On today's episode of #flashbackfriday , there was at time I was really in a bad place .Scared of performing and even going out to see people perform .
It was so had that this fear started messing up with my singing and I had to take some time off and clear my head .

This is also @maali.ivan my best friend who's been with me in highs lows and everything in between .We haven't known each other long but the little we've conquered so far together is amazing ,like this little tune we wrote together called #anxiety .

Now I don't know how you go through your anxiety attacks ,but I try centering myself mentally,pacing my breathing, sipping herbal tea (peppermint is amazing) , watching comedy shows and trying to also sleep .

Good Morning Friends 🌞

Do what makes you happy, if not you will drown in your sadness. 
These pictures are taken exactly one year apart. Damn, I can see the sadness in my eyes. I think this was the start of my down slide into my depression. I was trying so fucking hard to hid it from everyone. 
I wasn’t enjoying putting on makeup anymore, so I would put on mascara and that was it just to try to look put together. Anyone who knows me, this was not me at all. We had just gotten back from a great vacation and I was having to go back to work. It was a job that I was complacent in. I loved the people I worked with but I was bored. It wasn’t challenging me any longer. I didn’t want to be there. 
Back then I thought I looked happy in this other picture at the time but I can see that isn’t true now.  The depression was slowly creeping in. I’ve always been very good at putting up a mask and looking okay, but in reality I’m crumbling inside. No one could tell because my “happy face” was on. The first blocks were falling and I didn’t even know it yet. 
The only advice I can give is to not put the masks up and talk to some you trust. It’s hard as FUCK to do but once those blocks start falling it only took me about 9 months till all mine fell and I had a mental breakdown and ended up in the hospital.

It isn’t just the items we can’t find or the game we didn’t win. Loss holds a greater power over us than some even know. It is something we all have experienced at one time or another. But, what if the loss you have experienced is not because someone died, but because someone decided your value wasn’t worth it.

Family, it’s the heart of society and a concept many of us relate with. Unfortunately, not every family is what we desire it to be. Sometimes family decides that it is time to let go of someone they once cared for. I am one of those family members. I have questioned the “why” far to many times and been confused for far to long. Today my value isn’t any less but it is in fact greater. I decide my value, not the people in my life. So with sorrow in my heart my loss is great, but with value in myself I will go on. ❤️I have gone on and my sorrow for the loss has changed. I see family as those that have chosen me. Now my sorrow is for the pain they will never see inside of me. ———

A picture has always captured a thousand words, from film cameras to the phone photography - and there is no comparable example to match this shift in trend like Instagram. The largest photo sharing platform in the world has been a huge part of youth culture, building identities and promoting talent apart from just sharing of pictures. In a recent move, Instagram is in trials to do away with the number of ‘likes’ shown on each post in select countries. Instead, you will see one user and ‘others’ who have liked the picture. The new test is rolling out in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Italy, Japan and Brazil, after the trials in Canada which began in May 2019.

Instagram Chief Adam Mosseri stated, “We want people to worry a little bit less about how many likes they're getting on Instagram and spend a bit more time connecting with the people that they care about,” he said. Mia Garlick, Facebook’s head of policy in Australia and New Zealand said in her statement that the goal is for users to feel less judged and aiding the people to focus less on likes, and more on telling their story. Those using Instagram professionally such as influencers will see no difference in their measurement tools. Will removing ‘likes’ reduce the mental health problems like anxiety and depression? The need to be socially validated will always exist, but with the absence of likes one can potentially hope for less comparison. Other features are also introduced to safeguard users online.

Instagram is by now the extension of one’s personality. While it may receive pushback from users for its new algorithms or features which they might not agree with, there’s no denying that this is a positive move by the platform for the benefit of the users themselves. Insta Reality!!! These little squares represent the “photo worthy” moments of my life. Although I take a lot of photos 😆 99% of the time I’m not taking photos.

