Thanks @minnidip for allowing me to have a good sized and HOA approved pool in my backyard. May not be the same as going to a normal pool but it’s mine in the privacy of my own backyard, oh and did I mention my bathing suit still fits!!! Heck yea!! .

I often take a step back and look in the mirror to ‘check in’ with Eleisha to see how she is doing because she does a lot and tries to meet her own unrealistic expectations sometimes. I say that to remind you to take a step back sometimes and take in what is right in front of you. Then you will realize what your fulfillment is. For me, it’s my faith, my family, my friends and my commitment to my health that contributes to mine. ⠀

It was a goooooood leg day 🔥 my legs are shaking but getting strong 😭 I was so sweaty but managed to close 2 of my Apple Watch activity rings in one workout! 😁 My goals for the next couple weeks are to lose 4 pounds and eat healthier overall 💪🏼

Everyone wants results but not everyone wants to work to get those results 😬 Changing your body has to be a full commitment, so that includes working out AND MORE IMPORTANTLY EATING RIGHT 🙌🏼 You can exercise all you want but nothing will change if you are eating junk day by day! Understanding your body is the key to learning how to properly take care of it 😁❤️

another busy week has been and gone✌🏼 crazzzyyy. I’ve had some fab sessions this week but also some not so fab sessions, this is normal for ANYONE. No one goes to the gym and ‘nails’ it every time🤷🏻‍♀️ we all have days where we don’t feel our best, are tired, are busy, have other things on our minds, that’s not ‘lazy’ that’s NORMAL🙌🏻

another busy week has been and gone✌🏼 crazzzyyy. I’ve had some fab sessions this week but also some not so fab sessions, this is normal for ANYONE. No one goes to the gym and ‘nails’ it every time🤷🏻‍♀️ we all have days where we don’t feel our best, are tired, are busy, have other things on our minds, that’s not ‘lazy’ that’s NORMAL🙌🏻

This allows you to burn excess calories and strengthen muscles and bones. It also helps control blood pressure, cholesterol and blood glucose levels, in addition to helping you sleep better, acquire a state of relaxation, avoid mood swings; improve self-esteem and personal satisfaction

Muscle-building, fat-burning and athletic performance are all diminished by sleep deprivation. Lack of sleep can also affect your hunger hormone, ghrelin, which can cause you to overeat. TIME OFF = LOSING PROGRESS?

At some point, almost all lifters worry about losing their progress when they take time off.
‍
The time off could be due to vacation, an injury, or another life event that takes you away from the gym for a couple weeks 📅
‍
As a result, it's perfectly fine to wonder if you're going to lose the strength that you've worked so hard to build.
‍
Luckily, some smart folks ran a cool study [1] and already have a good idea about this.

FACT #1: YOU WON'T LOSE YOUR PROGRESS 💪🏻
‍
▪️The subjects trained for 4 weeks, took 2 weeks off, then resumed training for 4 weeks⠀
‍
▪️After the 2 weeks off, subjects didn't lose any strength or size
‍
▪️In fact, they all gained strength over the 10 weeks - despite the 2 week break
⠀
FACT #2: DON'T STRESS ABOUT GETTING EXTRA PROTEIN 🍗

▪️During their 2 weeks off, 1 group took 25g of protein every day⠀

▪️The other group took 25g of carbs every day, instead of the protein⠀

2. Isolated leg circles to reverse lunge
3. Squat to curtsy lunge

I hiked the highest mountain I’ve ever climbed this weekend. And I LOVED it. I’m typically not someone who enjoys this type of hiking on the regular but this weekend reminded me of how strong I am

I pushed myself further than I have before and got to summit this beautiful mountain
.
.
Going off the grid for 36 hours was so cleansing, mentally, but it certainly didn’t mean that I didn’t keep up with my nutrition
.
.
I brought shakeology with me and also planned out our meals perfectly. NO EXCUSES .
.
I’m so proud of how hard I pushed to summit this mountain and also how easy it was to switch off

Non Exercise Activity Thermogenesis which in simpler terms is the amount of calories you burn outside of exercise is the most underrated variable to fat loss. So things like taking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking as far away as you can from the front entrance of the grocery store, standing more throughout the day, walking the dog, playing with the kids, etc. The more active you are throughout the day, the more calories you burn throughout the day, the easier it is to put yourself in a caloric deficit through exertion and fat loss occurs. The calories you burn in a day from N.E.A.T. could be as little as 10% but even close to 20-50% if you really are active and really want to and you can burn hundreds of calories throughout the day from being more active. A lot of people only target a caloric burn through their exercise, but in reality you probably aren't burning as many calories as you think you are in your 20 minutes workout, but calories can add up significantly in a 10+ hour period you're awake and you're being active. Let's say you need about 2500 calories in a day and you burn off an additional few hundred calories through increased N.E.A.T and maybe a fasted walk, that is a much healthier caloric deficit than restricting food intake. This doesn't mean go crush yourself, but it does mean be more active throughout the day.

REPEATING‼️
We’re talking about targeting the glute fibers around the area of what we today call “SIDE GLUTES”.. This is not a muscles! We say “side glutes/booty” cus it’s basically easier to understand the target area. BUT this is in fact the fibers of your GLUTEUS MEDIUS that is placed under your gluteus max. And then it’s the “UPPER” and outer portion of the GLUTEUS MAXIMUS itself that is activated here! 🙋🏻‍♀️ We can target the fibers in the area but.. your whole glute will be involved. Hope u understand what I’m trying to say

Here with some new sassy exercises for you to try our galsss 🔥 ADD into your lower bod session as finishers! trust me, they to MORE DAMAGE then you think 😅🍑 lemme know and plzzz leave a comment below so I know you read this

METHOD;

1️⃣ Cable side kick INTO side step lunge | 4set x 15reps each leg lol why is my face crying
2️⃣ Backward stepping INTO kick | 3set x 20reps each leg booty booty fire fire
3️⃣ Curtsy lunge INTO bend side kick | 4set x 15reps each leg if you haven’t try, you’ve missed something gooooood
4️⃣ Single leg elevate glute bridges | 4set x 20reps each leg neverrrr disappoints your glutes

obstacles in life will test you, your patience, and your faith more than anything else. recently, i’ve been hitting more bumps in the road than anticipated and part of me just wants to throw in the towel, complain complain complain, and wither away in a hole of self pity LOL but today, i woke up with a new level of motivation, a new mindset. a new level of FAITH. im a firm believer in everything happens for a reason. and if you adopt this mindset 100%, it’s close to impossible to ever be upset because, well, it’s all happening for a reason, even the most horrible things in life... they are the reason you are where you are today! look around, recognize the incredible blessings you have been given (but don’t even notice most of the time..) We are all spinning on a little blue and green ball floating in the middle of no where during the year 2019... what’s the point of questioning anything when we have yet to even understand the explanation of our own existence? trust the process. know your worth. GO OUT AND DO YOUR BEST. with this mindset, you WILL succeed. 💛
