I want to put on size without losing my abs.

For most people they believe they need to dedicate hours of running and cardio to maintain this.

It is possible but you have to be smart about what you’re doing.

Think about being effective and efficient like this video. We are doing 40 yard sprint. Also known as short distance sprints.

Sprinting is pushing yourself at full potential for a shorter duration, and your muscles get enough time to recover after the sprint action.

Therefore it helps in building muscle like an actual workout in the gym but keeping or building the abs that you want.

Work smarter 👨‍🎓 Not harder 🥵

Today we said a fond farewell to Annette Bowman, one of our most dedicated volunteers, who is leaving us to head outback. Annette has been volunteering with NSW Police Legacy for more than seven years, and in that time she's helped out with pretty much every event we've run, including Family Day, The Children's Christmas Party, The Christmas Luncheon, and many others. She has also been an absolute powerhouse behind the Blue Ribbon Raffle, one of our biggest fundraisers for the Police Family. Leg day!!! Today was a tough leg day workout. I was feeling really sluggish after a full day of work. But I still got in there and got to work. Today is day 5 of my intermittent fasting. I’m down about 5 lbs since I’ve started. But tbh Its not working as efficiently as I had hoped. I know it’s prob taking time for my body to get used to it. So of course I’m going to remain positive. Since I’ve started the fast I definitely notice a difference in stamina and endurance. And surprisingly a big difference with clarity in my mind. It’s kind of hard to explain but I definitely feel rushes of endorphins at certain times of the day. Especially after eating for the first time after the 16 hours. I’m going to continue the fast for another week and evaluate it again. I hope everyone got out there and started their weeks off the right way! New week means that anything that happened the week before is over with. A fresh start! A good week to start new goals. Good week to get off on the right foot! Get out there and get it !

Yesterday I got to the gym, smashed 2L of water for the day and prioritised an early bedtime. This morning I decided against going for a run, and took the extra sleep in to recharge my batteries. Balance is the absolute key to fitness, there's no point smashing yourself at the gym if you're not giving your body time to recover. My plans for the rest of today include basketball tonight and then another early night so I can get to the gym for #week2 arms and abs first thing tomorrow morning 💪🏽#chooseyourhard #bbg12weekchallenge #12weekbbgchallenge #bbgcommunity #bbgvictoria #bbgmelbourne #bbgaustralia #sweatwithkayla #dedication #determination #discipline #fitness #fitspo #fitspiration #ashysquad #ashybines #healthyeating #healthylifestyle #healthyliving #balance

Killed it doing seated military presses the other day! 💪Getting better at this movement and am actually really starting to like it. 😁 Did a set of 20 45, set of 15 65, set of 12 95, and a set of 20 135 PR for front presses. Then did a set of 12 65, set of 12 95, and a set of 17 115 PR for behind the neck presses. 🤘 Then did 2 sets of 20 50 and 2 sets of 30 60 for upright rows. Lastly did 5 sets of dumbbell laterals with the 15s, 20s, and 25s to failure. 😳 Awesome session!  This was after bench press and dumbbell presses so shoulders were already a little taxed. 😅

Just your typical LA Fitness locker room selfie.. Switched my training spilt back to quads & calves on Mondays. Still weigh between 168-170 lbs at 5’11” & I am still doing 30-45 mins of cardio (more like 20 mins on a leg day), just enjoying it all. 😈🥶😏

I felt like having a thin and crisp crust.. So a thin and crisp crust, I had. For the next experiment, I'm almost doubling the amount of starter in my dough. Trying to get a TANGY crust. I made it from scratch so it's healthy.. Side note, that prosciutto was salty af, wouldn't have it any other way. My tongue is hurting though..

In life, everyone wants to matter.  In medicine, every doctor wants to matter.  During these times, hospitals have come up with protocols for patient safety, which is appropriate, but sometimes or most times, these protocols can be carried out without physicians.  Do you want to matter as a physician?  Increase your opportunity to make an impact.  What do I mean?  About three years ago, a colleague asked me why I studied immunology and rheumatology (autoimmune disease) so much.  After all, she said, “you’re not a rheumatologist”. The reason was...to matter.  I want to make an impact on a patient’s health.  I don’t want to always have to send to another physician to answer a question I can answer myself.  I want to explain it to our patient. They (other doctors) read the same books we do.  It’s not that I won’t refer.  I’m not stubborn.  I know when to ask for help.  I just want to make an impact.  I want to matter.  No doubt in my mind that you do too.
