🐺I'm a firm believer that our reality is a reflection of our thoughts, and often times, that can be reflected through messages that we need to hear to ensure we continue to grow as a person. I've lost count the number of times I've been thinking something and then just like that, something would reflect that thought in my physical being. That's no different for this quote.  I've noticed it everywhere all of a sudden. ⁣

It's easy to get stuck in our little bubble where everything is safe, happy and content. You know what to expect, you have your set routine, you have guarantees. Sometimes though, especially when we want more, we find ourselves being scared to get out of your comfort zone and as a result, the bubble is no longer happy. Safe? Yes. Content? Yes. But happy, far from it. ⁣

It's scary not knowing what's around the corner. It's scary to not have a back-up. It's scary to fail. It's scary to think about the judgment from others. Or is it? Is it actually scary? Or is it exciting? Is it an amazing opportunity to grow and become a better version of yourself? I really think as a society, we've been conditioned to stick to our comfort zones because we're scared of what might happen. We're scared of making a mistake. But most importantly, we're not taught to believe in ourselves as much as we should. ⁣

Be fearless.  Stop hiding behind all these excuses and go after what you want, even if it makes you feel uncomfortable. Believe me, that discomfort is short-term, but the rewards you reap from taking that leap of faith outside the box will last an eternity. 🤭Pictures are taken a year apart. This is the difference between A LOT of cardio and weight training.
I used to do all kinds of cardio machines, elliptical, treadmill, stair master etc for HOURS. Every day I did cardio go at least an hour. Later after I graduated high school I researched weight training.
During this I found out that cardio is a good way to burn calories WHILE WORKING OUT. It’s also great for your heart and lungs.
BUT I found out that after you weight train you STILL burn calories up to HOURS after working out. Your muscles look more defined, the shape of your body changes, you feel MORE ENERGIZED AND IN BETTER MOODS.
Yes I was worried I’d look “bulky” but I realized those women WORK DAILY to look like that with specific diets and train a lot different than someone just lifting at the gym. I also was not eating ENOUGH, or feeding my body yummy Whole Foods like grains, veggies, fruits etc
Weight training changed my lifestyle and my mentality about working out as well as fitness all together.
Also for best results use BOTH cardio and weight training. I recommend 10-30 minutes MAX CARDIO AND 30-45 minutes weight training. DO NOT OVERWORK YOUR BODY AT THE GYM. MAX TIME YOU SHOULD BE SPENDING THERE IS AN HOUR (Not counting time stretching or foam rolling) If you have any questions DM me or ask below.

At my recent fortnightly check in with @jakecampusnutrition we set some goals for the next two weeks - the main one being to get my ass to the gym more. Super pleased to say I have done just that and am loving it! Each day I’m feeling more and more confident in my own skin and am getting my love back for exercise that I had back in my F45 days. My body is my most priceless possession so I’m determined to take care of it! 💪🏻

1. What form of protein is ideal to consume after an exercise session? 
Solid form or liquid protein?
Answer: 
Liquid Meal - Convenient and easily digested
Solid Meal - Low on convenience and slow to digest

You need to see convenience, digestibility and rate of absorption. On days when I’m very busy and I have to rush for work immediately after my workout, I’ll settle in for a liquid shake over a solid meal. However if I’ve trained hard and not doing much after my training session, then I’ll choose to go for a solid meal.

2. Is it necessary to consume whey protein after an exercise session?
Answer: While this may not be necessary provided you are getting enough protein throughout the day at regular intervals. However it’s just a convenient practise of feeding your body with high quality food after a good session

3. How long do I have to wait after an exercise session before I eat or drink liquid protein?
Answer: You can eat or drink immediately after training if you’re hungry. If you aren’t hungry, don’t eat or drink.

4. India brands v/s Imported brands, what do you suggest?
Answer: A brand should be favoured based on quality and taste. There are some Indian brands which are equally good and you should realise that the original raw material comes from very few companies. So an X and Y brand may be buying raw materials from the same place and difference would be only flavouring agents and combination of digestive enzymes.