When I had Postnatal Depression I would do just this, post photos of my “perfect life”. My beautiful children and my very privileged lifestyle. Most of my friends and family had no idea what I was going through. From the outside it looked like life was all baby smiles and perfection. It really wasn’t. 
My mental health is under control and healthy at the moment, but Instagram still doesn’t represent who I am, how I feel on a day to day basis or what happens in my life. Please remember that. Lol you can tell I stick to my high standards because I've been divorced for 2 years June 19th and still no dates cuz guys don't like girls with standards nowadays all they want to do is get nudes sex text an get laid...they don't want to get to know you personally really want to get to know your body parts and that's just how sad the world has gotten I can't wait until the Lord blesses me with a boyfriend someone that wants to love me for who I am and my son as well and not pressure me into kissing or having sex until I'm ready to me honestly there's no time limit in those two areas especially in my life I'll do it when I'm damn good and ready and not before then and if a guy can't respect my boundaries then he's not the right one for me.

“Yeah, I gotta go hit up my therapist and tone up these mental muscles!!!” 🧠💪🏼 Just like there are so many ways to get physically fit, there are so many ways to get mentally and emotionally fit.  There are different therapists and styles of therapy. The key is normalizing therapy and then finding what works for you. Therapy and other psychological self help practices have been the most important parts of my personal health journey because it was what allowed me to become disciplined, set boundaries, practice self compassion, clear toxic emotions and calm my nervous system so I could physically heal. Even if you yourself haven’t experienced trauma you probably know someone who does and your interactions with them can be effected by that. PTSD doesn’t just effect war vets but everyday people as well, especially sexual assault victims. Just a friendly reminder to be kind to yourself and your personal experiences and to keep other peoples experiences in mind as well. 💛

When I was 15 I was diagnosed with a severe anxiety disorder and I wore this label for a majority of my teen years. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Now this is my own personal opinion but, I believe people who suffer from a lot of anxiety are very empathic and have a heightened awareness to others emotions around them. We’re also incredibly sensitive to surroundings and energetic changes on the earth. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Every single human being on this planet is empathic but, some are more than others. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
A resistance to the present situation can amplify anxiety. I’ve been off medication now for over 5 years. I’m going to share how I cope daily without medications ~ if they work for me, they might work for you too 😊⁣⁣
⁣⁣
1. Deep Breathing ~ Taking 5 deep breaths, push down deep from your belly and release that excess energy. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
2. Stomping your feet ~ visualize lightening bolts coming out from the bottom of your feet. Releasing the charge that has built up. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
3. Leave the current situation ~ if something is really triggering you and you can’t come down, separate from it for a bit. Weather it means being alone for a few minutes or sitting by yourself. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
4. Trust your gut ~ if a person or environment is cause a lot of excess energy to be built up in your system it could be your intuition sending you a sign. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
5. Triggers ~ things that really bother you, can reflect a part of yourself that is unhealed. These are doors to understanding yourself better. Dive deep into them.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
6. JOURNAL 📓 ~ get out of your head and into your heart. Write it out, exactly how you feel. Overthinking can create tons of anxiety. ⁣⁣

If you were never given a safe container as a child, the chances of you experiencing anxiety, being an empath or having the tendency to neglect yourself for the sake of others, is exponentially high.

So what is a safe container? It looks like this:
-your home had a set routine/ritual around bedtime, dinner time and/or after school (you always could trust it would be the same)
-your parents fairly and consistently implemented punishment alongside reconciliation (you knew that no matter what, you would receive a hug and love after learning from the mishap)
-there were set rules, realistic guidelines clearly communicated from each parent
-you were held safely in your emotions, allowed to feel without your parent making it mean anything about them, or telling you their invalid

Now let’s get real. Your parents are humans. They did the best they knew how...
•
AND it makes sense that if you didn’t get your safe container you are riddled with anxiety, stayed an empath (yes, all are born feelers) or are really concerned with meeting others needs before your own.
•
When you don’t have the container you desperately try to make the container. This shows up in: controlling behaviour, over care taking, hypervigilance, codependency, perfectionism, lack of boundaries, or people pleasing.
•
This is also why, if you relate to being feminine, you desperately crave a man in his mature, healthy masculine. The masculine is the container, the feminine is the liquid inside. The feminine can ebb and flow safely in emotion knowing the masculine will hold space and anchor.
•
Here is the real question...aren’t you exhausted? Being the container and the liquid is incredibly draining. Being the one who always “has it together” is so much pressure!

