We checked out out this brand✨new Union Square spot yesterday for a 50 min sweat consisting of boxing, running + floor work. Basically if Rumble, Switch Playground and Barry’s had a very extra baby, it would be GRIT.

Before we dive into the details of the class, we need to take a moment for the studio itself. It was literally one bouncer away from feeling like an NYC nightclub (it IS backed by Pitbull after all...). Right away, you’re greeted with full disco ball decor and a fully-loaded (YES, with alcohol) bar - they had a bartender serving cocktails, green juice mocktails, kombucha + more.

The staff was super friendly & there was a high level a of energy + excitement. When we walked into the actual classroom, the club vibes definitely intensified: full on light show, music and various screens (+ more disco balls ... duh). Now onto the workout: there were 3 stations - floor work, boxing on the water bag + running on the treadmill. You do 1 round at each station, then a quick lightning bolt ⚡️round to finish it off (2 mins at each station). We loved this setup because it made the workout fly by. Not sure about you guys, but we always feel more exhausted going through an entire round knowing you have to repeat the full thing 2 or 3 more times.

Once the class ended, we were EXHAUSTED and v sweaty - and although the instructor is very hands off (there’s legit 70 or more people in the room!) the moves were all demonstrated on screens so it was pretty fool proof. There was plenty of locker space downstairs with fully stocked showers and refresh stations.

This workout is definitely worth trying for yourself (even as a social activity ... we reco bringing a friend!) Will you guys be checking it out? xx #ssssweats

The creatine phosphate system starts you off. It donates a phosphate molecule to ADP to make ATP (energy). It can do this extremely quickly but it makes only a tiny amount of energy and take a very long to to replenish itself. There is also a bit of stored ATP that gets used up quickly in the phase
.
Next comes anaerobic glycolysis. This is mostly used in medium duration. Energy is make through glucose in the bloodstream and glycogen in the liver. It’s pretty fast but after 90-120 seconds it can’t quite keep up with the demand for energy
.
Lastly is aerobic glycolysis. Aerobic meaning that oxygen is needed to produce ATP. The process is quite slow but it produces a ton of ATP
.
When one system is dominating it doesn’t mean the other ones shut off. They continue to operate back stage so to speak
