A weakness that became a strength 💪✔

For years I struggled with my upper body strength. After many years of dedication and hard work, I got to the point of reaching a strength I didn't know I had. But that wouldn't be possible if I hadn't stayed focused, if I hadn't train 6 days a week, if I hand't commited with myself, if I hand't know the reason why I was doing it which was to FEEL STRONGER. -

Change doesn't happen overnight, you need to put work, time and all of yourself if you really want to transform something, specially your body, because it takes a long time.

Put excuses aside and create new challenges, give to your life a new meaning, the meaning of developing your maximum potential.

So after a little over 3 years, this Saturday I am competing once again. Exactly one year ago I decided to make once last effort and do everything I could to see if I could get back to where I used to be. If it was meant to be, I'd compete once again. But if I was crippled by the same injury issues I'd be very content with just exercising for health purposes, to eat tasty food, and just focus on coaching. Fortunately between @bradcoolyard and @quinn.henochdpt, it was meant to be, and I am going into this meet with 100% confidence that I will be able to put together a PR total on the platform. I finished off last week with my best lifts of this prep being a 446lb. squat, 275lb. bench press, and 512lb. deadlift. Of those, squat is no doubt the one I am most proud of even though its still a bit off from my all time best. Squat is the lift where most of my chronic issues stemmed from and I honestly would have been happy to take a token 402lb. squat as I had very little expectations of what I might be able to do last year when this all first started, but to be where I am at feels like a great accomplishment for me. I'll have a lot more people to thank and will save that for my post meet write-up, so I will leave the more long winded post for that, but to say I am pumped for this Saturday is an understatement!

let’s start the week off talking about EMOTIONAL EATING 😶🍕🍟🌭 (bc i’ve been struggling w/ this lately)
•
first off, let’s answer WHY we eat even when we’re not hungry 🤔 this could be caused by boredom, social celebration of an event, to feel comfort/safety, as a reward, to relive a memory, or just out of habit 😯
•
it can be hard to tell when hunger is PHYSICAL or EMOTIONAL, so keep these things in mind when you start to feel ‘hungry’ ⬇️
•
1) did the hunger build up slowly (physical) or occur suddenly (emotional)? 🤔
2) did you eat within the last 3 hours? 🤔
3) do you crave food in general (physical) or a specific one (emotional)? 🤔
•
now, how do we STOP emotional eating once we’ve acknowledged it? 🤷🏽‍♂️ the first step is finding your TRIGGERS that cause it 🍕 for me, this is usually social events or times of stress. next, learn how to COMBAT these negative patterns 💁🏼‍♀️ i find it useful to repeat the phrases “food is fuel” or “i am what i eat”, to show that it truly matters what i put into my body 🥕 thinking of the CONSEQUENCES of eating the food may be helpful, also (guilt, bloatedness, fatigue, etc.)
•
lastly, find things to REPLACE emotional eating 🌞 this could be yoga, taking a walk, reading, journaling, or anything that gets your mind off of food 😇
• 
keeping all of this in mind, realize IT’S OKAY if you’re not perfect & find yourself emotionally eating here and there. we are people & we have stressful lives; don’t restrict yourself too much or you may start to develop binging tendencies ❌ just be MINDFUL of your intake & when you need food, and you’ll start to see improvements in no time 🤗

Some of you have been inquiring about my health. I’ve been having MS type symptoms for the past few months.. I have a 2nd MRI scheduled and an appointment with  neurologist. Incredibly fun day today! 😍🎉Deadlifted at the charity event Deadlift for Depression at @peninsulabarbell 
Got my second lift att 220kg and missed 225kg but still managed to beat @alexdekenpl by 0.62 Wilks point which was the main goal. I think I may have shouted glory shall be mine before my third attempt but I’m not sure, I guess I got a little excited.
I shall let it be known that he had me on body weight but that’s not what we shook hands on yesterday so no takesies backsies. 🥇🏆
Either way, had tons of fun lifting with friends and getting food and beer after. 🍻Thank you @peninsulabarbell for putting this together, you’re doing something really great with this, contributing to something that means a lot for many of us. It’s a beautiful thing when the sport comes together to make change for the better. 💪❤️

Ich konnte einen neuen PR im #backsquat (75kg) & im #Bench (50kg) aufstellen. Ich bin Sau stolz. Meine 100kg #deadlift stehen !! Hab sie wieder geschafft. Deutlich leichter als beim letzten. Leider waren 105kg gestern noch nicht drin. Nächstes mal. 
Ich werde jetzt meine #squats weiter ausbauen - da will ich stärker werden. Und ich werde es. •

Habe einen Watercut gemacht, leider die letzten 2 Tage Migräne gehabt wodurch der Salz und Wasserentzug gar nicht mal so angenehm wurde.

Eingewogen mit 62,2 kg.
Beuge 150 (2,5 kg PR)
Bank 77,5 (7,5 kg PR)
Heben 155 (2,5 kg PR)
Total = 382,5 (—> 2,5 kg über A-Kadernorm 🌝) .
Und 9/9 gegangen. 
Wichtig waren mir sichere Versuche. Lieber in kleinen Schritten steigern und immer Erfolgserlebnisse haben. ⚪️⚪️⚪️
Ich hatte das Gefühl, dass da das ein oder andere Kilo noch im Tank waren. 😁
Allgemein war ich 3. beste relativ Starterin der Frauen mit 414 Wilkspunkten. 
Unser Team @johannessaurus_legs & @max.eisen hat ordentlich abgeliefert! 🥉

Hip Flow💫

Something I’m loving lately (but not very good at yet) is this hip opener I picked up from @thephysiofix
.
So many important/lovely things happening with this movement- all benefits of the lateral lunge with an added hip IR kicker- it’s a dream come true for us “as few separate exercises as possible” folks.
.
The hardest part is getting back up 😏 I’m a work in progress, cut me some slack.
.
🎥 perform a lateral lunge 📍at end range get that booty on the ground 📍stay upright and rotate previously bent knee towards ground for IR 📍open up to the front 📍stand up 📍repeat as needed .
It’s def advanced so use your best judgment and if it’s too much- we’ll I’ve gotchu covered, have a scroll through this page o’ mine.
