For day 4 it’s #happybabypose or #anandabalasana. Again such an amazing hip opener and just a pose to relax and take a deep breath! I love to do that asana after a good workout because I can relief my muscles and calm down 🍀.

Thật sự là có những ngày chỉ nguyên chuyện thở thôi cũng thấy khó khăn, cả về nghĩa đen lẫn nghĩa bóng. 
Đôi khi cảm thấy kiếp người thực khổ. Thảng hoặc tâm hồn giun dế của mình được giao phó cho việc phải sống và gồng gánh cái xác thân này thực  sự là điều quá sức.
Người ta bảo, gian nan mới tôi rèn được sắt đá, hay bạc vàng ngọc ngà gì đó, còn mình, hiện tại còn chưa bò qua được 1 nửa con dốc cuộc đời, đã rũ rượi, còng queo, bầy hầy phát ớn... không rõ, "gian nan" này rồi sẽ đẽo gọt mình tới tận đâu của xương tuỷ. 
Vẫn phải tự kiếm cho mình chút gì vừa ngọt, vừa tình, vừa ấm áp từ bức ảnh con con tình cờ lượm lặt được. Chẳng phải trước giờ đều là phải tự mình dựa vào chính mình đó sao. 
Cõi này là cõi tạm.
Xác này cũng chỉ là xác tạm.
Đi được đến đâu thì hay đến đó, nhỉ.
Ầu ơ, thực muốn đá bay con mèo ra chỗ khác🙄🙄🙄

“Sometimes you have to let life turn you upside down, so you can learn to live, right side up.” ✨

I often come to points where things just don’t make sense. I feel all the things at once. Anxiety, depression, confusion, overwhelming exhaustion. In these moments, I try to flip my perspective . Usually in a metaphorical sense, but sometimes literally. 💁🏻‍♀️
.
My yoga practice runs deep and spans over a decade. It helps immensely with getting out of my mind and into my body. Not necessarily into inversions, sweaty vinyasas or picture worthy asanas, but in the breath-body connection. Breath fills me completely with pieces of the universe, reminding me I am my own piece of the universe, a unique part of the puzzle and I allow myself in those moments to only feel humble gratitude. Tiny reprieves from my chaotic web of thoughts.

Let's continue to look at the modern state of our mouths. ​
​Sleep apnea is now a BILLION dollar global health problem. 
Who has a family member that snores, mouth breathes or grinds their teeth? What about restless sleep, sleepwalking, bedwetting, night terrors, or insomnia? Each of these could underlie a breathing issue that prevents deep restorative sleep. 
Did you know long term snoring is heavily linked to heart attacks, Alzheimer’s disease, and dementia? 
Today we’re (sleep) walking into an epidemic of sleep apnoea. 
The reason is that we completely missed the early warning signs.

1)When jaw doesn’t develop correctly, that means the airways are also smaller. Crooked teeth indicate a small cramped airway.
​ 
2)	Soft tissues and muscles can be trained to support the airway. The tongue the most complex muscular system in the body and acts as your airway support during sleep. When you don’t posture the tongue correctly in the day, you don’t do it at night, and snoring may ensue.
​
3)	Breathing patterns take time to support calm, restorative sleep. The brain becomes accustomed to how you breathe, and the idea of breathing through the nose makes many people feel like they will suffocate.

The rise of breathwork in the forms of Yoga, and techniques like Buteyko all help people to reconnect to their breath. Your body can go weeks without food, days without water, and minutes without air. 
Restorative deep sleep requires breathing patterns that allow the autonomic nervous system to relax so that the brain can move through cycles of Non-REM to REM sleep. If you have crooked teeth, low tongue posture, or recessive jaw patterns, you may  lie in the risk zone for sleep apnoea. 
Picking up the warning signs is key, and a mouth-body approach may mean you don’t have to sleep with a machine (CPAP) or device for the rest of your life.

One part of yoga practice is finding a sense of connection. It could be connecting breath to movement, or mind and body, or even in stillness. It is common for teachers to teach about connection by instructing you to dedicate your practice to someone else. A lot of times it is meant for someone in need, sending them thoughts of healing and love. Which is why, though strange, I don’t think it to be coincidence at all that I should end my 200 hour challenge today.

Photographed above is my friend Steve. Steve is one of the most courageous, inspirational people I’ve met. He has been battling for his life for the past 3 years with such grace and unbeknownst to him, I’ve dedicated every one of my practices to him since January. Steve recently found some sense of power over cancer, by taking topics around it that would normally be taboo and airing them out on his blog, @steve_othercword. He’s found strength in words, but there will still always be hard days, so if you make it to the bottom of this post, send him some love and healing thoughts.
