I recently had a conversation with a good friend who explained how she was going to remind herself every day for the rest of the year of five things she is grateful for. I think this is an amazing idea and really relevant to me right now with everything that’s going on so here’s mine..
.
1️⃣ I am grateful for being able to express myself and my passion on a social media platform.
2️⃣ I am grateful that I have the most supportive network of people around me who inspire me every day.
3️⃣ I am grateful for the opportunity to create JDF and help other people change their lives.
4️⃣ I am grateful for the new relationships I am forging in my life that stand me in good stead for the future.
5️⃣ I am grateful for every opportunity that presents itself that I am able to embrace.
.
It’s really key to remember that everyone has problems, big or small. However, on a much larger scale, your problems probably aren’t that bad. Be grateful for the things you do have and it’ll reduce the impact negativity has on your life.

If you’re thinking of what your five things could be, make one of them that you were grateful that others in the world want to help you. That’s me. 🙋🏼‍♂️ I want to help you. We only limit our opportunities through other people’s perception of what they think we can achieve.

It’s been over the last two weeks I’ve read this over and over again. It makes sense.
▫️
How many times have you wanted to do something? Wanted to buy something? Wanted to wear something? Wanted to start something? Then you don’t because someone says you can’t? You won’t be able to? You aren’t good enough?
▫️
Set yourself ridiculous dreams. Aim for them. Along the way, set measurable and realistic targets. The closer you get to the dream the better but never tell people the targets, tell them the dream. Once you believe it, other people around you will start to.
▫️
If one of those dreams is to change your physique and improve your lifestyle, message me and we can chat some more 🙏🏼🤙🏽

Hey. That’s me. 18 months ago I left ‘Fat Jay’ behind and decided it was time to make a change... now I’m 5 stone lighter.

It’s not been an easy journey and I’ve fallen off the wagon many times through trying various different methods. However, I’ve done it all myself with no fad diets, no PT and no shortcuts. It’s been simply hard work and hard graft.

On the 14th October 2019, I’m going to dehydrate myself. 😓
▫️
I’m going to take part in a crazy (stupid) experiment! Boxers, Fighters, Bodybuilders amongst many other athletes utilise world class weight manipulation through dehydration. I’m going to go on this same journey over 6 days and share my results.
▫️
Why? - It’s a sad story. I received a message from a 17yr old asking if it was the best option to lose weight quickly before a holiday. The answer is simply no. There are lots of associated risks with your kidneys and other issues around dehydration. However, I’m going to do this because I want to show people that it can be done and that it does have its place but it’s NOT the answer to sustainable weight loss and my god I’m expecting to feel like shit.

For the safety conscious of you out there, I’m being monitored. It will stop if I start to get poorly. Each day I’ll be letting you know what it consists of, how I feel and the results. Once it’s over, I’ll upload an IGTV episode on the whole process. I want to document this journey to show people the effects of one drastic method people have been willing to consider to shed weight. I’ll do it so you don’t have to.. 💧

I wish there was an easy option. I wish there was a switch. I wish I could have done it quicker. - Bullshit. These are things you’ll never hear me say.

The hard work. The frustration. The cost. The sacrifice. The determination. The consistency. It’s been fun. These are things you’ll hear me talk about.

Until you accept that anything worth doing takes time, you’ll constantly be chasing emptiness. It becomes wholesome when you understand the journey is actually the most exciting part.

Here’s a great before and after...This is the first Fitness First Event I’ve taken part in. I achieved a time of 17:42 and challenge you to beat it.

I’m not conditioned for this at all but I love to challenge myself and I’m super competitive. It’s such a good way to re-asses on things you can improve on..

Tired? Need a boost? Sore? Man. Who else struggles with having the energy sometimes? 👋🏼
▫️
I’m a shift worker. I train every day. Some people say it’s not the ‘right way’ but it works for me 🤷🏼‍♂️
▫️
Listen to your body. If it’s your mind telling you that you can’t, tell it you can and get out and achieve your goals. If you’re body is tired, there’s a few things we can do to combat that:
.
1️⃣ Actually take some rest. Plan the rest like you would a workout so you stay strict and stick to the plan. Sometimes your body needs a rest. Take some time out!
.
2️⃣ Make sure you are eating a balanced diet. It’s all good and well being in a calorie deficit but eating shit food every day, all day isn’t going to help with recovery.
.
3️⃣ Sleep, sleep and more sleep. I am guilty of falling foul of this but it’s more important than you think. This is when your body recovers the most and you can fully regenerate to be ready to attack the next day. Make sure you’re getting enough!
.