Story time: Yesterday I was so busy (like the kind of busy where I had 2 lists, a 15min incriminated timeline from 11am-8pm, make your head spin kinda busy!) and I was MAD. I didn’t have time to figure out why I was so angry (holding space hadn’t been factored into my tight schedule), so I seethed for hours.

Finally I decided to do a little breathwork while I was driving and Voila! It hit me. Even though I absolutely adore my life and I’m so grateful for most of it, every so often I have days where is just straight pisses me off that I have to do EVERYTHING on my own: the cooking, cleaning, taking care of kids, teaching them how to be responsible/hygienic/respectful, fill out all the forms, applications, and questionnaires, make doctor appointments, get ready for the school year, plan vacation and take them solo, carry my own emotions and simultaneously coach them on navigating theirs, oh yeah, and somehow find time to work! On days like yesterday, where oil changes, and bank notaries, and therapy appointments were back to back, I desperately wanted to split the list/load... but I couldn’t. And boy did that piss me off. I continued my breathwork, made a little space to feel the frustration and disappointment of being a divorcée/sole parent and I immediately felt the anger begin to release. 
I cannot say it enough, if you turn your back, push it away, or ignore it, the feeling will chase you forever and begin to haunt you. This is where anxiety and depression are birthed. 
But if you give a little space and make room for your feeling, acknowledging it and accepting its existence, somehow it begins to loosen its grip. 
This quote is one of my favorite TRUTHS. This simple statement brings me so much peace and safety, and I hope it does the same for you.

As you head into your weekend, hold this close to you heart and remember “clean anger” (anger that doesn’t harm you, others, or property) is HEALTHY, natural, and part of the human experience. Let it be a road map instead of a point of shame. 
Pay attention and go inward, follow it and see where it leads.

Some need a quiet environment 'My senses are so stimulated I feel less anxious in a quiet space'
.
Some need to run 'I have to leave or I'll avoid coming out all together, don't feel comfortable'.
.
Some need hide 'If I don't reply I don't need to make excuses & I don't like making excuses or the thought that someone will ask me, it's scary'.
.
Some need to fight 'I'm anxious & it's making me feel angry & holding it in is making me feel angry, not being honest is too but I don't want people to think I'm weak'.
.
Some feel they are the problem, that anxiety is here because of them, they were born like it, they don't speak to themselves kindly 'they're own unkind inner voice sometimes comes at you too'

Remember to check in with EVERYONE, we all need human contact, we need a little 'hello how are you doing?' & to feel comfortable to have a conversation. NO JUDGEMENT!

You're strong friend may not feel like they can let they're guard down, they may have been holding it up for too long but, they do need support.

You're quiet friend may be struggling & not want to show that they are struggling, not know that they can talk to someone.
.
You too can be the one who let's yourself get honest, you can write a diary, where you tell the whole truth in it. Let all the emotion out, then tell yourself, 'I am enough'.
We NEED understanding, not LABELS.

it’s bittersweet to think about all the time i’ve spent worrying. i like to believe it has taught me important things, that the worries that proved to be unfounded has shown me that disaster isn’t always looming around the corner. but it definitely can feel like wasted time. 
a lot of my time spent in therapy is discussing my current list of worries, and rationalizing them with my therapist. i’m really trying to remember that worrying hurts you twice, either you worry about something and it doesn’t end up happening, and then you worried for no reason. or the thing you worried about does happen, and then you still wasted time worrying because it was inevitable. the wordying oftentimes doesn’t change the actual outcome, it just makes your current situation more stressful and unpleasant. but i guess worrying is a part of being human, and that we all worry to different degrees and extent. for us with mental illness, dare i say especially those of us with anxiety disorders, we tend to worry a bit more frequently than the average person. it’s a big part of the illness. but remember that not everything you worry about will happen. sometimes we catastrophize, sometimes we think the absolute worst will happen and we’re proven wrong. not everything you think is truth x •
