A small snippet from @treatmyocd  I read this morning.  Just some background information about my specific OCD case... I manage facial ticks and intrusive thoughts like “turn the doorknob 5 times or else you won’t know it’s closed... oh you’re a block away from home and forgot our doorknob thing? Better drive back home and cry while you jiggle the door handle like an idiot.” Or “hey face, it would be super cool if you stopped contorting into weird shapes that hurt... no? You’re going to make me have a stupid face for 20 mins? Okay...” I smoke and eat a decent  amount of medical marijuana. My prescription is for three grams a day but sometimes I’ll go over this. I also take a medium dose of Zoloft which seems to have made my facial ticks worse. 
We need to do more research into OCD and how to treat it. I know the percentage of people dealing with this nonsense is low in comparison to say chronic depression but this world is only going to need this research more as time goes on and marijuana becomes more accepted as both a medical and recreational drug. 
If research we’re to conclusively prove that the relief I feel when taking marijuana is not actually helping my condition then I would stop. However evidence at the moment seems shrouded in bias and inconclusively suggests it does offer at least a sedative type of relief.

Hey guys so things are going pretty well!! And without any meds at all, 😋 ah who needs them anyways...... no seriously meds made me see some of the most amazing recoveries. Unfortunately I can have them but that’s ok.... it’s just slowed my recovery a little but hey I’m on the mend..... no more ensures, food is helping me maintain weight...... soon be moving Into my new house really excited oh and my bed 😍 kids are enjoying themselves loving them to bits. Recovery is awesome and more than possible. Keep it up guys!! Enjoy the sun and bank holiday.

Sometimes as adults we are afraid to open up to our children about the difficult topics. Children experience trauma and sadness, if we can open up to them now, then when they are adults and teenagers, they are ready to open up to you at the most difficult times and this is how we build those bonds and relationships. Books can be a gateway for conversation, sometimes they won't be ready but at least they know you are there to discuss it with them. You and your children are an emotional comfort for eachother so rely on eachother and pick eachother up. Do this with a open heart and mind. Ready for each others opinions.

Social media is an illusion of what someone wants you to see. That they have the perfect life, the perfect job, the perfect relationship or perfect health. But what’s the point of pretending when you can express how you really feel and start a conversation and spread awareness. I’m not ok but I’m taking each day as it comes. Enjoying the highs and reflecting on the lows. Make sure you check in on yourself and acknowledge the lows. Because hiding from them or distracting yourself for too long can be quite damaging. When I first started this practice in March, one of my good friends (who is also a therapist), said to me: “Emily, there are clients out there who NEED to work with YOU. Not any other therapist. You. You are the person they can hear things from. You are the one they’re looking for.” .

This made my heart swell. I had been so nervous and fearful about this not working out. And hearing this was a huge relief. .

The same goes for you. For each of us. The world needs YOU. Needs YOUR voice at this exact time in our narrative. We each have a role to play. We are each ESSENTIAL. .

If it doesn’t feel like that, then fear has you. Fear is probably overwhelming you. But talk to someone who knows you. Ask them what your gifts are. They will tell you 💜 the world NEEDS YOUR MAGIC. YOURS ✨💋 right now. // #composedoflove #magic #spiritual #healing #growth

good morning everyone. sunday is a perfect day for grounding yourself and surrounding yourself with people that care about you. 
Sometimes acts of kindness that you believe will help someone will only hurt yourself in the end. It’s important to realize those things before it’s too late. in my case, my wake up call came from a dream that woke me up at 6am, but i am not going to let that ruin my day. 
Since I believe in myself and my self worth, I am a strong girl that can get through anything, even if it knocks me on my ass. Just remember,
1. everything will be okay 
2. if you’re hurting, talk to someone who you trust 
If you’re at your lowest point, the only way you can go is up, strive to overcome your problems and not run from them. you are strong, you are amazing, and you can do anything you put your mind too. - 
my inbox is open to anyone, don’t be afraid to ask for help, because someone might be feeling the same way you are and reaching out for help is the first step to overcoming your problems. •
