I found out from some relatives this weekend that my great grandmother used to build furniture..working making cabinets for a company for a living. Also that are a custom piece or two still in the families possession. Don’t ask me why no one ever told me this.. and imagine my surprise. BUT HOW FREAKIN COOL IS THAT?! While I am starting on rebuilding my entertainment center today (with a little help from the CNC for detail) I feel a little bit more appreciation and gratification to be in the trade. #woodworkingwomen

My all-time favorite childhood Christmas tradition was our tree tradition! 🎄We didn’t have fancy, artificial, prelit trees like we do now. My dad would take my brother and I to the local nursery to pick out our family’s REAL Christmas tree. We looked forward to it every year! 🎉 Our strategy for tree selection was simple: comb the lot front to back, side to side and narrow down the biggest tree they had!! 🤩 We almost always had our mega tree flocked and then we would come home, string lights on it and all take turns hanging our significant/handmade ornaments all over it. Looking back, it wasn’t a “pretty” tree like the one I have in my house right now, but it’s pretty special that memory is the one that has stuck with me the most. ❤️ So last night we set out to start something special for our own crew!! (Side note: @thechadhedrick made me BEG for a real tree 🙄😩 - you know the whole spending money on something we are going to throw away lecture...) we had a rocky start at the nursery with people not getting along + tripping + crying etc etc etc but we ended up having such an awesome family night around our first ever REAL tree. 😭🎄❤️ My mama heart was SO happy, can you tell?
2 months with the sweetest girl in the whole wide world. 💕 I can’t believe she’s already TWO months!!!? How! She’s the sweetest, happiest girl. My littlest best friend. I love her more everyday if that’s even possible!! Swipe for the baby coos and rolls. 😩💕 #noahallynelson
