ll never actually reach the point where you can get that long-awaited breakthrough. So I’m not mourning the last 10 months that have been serious regression mode as I have had to let my body have space to heal. I’m thankful that I am finally in a place where I can start back up in the dream chasing. Whether things are lining up for me to knock it out of the park- or I’m actually the one being knocked out, haha- we choose the enthusiasm & passion we bring into any situation. God is good. Life is good.🥰❤️

If I close my eyes...it doesn't hurt as much😩

Skipping out on the gym sucks man, I was still able to do the same lifts but I dead ass felt like I was about to pass out. We all do it sometimes though and I'm here to tell y'all it's OK as long as you jump back into it.

Anyway, I hope all of you had a great weekend 🤗 Clinton and I are in Mackay for his work, but it’s our 2year anniversary today so we decided to turn this into a little getaway trip. (When life gives you lemons 🍋)
He will be busy most of the day today so I am going to go check out the area and local @snapfitnessmackay. And potentially some thrift shopping afterwards, maybe I’ll find a bikini to actually use the hotel pool. 🧜🏼‍♀️

Lifting doesn’t need to be overly complicated...I actually prefer simple.  However there comes a time in everyone’s workout when exercises and your routine get a little stale and results suffer.  Sometimes something as simple as making a seated lift a standing one can get you over the hump.  In addition to forcing your core to stabilize your position, you also get a good static 🔥🔥 from the partial athletic squatting position during this standing row.  If you haven’t done these give them a try!

We were able to brave the wilderness as a family 🏕 and I didn’t even have a meltdown throwing our schedule to the wind. Can you say WINNING?! .

I’m super curious, are you a go with the floooow kinda mama or a gimme the schedule mama?! .

I’m for sure a schedule mama! However, throwing out that schedule this weekend was everything I didn’t know I needed!! 👏🏼
.
Liam did amazing sleeping and even with sleeping less than an hour during the day on Saturday, he was the happiest boy around! Sometimes it is SO dang hard for me to release some control and go with the flooooow, I have gotten better over the year but gosh almighty it is TOUGH. This camping trip was a day and a half of unplugging, connecting and soaking in this truly special time in our life! .

The more I learn to let go, the easier it is for me to see the big picture and enjoy each moment 💞

My eldest brother who does martial arts is visiting the family this weekend. I thought I'd get him to teach me how to punch🥊.

. It was great fun learning today, as with most sports/exercises there's a method, so I had to learn how to stand/punch etc! I love trying/learning new things, this was fun. Shall be visiting my brother down South next month, so might go to the JKD and stick class they go to, more new activities to try out, woo hoo!

-seal rows 4x15/12/10/8/6 increasing the weight each time⁣
-kneeling cable row (not sure what to call this lol) 3x12 per arm⁣
-rope pull down 4x15 SS w⁣
-rope face pulls 4x20⁣

For those of us that are on this last minute table, you don’t need to sign up for expensive meal plans and detox programs to get started. Feel free to join the DIY gang 😎! As a professional cheap person, this one day detox water cost me only N730

Here’s the shopping list:
N160 Funtuna Water 💧
N200 Lemon 🍋 
N150 Mint Leaves 🌿 
N100 Green lemon 
N50 Lime 
N50 Cucumber 🥒 
N20 Ginger

That’s it o! And I love the fact that the @funtunawater bottle comes in a convenient 3L container which means once I make this, it’ll last me the whole day!

I’m not going to lie to you I still ate Amala and Vegetable Soup at night 😂. I tried to stay strong; the spirit was willing but the body was weak😭. The good thing is I can try again and again because there is plenty of @funtunawater to go round its available at Shoprite Supermarkets, and many other fine outlets! 
Last last if we cannot meet up for summer body 2019, we can start working on our 2020 body!
