Since the selfie doesn’t always capture everything in the background, we attempted to use our timer for this one. ⏲

This is the best we got. But we’ll take it.

This post is going to be a little different - it’s time for some real talk y’all. I’ve been hesitant to post this because... well... swipe and you’ll know why I’ve been hesitant 😂
The first picture is how I usually present myself, both in person and on social media. And honestly, this is how I often feel. But there is another side of things.
The second photo is me the morning after a particularly hard night battling with my mental health. My eyes lids are swollen, my skin has broken out in pimples and rashes, and my eyes are so tired they can hardly look straight.
The third photo is me a week later. Exhausted. Skin still awful, eyes still swollen and too tired to function, rashes abundant.
Mental health affects you in many ways - it’s not just mood. I notice it in my skin - my face breaks out and my eczema gets worse. I notice it in my vision - my lazy eye comes out and makes me see double. It’s in my appetite, my sleep habits, my bodies ability to move the same as usual.
So don’t tell me that it’s just in my head when I see it written all over my body.
Inside and out.
P.S. it’s okay to laugh at the two images - I have to laugh a little every time I see them. They are kind of ridiculous. But they do show the effects well, so have a giggle but also try to take something from the message as well 😂
(Important side note included in the comment section!)

@venturingtwo - A month ago, on our way back from Montreal, we stumbled upon this amazing road passing through a series of islands on the St.Lawrence River. We had no idea such a cool place existed. We made a detour right after we saw a billboard of this place along the highway. It's a great place to relax, fish and picnic! It also made the long drive way more enjoyable👍

I am proud to be Canadian and have so many wild places and heritage sites to explore through Parks Canada. It has been a while since I had the opportunity too, and I must say that the S.S. Klondike it pretty cool to see!

Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park in Canada is considered the jewel of the Canadian Rockies, as our expert Miranda recently discovered when she visited. An abundance of activities await you, including hiking trails ranging from easy and flat walks, to more strenuous uphill hikes. You can also rent canoes to enjoy the stunning scenery from the water. Call today and find out how you can add it to your Canada holiday! .

Anyone have a pup that does this stance? This is River’s “I am waiting for you to throw the stick, ball, rock, etc” pose. She gets so intense when it’s go time 😂
⠀⠀
ALSO. This is an oldie, but I haven’t had the chance to show off the WILLOW collar we got recently. It’s my new fav by @mauveandjo. I’m super into all things tropical and yellow seems to be a current fav. Honestly it doesn’t get better than this. Use MJRIV at checkout if you’re interested in one 💛

Hello again from the most southern point on the Canadian Mainland! #pointpelee
。。。。。。。。。。
I know I’ve been MIA on my posts over the last month. If you’ve been following my stories, you’ll know that I’ve been bouncing around all over the place and enjoying my summer!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It was getting far too stressful to post everyday and enjoy my holiday, so I decided to cut back. And I couldn’t be more happy with that decision!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s important to listen to your mental health needs when you need a break from #socialmedia and take it. Don’t listen and give into the pressure of forcing yourself to post something if you’re just not feeling it!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I hope you’re all having a wonderful summer! I’d love to hear what you’re up to!

Watching a jigging performance at the Métis Settlement in the Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site. The site is to home to a lot of history with fur trade forts from over 200 years ago. Explorer David Thompson, and his wife Charlotte Small, were both here while Thompson searched out new trade routes west. First Nations liked the area with the North Saskatchewan River and the confluence of the Clearwater River only a short distance away. Today you can see original fort sites, a fort replica, a blacksmith shop, learn how they made fur hides, taste fresh bannock, and even sleep in a trappers tent.

The leading lines in Canada are a photographers dream.

The freight trains in Canada are THEEEEE LONGEST trains you will ever see! We were caught at a crossing more than once for 15 minutes waiting for them to pass.

I knew this shot would be amazing if I could capture one of these trains on the track, so we waited... for a long time. Fast forward and I made the decision to leave (Laura made us go). As we were driving along the road that runs alongside this track I saw it... the sight that made me want to cry, a train heading towards this spot. Laura spun the van around like she was part of the A team (she isn't) and I'm not kidding I jumped out of a moving van, camera in hand and nearly fell of the ledge from jumping on it looking through my cameras viewfinder... definitely one of my finer moments. Anyway as you can see from this photo I missed the train and now me and Laura are getting a divorce 🙃 #wifeproblems

A month ago, on our way back from Montreal, we stumbled upon this amazing road passing through a series of islands on the St.Lawrence River. We had no idea such a cool place existed. We made a detour right after we saw a billboard of this place along the highway. It's a great place to relax, fish and picnic! It also made the long drive way more enjoyable👍.

Forever posting from this weekend last fall. This is one of my favourite shots by @iamquentinorain, and thankful to be part of it. Heading down into the darkness, adventure ahead and behind us. #stayandwander #sepaq

Afternoons on the incredible #CabotTrail. French Mountain is one of the most iconic areas in #CapeBreton. It is home to the popular #SkylineTrail, French Lake and has incredible views found at the #CapRouge Look off. When the fog lifts to reveal all the beautiful colours at #IndianHeadCove. Bruce Peninsula Tobermory is a must visit in Ontario. The scenery is gorgeous with its clear turquoise waters, ancient cedar trees and limestone cliffs.

The continental divide crashing down on itself - super surreal to see layers of cliffs appearing as the fog pulled back for just a minute to reveal this shot. Then back to whiteout and being lost on the way down.

That feeling when you’ve seen an iconic location countless times on insta and then you finally have the opportunity to go there in real life 🙌🏻. Who else is visiting Moraine Lake this summer??