5. How long do I have to take a protein shake? Can I stop taking it after some time if I feel my strength is good?
Answer - There is no timeline till when you can take a protein shake. As long as you want to provide your body with high quality nutrition in a handy and convenient manner, you should continue. If you want to stop, make sure you adjust those 40 - 50 grams of first class protein from other sources. PROTEIN SHAKES CAN STOP, BUT PROTEIN FEEDING CONTINUES FROM OTHER SOURCES.

Does any one still do the old school red or green days? Here it is explained... Treat the files as one plan with two different ways of following it. Both have unlimited free foods, and flexibility to add one or two healthy extra A's (predominantly dairy) and two healthy extra B's (fibre and protein) to supplement the free food.

RED- this is more protein based with unlimited quantities of lean meat, vegetables and fruit (the only exceptions being potatoes, peas, parsnips and sweetcorn). GREEN- more carbohydrate based with unlimited quantities of pasta, rice, potatoes, pulses, all vegetables and fruit.

The days can be followed in whatever way best suits - all red, all green, a few days of each - any combinations.

Once you are following either the red or green plan for the day, then it shouldn't be deviated from - a green lunch shouldn't be followed by a red dinner.

So- a typical day will see milk/cheese being used from the HEA, and cereal/bread from HEB, then free foods.

HEB's can also be used to introduce measured (small) quantities of meat into a green day, or pulses, pasta or potatoes into a red day.

Monday’s are for shoulders! Trying to grow them frieza boulder shoulders! Felt great being back in the gym and normal beginning of the week being back from Jamaica. Tonight body felt amazing and responded really well weights I was wanting to push up. Love when workouts like this start my week! Sets the tone for me and really pumps me up to kill it rest of the week.  But more than anything I’m so so proud of my beautiful mother! She came to the gym a little after I did and was running. She’s been goin to gym about 4-5 times a week for past couple weeks to run and do cardio! She’s been doin so awesome and been able to get her endurance up to 45 mins straight of running! So proud of her!! 😍😍❤️❤️ She wants to run a 5k in the fall so my bros and I all decided we all goin to do one with her! Age is just a number, don’t give up on yourself. You’re capable of a lot more than you think you just have to give yourself the opportunity to prove it!

Cableflyes
→Grasp both handles with a neutral grip and take a step forward to split the stance
→Press the handles to lockout while flexing the pecs and extending the elbows
→Keep a slight bend in the elbows, move entirely at the shoulder joint, and slowly allow the arms to open while the pecs stretch
→Return to the starting position by flexing your pecs and bringing the handles together at chest height
→Slowly lower back to the starting position and repeat for the desired number of repetitions . .

I’ve been training consistently...but my eating?? It’s been crazy. How I have been eating has NOT been aligning with my physique/fitness goals. & if you’ve been doing bodybuilding for a while, you KNOW that your diet is SO important when it comes to body recomp goals. ⁣⁣

✨ What I’ve realized? ⁣⁣
Intuitive Eating is NOT for me.. not right now anyway.⁣⁣

Intuitive eating has a time and place. However, 9x/10, I find that you’re cutting yourself short if you have strict body recomp goals. You don’t see great figure/bikini competitors eating “intuitively” while they’re prepping. It’s just not the most efficient way to go about reaching your goals.⁣⁣

I find that I make the longest strides toward my goals following a strict diet. I ACTUALLY prefer it after getting used to it. ⁣⁣

Don't mind the hair and beard I got a haircut after this 😂 Feeder workouts. Holy fuck those are life changers!!! If you guys are having any problems putting size on a body part do feeder workouts before you sleep (personal favourites are 50 curls 3 sets and tricep pushback 50 reps four sets) for legs squat till your dead!! And lastly, they don't need to be heavy make sure to focus on contraction!
