Basic wrist mobility drill... All my students and class members at @wildfoot_ have to do those movements religiously before every session.
Whether you’re in pain or not, wrist mobility is beneficial to work on, because every time you lift an object — be it a dumbbell or a coffee cup — your wrist is involved. Furthermore, since poor wrist mobility can contribute to forearm, elbow, and shoulder issues, working on your wrists can improve overall upper body strength and function.

If you will watch carefully you will see that I’m exercising my wrists in 4 different moves and angles.
THE KEY for each of them is to keep hands flat on the floor and elbows locked! This seems to be the most tricky part. If you can get this part nailed, apply gentle pressure and “bounce” back and forth as you’re maintaining kneeling position.

Nutze die Zeit während eines Herbstspaziergangs durch das gelb-goldene Laub nicht nur zur Stärkung deines Immunsystems, sondern baue alle 10 Minuten eine Kräftigungseinheit mit ein. ⁠
Mit großen Schritten zur Kräftigung der Bein- und Gesäßmuskulatur.⁠
Du führst alle 10 Minuten während deines Spaziergangs 10-15 „Ausfallschritte“ durch. Dein Oberkörper bleibt während der Schritte gerade und dein Bauch angespannt. Deine Schultern sind nach unten, hinten gerichtet und dein Blick gerade noch vorn gerichtet. Achte darauf das deine Füße nach vorne zeigen.⁠
Mit dieser Übung kräftigst du besonders deine Oberschenkel- und deine Gesäßmuskulatur. Zusätzlich wirkt sich das Einbauen der Ausfallschritte positiv auf deine Ausdauer aus und du wirst merken deine Spaziergänge werden ohne Probleme länger und leichter.⁠

Movement heals joints. Fact. ✅ Check out my go to movements for sticky, stiff shoulders.

1️⃣ Shoulder CARs: CONTROLLED articular rotations. The example is sped up 2x. Hit the outside edges of your mobility without causing pain. How slow can you go?

2️⃣ Floor Pushes: In a quadruped position with hands directly under shoulders, push the floor away. Think about creating space between your scapula.

3️⃣ Shoulder Infinities: Another exercise where CONTROL is key! Focus on smooth, controlled rotation. Video is sped up 4x.

These 3 simple movements are a great starting place for a lot of folks, but the shoulder is a complicated joint. Don’t be a dumbass and hurt yourself k?

우선 일반인들에 비해 등이 상대적으로 굽어있다는 rock climber들과 상대적으로 몸을 활짝 펼치는 쪽으로 움직임을 많이 수행하는 발레리노를 비교했을 때 당기는 등의 힘은 rock climber가 더 강할 가능성이 높습니다. 그럼 이런 상황에서 과연 ‘rock climber 들은 몸이 많이 굽어있기 때문에 좋지 않다’ 라고 얘기할 수 있을까요?

우리가 움직이는 대로 (이 모든 움직임들이 자극이자 스트레스) 그에 적응하여 몸의 구조가 만들어지게 됩니다.

사람마다 갖고 있는 체형의 구조 때문에 누구는 어떤 동작이 가능하고 누구는 불가능할 수 있습니다. 이런 경우엔 어떤 특정 동작을 모든 사람에게 강요하면 안되겠죠.

하지만 구조에 상관 없이 내가 수용가능한 부하와 범위를 이해한 상태에서 움직이고 트레이닝한다면 그 구조 내에서도 (한계는 있겠지만) 충분히 잘 움직일 수 있다고, 있어야 한다고 생각합니다. 많은 노력이 필요하겠죠 ㅎㅎ

가동성 트레이닝을 개별로 진행하는 경우 평가를 통해 부상 위험이 크거나 궁극적으로 하고자 하는 범위를 만들어야하는 경우 해당 부위를 집중적으로 트레이닝합니다.

반면에 킨스트레치 클래스에서는 가끔 쉬운 평가를 통해 한 쪽씩 진행하기도 하지만 그룹이라는 클래스 특성상 좌/우 모두를 트레이닝 합니다. (같은 방향의 가동성 트레이닝이 어느 오른쪽 또는 왼쪽에 더 필요하다고 해서 반대쪽은 안해도 된다는 뜻은 아닙니다) 다 필요하죠.

결국 트레이닝의 목적은 같지만 과정에 있어서 걸리는 시간에 차이가 있다고 생각하면 좋을 것 같습니다. 제가 느낀점은 어떤 트레이닝을 하던지 제대로 잘, 자주, 꾸준히 했을 때 개선되는 속도가 가장 빠른 것 같아요😊

결국 트레이닝의 목적은 같지만 과정에 있어서 걸리는 시간에 차이가 있다고 생각하면 좋을 것 같습니다. 제가 느낀점은 어떤 트레이닝을 하던지 제대로 잘, 자주, 꾸준히 했을 때 개선되는 속도가 가장 빠른 것 같아요😊

FLOOR KIP TUTORIAL -

We all know this move. This is the move you’d want to try after watching a bunch of Kung Fu movies at home then sneak into your backyard to try it. Today’s video is a video tutorial on the Floor Kip demonstrated by GMB Trainer @eorihuela -

Before attempting the Floor Kip make sure that you have a decent place to practice. Your backyard may not be the most ideal place, so find a gym or coach near you. You also want to make sure you have good back flexion and extension as the Floor Kip starts with spinal flexion and immediately moves into spinal extension. Having a good Bridge is a good start so that you have enough shoulder strength, hip extension, and wrist flexibility. -

If you need to work up to the Bridge check out our previous post form a couple days ago or Google GMB Spinal Flexibility for a full routine on Back bends and forward bends. -

Steps for the Floor Kip:
1. Lie on your back with your hands flat by your ears and bring your knees to your chest
2. Keep rolling your back so that only your upper back is on the floor
3. Extend hips and simultaneously push the floor with your hands
4. Keep hips and arms extended through the entire movement until you land on your feet. -

Quick Tip:
WORK ON YOUR FLEXIBILITY. Every skill has some combination of required flexibility, strength, and technique. Lacking one of these and you increase your chances of injury while improving these will increase your chances of landing the skill
