  • Mural seen in Oakdale Pennsylvania. (Swipe for 3 views) I've been meaning to take photos of this wall mural for quite some time and finally had the opportunity a couple of days ago, when it wasn't raining LOL! Being forever the curious researcher I am, i looked up any background info on this work. Titled "America's Home Town", it was painted by artist Diane Adams in 2010. It is on a building on Noblestown Ave in Oakdale Pennsylvania. The title is Oakdale's community slogan. It is 17' x 50' in size and the cute parklet in front of it was added later in that vacant lot space. Unfortunately, the greenery has grown and now covers up part of the mural on the far right side. Moore's is the local hardware store on the same block. As a curious aside, yes, this is the same Noblestown Road from my post May 13th of the Egyptian Revival building near Greentree PA and my post April 26th of the Wizard of Oz sculpture in McDonald PA and on April 1st the pic of Walbridge St shot where it intersects with Noblestown as it ends in the West End neighborhood of Pittsburgh. This road runs for miles and miles, with twists and curves and turns and hills, through so many communities! πŸŽ¨πŸ–ŒοΈπŸ–ΌοΈ . . . #mural #art #muralart #wallart #parklet #oakdale #oakdalepa #pennsylvania #westernpa #westernpennsylvania #noblestownroad #brickbuilding #brickwall #painting #wall #americashometown #hometown #americana #fountain

Thank you dear Noo πŸ€— I like murals and public art. Really livens up a place. This one is almost 10 years old but is still very vibrant.
